Background: Hospital human resources and hospital organizations become one unit. This requires a female nurse to have a high commitment because she must be able to place her position as a woman employed and her responsibilities as a housewife. Career women who uphold the profession will be more likely to experience conflict.Purpose: To determine whether there is an effect of dual role conflict on performing nurses at the Medan City Private General Hospital and Deli Serdang.Method: This study uses a correlational design and cross-sectional. The sampling technique used total sampling. The population was married female nurses and had children who worked at the Medan Advent General Hospital and Sari Mutiara Lubuk Pakam General Hospital, the nurses at Intensive Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient wards of 94 respondents.Results: The finding was 67% has a dual role category and 74.5% nurse performance in a good category, and by chi-square statistical test showed that there was a significant effect between multiple roles on performance as a nurse as a housewife with p-value = 0.045 (p<0.05).Conclusion: Even though dual role conflict is happening in female nurses, that a nurse can still perform well even though she has a high dual role by remaining wise in managing time as effectively as possible so that she can still harmonize employed and housewife, and keep the nursing care services at the hospital provided remain optimal.

Background: Universal precaution as a strategy recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in efforts to prevent infection and disease transmission among health workers, through the hospital Infection prevention and control (IPC) committee seeks to protect health workers and patients of the risk of transmitting the infection.Purpose: To determine the factors associated with the application of universal precautions in the prevention of infectious disease transmission in nurses at Lamaddukelleng Hospital, Wajo district.Method: A descriptive quantitative using cross-sectional design. The population is nurses at Lamaddukelleng Hospital, especially nurses in the emergency ward, with a total sampling of 28 respondents.Results: The Chi-Square test finding factor of nurses had a trained with p-value = 0.001 which shows that the nurses had a trained has a significant relationship to the application of universal precautions by nurses, while the availability of Infection prevention and control equipment facilities is p-value = 0.557 and the monitoring factor is p-value = 0.274, showing no relationship to the application of universal precautions by nurses.Conclusion: Shows that 75% of respondents have applied universal precautions. Suggestions to hospital management to be paying attention to provide Infection prevention and control equipment facilities and provide regular training, especially related to Infection Prevention and Control.

Background: Fast technological developments in telecommunications and information technology following by cheaper costs make life easier on this planet. The impact is an increase in smartphone use among youth, they can take advantage of the positive side, but in developing countries the moreover most abusing and negative using.Purpose: To determine the mobile usage behavior-focusing on smartphone usage addiction among youth (15–24 years of age)Method: This study involves 107 respondents consisted of 55 males and 52 females with a youth average age is 15-24 years old. This study used a snowball sampling technique and the research instrument used the Addiction Rating Scale of Smartphone Usage Adapted from Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV) taken by online questionnaire. The result is an addicted category when total score≥mean and not addicted when total score < mean Results: Finding that 53.3% of youth do not experience smartphone addiction and 46.7% of them have experience smartphone addiction. There is a relationship between economic status and smartphone addiction with a p-value of 0.005Conclusion: Finding that nearly half of the youth are addicted to smartphones, to pay the attention of parents and local psychological agencies to help them use them for positive purposes.

Background: One of the most common discomforts during pregnancy is relating to low back and pelvic pain. Predisposing factors include uterine growth that causes posture changes, weight gain, the influence of relaxin hormone on ligaments, previous history of back pain, parity and activity. The exercise that helps pregnant women get a power to facilitate the delivery process by a Yoga programme approaches.Purpose: To determine the effect of a Yoga programme approaches for pregnancy-related low back and pelvic painMethod: A quantitative research method. The study population was third trimester pregnancy, taken by purposive sampling technique, and got a sample of 22 participants and Questionnaire used as the research instrument test. The analysis technique used in this research is descriptive quantitative.Results: Finding that the average score of low back and pelvic pain before a Yoga programme (pre test) was 3.73 (moderate pain) with a standard deviation of 1.38. The average score after intervention at the post-test stage was 1.14 (mild pain) with a standard deviation of 0.94. (p value = 0.000 <0.05).Conclusion: There is an effect of a Yoga programme approaches for pregnancy-related low back and pelvic pain in third trimester pregnancy

Background: The incidence of dengue had significantly increasing every years in Indonesia. Children is vulnerable population and have higher risk develop to shock complication from dengue. This infectious disease can cause several symptoms such as nausea or vomiting, no appetite, leakage of blood plasma and the patient may experience hypovolemic shock. One of the factors that can affect dengue virus infection is nutritional and fluid status.Purpose: To identifying clinical features of fluid status among children with suspect dengue in IndonesiaMethod: A descriptive quantitative method and conducted at the public health center in West Java Indonesia. The sample taken by a convenience sampling method. Inclusion criteria were children aged 1-14 years old diagnosed with dengue infection and hospitalized in Pediatric Ward.Results: Finding that the respondents diagnosed with dengue fever (DF) had experienced dehydration of 86.8%. and diagnosed with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) had experienced dehydration of 83.3%Conclusion: Most children with dengue infections have dehydrated. This condition is because of symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, abdominal pain, and then following by difficulty taking oral fluid.

