Abstract

The aim of this research is to contribute in engineering consideration especially to study the ability Rhizophora shrub to increase velocity of sedimentation. The research has done using phsycal modelling (prototype refer to Rhizophora aged 4 – 5 years old). Depht obtained by three time measuring with 10 minutes interval to obtain precision f measurement. Model has scale 1:10 base on facility.The result ofresearch shows that Rhizophora shrub can reduce velocity, the depth raise, and the velocity of sedimentation raise.

Abstract

Concrete which has significant weight is good at compressive strength and poor at tensile strength. This study aimed to find out the relationship between the tensile strength and density of bamboo fiber concrete which 40 % of the fine aggregate was replaced with the sea shell ash (ACL) and the rice husk ash (ASP). The bamboo fiber variations which used, 0,25 % (V1) dan 0,50 % (V2) were calculated from the cement weight. Each fiber bamboo variations has 3samples of ACL and ASP weight ratio e.g 35:65 (C1), 50:50 (C2), 65:35 (C3). 3 concrete cylinders of diameter 15 cm and height 30 cm were made for each samples. All the specimens were compared to the normal concrete of water cement ratio 0,45 and slump value 6-10 cm.The specimens were made and maintained by SK SNI T-15-1990-03 and SNI 03-2493-1991. The tensile strength of the specimens were tested at the age of 28 days according to SNI 03-24912002. The highest tensile strength was belonged to V2C2. The significance density (2.347,57 kg/m3) belong to the normal concrete. The highest of the density and the tensile strength of eachvariation of ACL and ASP were occurred at the bamboo fiber concrete 0,5 % (V2).

Abstract

Indonesia as archipelagic country have more than 3700 island and coastal region as long as 80.000 or twice travel around the world through equator ( Triatmodjo, 1996). Indonesia have very long coast and potency of wave energy  big sea. Energy wave sea can be permeated with system of Oscilating Water Column ( OWC). System OWC represent exploiting of energy wave sea by using column of oscilating. Problems which significan in exploiting of appliance of OWC for water pump is increasing oscilating sea water. Ever greater oscilating sea water o sea hence is ever greater of yielded pump debit.  At this article, research the studied is design of  a model OWC with its tabletop made is open. Later;Then model to be put down in wave channel and treated with variation of depth water,  high and period wave sea.  The Result of examination on model of fixed OWC without wave concentration  and  without reflektor yield value of Ka between 1,05 till 1,23 for the d / gT2 between 0,02 till 0,062. Coefficient value of maximum amplification that is Ka = 1,23 reached at d/gT2 = 0,062. For deepness which remain to indicate that maximum Ka happened  at smallest period. After result of examination of model with wave concentration and without reflektor, assess maximum amplifikasi happened at value of Ka = 1,4 for the value of d/gT2 = 0,052. While to model with wave concentration and use reflektor, assess maximum amplification happened at value of Ka = 1,4 for the d/gT2 = 0,04

Abstract

Noise on a road is caused by the sound of a vehicle engine which is passing on. It  can make the environment uncomfortable and the health problems in humans. The distance between the object and the sound source determines the magnitude of this impact. This study aims to look for the effect of the distance on noise levels that caused by vehicle engine sounds. The study was conducted in the central of Bengkulu City, Jalan Suprapto. Observations were made in 2 segments of Suprapto Road with 10 m distance intervals perpendicular to the sound source with a total of 5 points. The mathematical model uses the linear regression equation approach. Distance is an independent variable and noise is an independent variable. The results showed that, the relationship between the distance of the observation point and the noise value obtained equation Y = -0,317x+71,20 with R2 = 0,984.Keywords: noise, distortion, regression.

Abstract

Paving block is used to fill the needs of surface pavement. This research uses waste of sea shell ash and fly ash as cement substitute material in the manufacture of paving blocks. Sea shell ash and fly ash containing calcium oxide (CaO) and silica oxide (SiO) that can replace and strengthen the chemical composition of cement. Variations of replacement much as 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% compared to normal compressive strength of the paving block (0%). Test specimen numbered 75 samples of rectangular with a length of 20 cm, width 10 cm and a thickness of 6 cm. Manufacture of paving blocks using conventional construction methods. The results of compressive strength testing of the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days for any 2 variations on the variations increase to 7.5% and down 10%. The results of the compressive strength largest average variation occurs in the replacement of 7.5% ie at the age of 7 days of 31.19 MPa, aged 14 days amounted to 33.55 MPa and 28 days amounted to 34.74 MPa. The percentage increase was highest compressive strength at 28 days with an increase of 23.19%.

