Abstract

One of innovation in research is utilizing an industrial waste to obtain value-added. The purpose of this study is to find the effect of and Marshall characteristic value comparison between normal asphalt hotmix and the one which fine aggregate is replaced with waste iron filings. The study was conducted in the laboratory to test Marshall method. The composition of fine aggregate replacement with waste iron powder set at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The result showed that variation which met the specifications of the optimum bitumen content and parameter were only variation of 0% and a variation of 25%. Variation at 25% is superior in terms of the fulfillment of the Marshall parameters. When the fine aggregate replaced with iron filings waste by 25%, the use of bitumen was more efficient at 17.86%. Therefore, waste iron powder can be used as a substitute for the refined agegrat A mixture of asphalt with a maximum level of 25%.

Abstract

omestic waste water from bathroom, that generally being a waste water, can be used to balance the ground water surface.Utilization of bathroom waste water is done by making the  infiltration well. This study aimed to quantify the debit of resulted bathroom waste water and to design the bathroom waste water infiltration well. The experiment was conducted in Housing RT. II, RT. III, and RT. IV Permunas Lingkar Timur of Bengkulu that has number of house of153 units and number of inhabitant as much as 701 people. The research used survey methods such as questionnaires / interviews and percolation test to obtain the required data. Based on the data and analysis of calculation according to the Sunjoto method, concluded that the debit of bathroom waste water for RT. II, RT. III, and RT. IV was consecutive 3.38x10-5 m3/s, 9.688x10-5 m3/s, 0.0001558 m3/s. The number of produced infiltration well total 33 wells whichis 4 wells for RT. II, 5 wells for RT. III, and 24 wells for RT. IV. Each of infiltration well haddifferent dimensions in accordance with the need.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the method of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize the management of a watershed that can adopt a variety of stakeholder interests to bring into sustainable DAS management model . Priority weighting method using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) developed by Saaty (2008) . Purpose (Goal) is an integrated watershed management that can adopt the interests of various stakeholders . The criteria used are economic, ecological / environmental , and social . Alternative selected are six namely productivity , income, max discharge and min discharge , erosion , and labor . The result of weighting method using AHP have been known that the top priority of the watershed management purpose is to tackle the issue of maximum discharge/flood (0.322) and after that following the issue of productivity (0,239) . Lowest weight in the workforce (0,031) . The amount of weight above reflects the level of interest of the stakeholders involved in watershed management .

Abstract

Concrete is a material that is high in compression, but weak in tensile. The weakness of concrete can be minimized by conducting several concrete development. Fiber-reinforced concrete is concrete given the addition fiber in the concrete mixture. Pandanus tectorius spines fairly high in fiber, so that should be developed in the technology of materials, particularly concrete engineering fields. This study aims to determine the value of tensile strength of concrete sides and variations of the fiber increment persentage in the concrete that would get the highest tensile strength. Tested specimen for tensile strength was cylindrical with 30 cm in height and 15 cm in diameter.There was 4 variations of pandanus tectorius fiber addition, consecutively 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1%. The water cement ratio used was 0,5 with slump range between 60-100 mm. The addition of pandanus tectorius fiber gave a lower tensile strength than normal concrete. The lowest and highest strength was consecutively 9,687%(variation 0,25%) and 25,718% (variation 1%).

Abstract

This research described the result of laboratory investigation toward the performance of Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (AC-BC) mixture with three types gradation : above the fuller curve (mix. A), below the fuller curve (mix. B) and combination between above and below the fuller curve (mix. C). All of the mixtures were designed according to Marshall Method. Test results showed that all mixtures met the requirements from Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (AC-BC) mix properties according to Marshall Parameter. According Marshall method had optimum bitumen content 5,60% (mix A), 6,10% (mix B)) and 6,30% (mix C).