Background: Heart disease or cardiovascular and blood vessel disease is one of the major health problems in developed and developing countries. One of the cardiovascular diseases is heart failure. Heart failure is the last stage of heart disease. The research regarding the description of demographic characteristics has a few, and necessary to conduct a study on this matter.Purpose: To describe the demographic characteristics and Sleep duration among patients with heart failure (HF) who were hospitalizationMethod: A quantitative descriptive research design, the sample taken by non-probability and purposive sampling. The number of samples of 62 participants. With criteria inclusion, patients with a diagnosis of right heart failure, functional classification New York Heart Association (NYHA) grades III and IV.Results: The most of the patient with heart failure by a mean age of 57. 32 old and standard deviation of 5.66 old, male (62.9%), the highest level of education was junior high school (58.1%) and sleep duration in range 2-10 hours by a mean of 4.53 hours and standard deviation of 2.3 hours. Accompanying disease by hypertension of 46.9%, use of sleeping pills ≥ 3 times a week 74.2%.Conclusion: The most patient has a sleep duration under 5 hours in 24 hours and use of sleeping pills ≥ 3 times a week. The management of heart failure to get the quality of life patients is getting better, considering that this disease is the final stage of heart disease. Good self-management compliance of sleep and rest needs through factors modifiable.

Background: Elderly will experience various degenerative diseases due to decreased bodily functions. The common suffered by the elderly is hypertension. Hypertension causes psychological problems in the elderly and following by depressed and afraid of the condition they are experiencing.Purpose: To determine the description of depression among the elderly people with hypertension living in old folk homesMethod : A quantitative with a design cross-sectional, the sample taken by a total sampling of 41 elderlies with hypertension. They were living in old folk homes Ciparay- west java under Indonesian Department of Social Welfare. Measurement tool using Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and screening by mini mental status examination (MMSE).Results: Finding of 10 elderlies (24.4%), without a symptom of depression, 24 (58.5%) had a mild depression, and 7 elderlies (17.1%) had a moderate depression.Conclusion: The most elderlies with hypertension can cause symptom of depression. Depressed and hypertensive in elderly, both symptoms need attention from management old folk home and health workers, to providing psychotherapy to help elderly hypertensive sufferers with depression change negative thought patterns or unproductive patterns that may as a trigger for the depression occurrence.

Background: Applying a smartphone health-App might suitable in the context of bachelor nursing students in Indonesia.Purpose: This study was conducted an smartphone health Apps and social media for bachelor nursing students to promote physical activity.Method: A quasy experiment with pre and post-test design included 80 bachelor nursing students with physical inactive by sample power to estimated, and recruited convinience samples from the nursing institutions. The eligible participants were randomly assigned to intervention or control group. The smartphone health-app group received electronic booklet of physical activity (PA) and health app combine with social media tool reinforcement during 12-week, and control group received usual care. Physical activity was measured using the questionaire and smartphone-health-app, and self-efficacy were assessed through extensive questionnaire. Data was analyzed within and between smartphone health-app and control groups to assess progarm using pair t-tests.Results: The primary outcome of promoting PA, there was a significant increase after 12-week of intervention, and significant difference between the groups was observed. The secondary outcomes, there was a significant increase in self-efficacy in both groups, and significant difference between groups.Conclusion: The intervention was successfully promoted PA of bachelor nursing students over 12-week. The intervention was designed to be simple for widespread implementation in a variety of bachelor nursing students and settings, as it requires no special equipment or previous PA knowledge.

Background: Patients with chronic renal failure who undergo physiological haemodialysis will experience unstable blood pressure, nausea, low haemoglobin value, cramped legs, difficulty sleeping, and dizziness when waking up. The patient feels tired, anxious, and then discovered the symptoms of fatigue and depression lead to a feeling of powerlessness.Purpose: To know of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for patients with chronic renal failure and a response to perceived powerlessness.Method: A quantitative study by a one-group pre-experimental design with a sample of 25 participants as patients with chronic renal failure under haemodialysis at Harapan dan Do'a Hospital. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The assessment of the response to powerlessness used a Likert scale questionnaire. The acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) delivered for 4 sessions.Results: The proof that there is a decrease in the score of powerlessness responses after acceptance and commitment therapy with a p-value of 0.00 and a different means after the intervention of 1.72Conclusion: There is an influence of commitment therapy (ACT) for patients with chronic renal failure and a response to perceived powerlessness.Hospital management to consider applying an acceptance and commitment therapy, and nurses to have a course that therapy especially nurses who conducted with chronic patients.

"Every human being is the creator of his own health or disease (Buddha)". A message of this quote is eat better, health better. Food is an important component and needed by the body to grow and develop as the body fuel. Mistakes in consuming food can be fatal. Therefore, knowledge about healthy eating is needed. Mostly, people refer the term “healthy eating” as a diet. These terms are interchangeable. The term "diet" is defined as restricting the amount of food or avoiding certain foods. Healthy eating is not merely counting the amount of foods, but rather the accuracy of choosing foods based on the need for balanced nutrition. A long with the GERMAS program regarding healthy eating guidelines, namely “Isi Piringku”, then we must understand about food ingredients and their nutritional content as well as balanced nutritional components containing carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The study aimed to construct the concept of healthy eating. The study applied Rodgers’ Evolutionary method for concept analysis. As the results, there are three dimensions of healthy eating involve physical, psychosocial, and biochemistry dimension. By considering these three dimensions of healthy eating, you will eat healthier.