Abstract

Red brick is a building element used in the construction of buildings and made of clay plus water with or without material mixture of other materials. Fly ash and rice husk ash contain silica. Silica is a material that has the nature of pozzolan which can increase the compressive strength of the brick when mixed with the soil. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of fly ash and rice husk ash (ASP) to the value of compressive strength of clay brick. The process of making the test specimen follows the procedure in the brick factory.Variations of specimens made were normal bricks and bricks with the addition of fly ashand rice husk ash (ASP) used were 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% to the weight of clay.The number of test specimens of each percentage of fly ash and rice husk ash (ASP) as much as 12 specimens. The method of testing of red brick strength is referred to SNI 15-20942000. The result of the research shows that the compressive strength of the clay brick has decreased from normal clay brick by 38,97 kg/cm². The biggest decrease in compressive strength value obtaines at clay brick with 30% ashes (48,04%) and the smallest decreased obtaines at clay brick compressive strength in clay brick with 5% ash (5,98%). The decrease of the compressive strength is influenced by the amount of ash addition, water quantity and moisture content.

Abstract

RI Act No. 22 of 2009 states that on the intersection traffic light drivers are prohibited from turning left immediately, unless specified otherwise by traffic signs. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ‘left turn on red’ signal and its effect on the capacity of Simpang Lima Bengkulu city.The results showed that in terms of the degree of saturation, the capacity of Simpang Lima Bengkulu city at Soeprapto roads site is better whenever it is applied the left turn on red signal. It is necessary to evaluate the traffic light settings on Simpang Lima Bengkulu City because the degree of saturation has exceeded the tolerance limits suggested byMKJI 1997.

Abstract

Mortar is a mixture of adhesive (Portland cement and limestone), sand, and water with a certain composition. Mortar is used in structural and nonstructural constructions. This research uses sawdust charcoal as cement addition because in similar research mention that wood charcoal contains silica. This research was aimed to know the value of compressive strength of the mortar (1:3 and 1:5) by using sawdust charcoal as cement addition. The method of manufacture and testing compressive strength of mortar refers to SNI 03-6825-2002. The mortar specimens is cube shaped with side 50 mm and the total of specimens have 112 mortar test specimens. Variations of sawdust charcoal used were 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10%, 12,5% and 15% of the weight of cement. The range of initial flow values used are 105% - 115 (SNI 03-6882-2002). The specimens were soaked for 26 days and compressive strength test of mortar was performed at 28 days. The test results showed that the compressive strength value of normal mortar (1:3) of 25,09 MPa, the value of compressive strength of variation mortar 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10%, 12,5% and 15% respectively are 25,89 MPa, 26,93 MPa, 27,84 MPa, 25,58 MPa, 20,68 MPa and 17,24 MPa. The value of compressive strength of normal mortar (1:5) of 15,48 MPa, the value of compressive strength of mortar variation 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10%, 12,5% and 15% respectively are 15,83 MPa, 16,24 MPa, 17,01 MPa, 15,59 MPa, 14,45 MPa dan 12,26 MPa. The highest increase of compressive strength value in mixture 1:3 was variation 7,5% by 10,94% and mixture 1:5 was variation 7,5% by 9,90% from the compressive strength value of normal mortar.

Abstract

Siltation due to sedimentation is one of the problems that occur in estuar of Ketahun River, Bengkulu Utara. The purpose of this study is to analyze the sedimentation particles and sediment discharge (bed load) at the mouth of Ketahun River. The location of this research is divided into three measurement points located on the downstream (facing the sea), the mouth of the river, and upstream (overlooking the river). The technique used to determine the sedimentation particle is by sieve analisis with various diameters (8,35 mm; 4,76 mm; 2,63 mm; 2,0 mm; 0,84 mm; 0,6 mm; 0,3 mm; 0,149 mm;, 0,074 mm). The percentage is calculated based on the weight of each sample with the results of sedimentation characteristic 0.3 mm smooth sand grains. To determine the basic sediment discharge (bet load) measurement is done directly in the mouth of the Ketahun River to get the river’s morphology and riverbed sediment samples. The samples were then examined in the laboratory, based on sieve analysis test to get the size of a grain diameter (D_35, D_50, D_60, D_90) and sediment specific gravity. The data obtained was then analyzed using empirical formulas-Peter Mayer and Einstein. From the analysis of sediment discharge at the river mouth to year basis obtained results: for method-Peter Mayer with Q_ukur = 2,596 x 10-6 m 3 / s and for the method of Einstein Q_ukur = 4,615 x 10-6 m 3 / sec. Results of the analysis shows that basic sediment discharge increases inline with the increasing river flow.

Abstract

This research purpose to know about people behavior in build permanent house, which see from house foundation reference on the concept of endure earthquake house. This observation have done with the way whice propagated quisioner amount 50 sheet to respondent (craftsman or own house) who building house. This way to find information about building the house. This research have done in North Bengkulu and Middle Bengkulu with took sample in six kecamatan are Air Besi, Arga Makmur, Karang Tinggi, Kerkap,Lais and Pondok Kelapa. This research produced information that making foundation to permanent house building still enough to fill. The concept of endure earthquake house. Because of that,we need a way from goverment in those region,acedemic and all of people to give information about how need build of house appropriate with the concept of endure earthquake house, because Bengkulu province is a earthquake area.