Abstract

Installation of pipes (conduit) in the building columns often found in reinforced concrete structures. The installation of pipes inside the columns is utilized as sanitary and mechanical electrical pipes. The case research in this study is to analyze the rectangular column with the applied research type (applied/pratical research). This research aims to analyze the impact of the holes on square rectangular columns. This calculation consists of 675 samples with differentconcrete compression strength (f'c), reinforcement area, holes area, and the dimensions of the column. Analysis of the calculation of hollow rectangular columns using the stress-strain relationship equation developed by Hognestaad. The results of the analysis on hollow rectangular columns resulted in a decrease column capacity. The largest decrease of the rectangular column capacity occurred on holes area of 7%, with concrete compression strength 30 MPa, and dimensions of the column 450 x 1800 mm which is 16.97%.

Abstract

Pondfish maintenance  requires sea water supply. To fulfill the required at Pantai Bengkulu coastal representing sandy coastal have the problem not yet fulfilled of  quality and quantity the sea water. With the existence at above problem hence conducted a research. The research needed for collected data. Existing data used for scheme base model. Evaluation for the result use existing formula. From scheme result get a model for the region of sandy coastal. For the sandy coastal used well intake are combination concrete buis  and pore pipe. The well have diameter 3 m and 6,5 m deepnes. Pore pipe have length 8 m and diameter is 10 cm. From merger of both can be yielded charge 0,27 m3/ second.

Abstract

Irrigation efficiency is a major determinant in the system of scheme irrigation . Irrigation efficiency is assumed as part of water would be lost either in the channel or at the rice terraces. Water loss estimate in efficiency include loss of water efficiency tertiary and secondary level, water loss is influenced by the length of the channel, the surface area of the channel, the wet cross section and the position of groundwater. The analysis in this study is to calculate thevalue of the efficiency the secondary and the tertiary canals of irrigation of Kemumu, North Bengkulu. Efficiency is accounted based on the length of the channel, sectional area of wet channel, water velocity, water loss, evaporation and seepage channel. The water loss average of secondary channel is 26,12 mm3/sec. seepage average for secondary channel is 5,06 x 10 mm/day. Evaporation in one year is 0,05 mm/day. The results of this study stated that the efficiency of the secondary channel efficiently deliver water from the primary channel to channel tertiary the average of efficiency  is about 11,92%. The result of this analysis is expected that not efficient channels in Kemumu North Bengkulu can be fixed, so thewater that rice field needed can be fulfilled. The channels can be fixed with some ways, such as making theconcrete irrigation and doing the rutine maintenance.

Abstract

The objective of this research examining stability and flow value was to investigate the impact of the utility of iron fillings waste as a subtitute material for the number of suprisingly small aggregates in the mixture of asphalt. In this research, the portion of iron filings waste which given were 5 %, 10 % and 15 % of the heavy mixture smooth aggregates. The stability quantitative value was 2093 kg in 15 % iron filings contents. The higest flow quantitative value was 3,5 mm in 5 % iron filings contents. The result of characteristic validation Marshall on the number of subtituted smooth aggregates which used iron filings gave a standard coefficient specification BM.2005. So based on that, the iron fillings waste technically could be received as a subtitute material for the mixture of suprisingly small aggregates.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine how much the level of customer satisfaction with the services provided by water drinking regional company (PDAM) of Bengkulu City. Customer satisfaction to clean water services, measured in terms of customer perception in the use of clean water, including water pressure, continuity of water, water quality, and service quality. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires of 100 respondents. Areas studied as a test site is an area which is distributed by PDAM Surabaya unit, which include Distict of Teluk Segara, Distict of Muara Bangkahulu, and Distict of Sungai Serut. Statistical analysis showed that the water quality variables (X2) be a factor greatly influencing the level of customer satisfaction with a coefficient of 0.427 and the water continuity variables (X3) with acoefficient of 0.276. The level of customer satisfaction with the value 2.340, in the category medium level of satisfaction. The conclusion of the research is to increase the level of customer satisfaction so water drinking regional company (PDAM) of Bengkulu City must pay attention to quality and continuity of water.
