Abstract

Background: Anemia is a condition with lower hemoglobin and hematocrit levels. The number of iron deficiency in Indonesia among children aged 5 to 14 years is still quite high at 26.4%. Less knowledge in adolescent caused by the consumption of unhealthy food or light snacks.Purpose: To describe the relationship of  Iron deficiency anemia and  current state of knowledge among adolescent girls in 1st Mesuji Junior High School.Methods: The type of this research is an observational study with a cross-sectional method. The population of this study was members of all adolescent girls in class VIII and IX at 1st Mesuji Junior High School with the total is 87 respondents. Data collected by a questionnaire and analyzed used chi-square.Results: The most of the respondents 47 (54%) had poor knowledge about Iron deficiency anemia and experienced of Iron deficiency anemia 44 (50.6%) with p-value = 0.001.  Conclusion: There is a relationship between Iron deficiency anemia and  current state of knowledge among adolescent girls, Mesuji Junior High School in 2018.  It is recommended for school management to further improve health promotion or counseling about Iron deficiency anemia in adolescent girls, especially in prevention.

Abstract

Background: Traumatic brain injury  was most source morbidity and mortality at patient by real trauma. Traumatic brain injury  case who dead before to the hospital was caused by shock, hypoxemia and hypercapnia. So needed basic of knowledge and ability to take care of patient of breath disease.Purpose: To explore the factors that influence respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury  at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo hospital in Purwokerto, IndonesiaMethods: The kind of this research was correlation with using cross sectional approach. The population of this research was all patients with traumatic brain injury  in the emergency ward Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo hospital Purwokerto on November-Desember 2017. The sample take as 19 person. The analyzed used was Coefficient Contingency Test.Results: The result of this research shows that patient with traumatic brain injury had respiratory distress (57.9%) higher following by phlegm’s accumulation (52,6%) also had the decrease of consciousness (47,4%). There was real influence as statistic between phlegm’s accumulation and respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury (p=0.040). There was as statistically significant between the decrease of consciousness and respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury (p=0,009).Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was a statistically significant influence between decreased awareness of respiratory distress on traumatic brain injury (p=0.0009)

Abstract

Background: Hypertension or high blood pressure is still a high cause of death in the world. One factor in the occurrence of hypertension is poor nutritional status. Measurement of nutritional status is by knowing body mass index.Purpose: To describe the body mass index (BMI) values in patients with hypertension.Methods: Descriptive with cross sectional approach with consecutive sampling. The number of samples was 40 respondents. Data retrieval is measurement of blood pressure, height and weight. Data analyzed and made by frequencies and percentages.Results: The highest number of hypertension was in the age range of  60-74 years old and the highest gender in this research is women and hypertension in grade I with overweight body mass index values (35%), normal body mass index (62.5%).Conclusion: This study shows that hypertensive patients at Public Health Centre (Puskesmas Pasundan Garut) was show a high body mass index (BMI) value. By early detection to prevent of further severe complications and management of hypertension can be done to improve the quality of life.

Abstract

Background: Transgender is no longer classify a mental health illness from World Health Organization (WHO). The number of this community up to 3.9 million or 1.6% from Indonesia citizen. Transgender face social discrimination and stigma toward themselves as a result from community and family rejection. This condition could affected their process of self-acceptance and self-concept.Purpose: This study aimed to describe the self-acceptance and the self-concept among transgender in Indonesia    Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in transgender community at Srikandi Pamungkas, Lembang. This study used a convinience sampling and 30 respondents agreed to participate. Data was collected using self-questionnaire and consist of 52 item questions with.Results: This study showed that the total of transgender with good self-acceptance is 17 (56.7%) and good self-concept is 16 (53.3%)Conclusion: Most of the transgender in the transgender community had good self-acceptance and good self-concept from the support system in community environment.

Abstract

Background : Emergency conditions are conditions that occur suddenly and are very life-threatening, so help must be given quickly, precisely and correctly. One of the life-threatening conditions is cardiac arrest, which is a condition where the heart cannot function anymore, and requires collaboration between health personnel in providing help and this always ends in death. The incidence of cardiac arrest at the Ulin Regional General Hospital during May to June 2017 was 88 cases and most of the deaths occurred in patients. Cardiac arrest can still be saved by the correct nursing care process so that return of spontaneous circulation can occur.Purpose : Identify and explore the experience of nurses doing nursing care for cardiac arrest.Methods: This type of research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The number of participants in this study were 9 nurses in the emergency room and intensive care unit. The process of retrieving data using interview guides, and data analysis using Colaizzy.Results: This study obtained a major theme, "Collaborative Teamwork" when providing nursing care for cardiac arrest. This theme was formed from two sub-themes namely "division of job teams", "collaboration" and KIE to the patient's family.The participant describing the existence of maintained teamwork can help smooth the process of nursing cardiac arrest so that patients can return to the condition of return of spontaneous circulation.

Abstract

Background: Spinal anesthesia commonly can lead to urinary retention because the patient cannot feel his bladder is full and unable to initiate for voiding after the surgery. This is caused by bladder and sphincter muscles are unable to respond for voiding reflexes. One of nursing intervention to prevent of urinary retention is warm compress on supra pubic area for postoperative patient undergo spinal anesthesia.Purpose : This study was to examinethe effect of warm compress to recovery of voiding reflexes ont postoperativepatient undergo spinal anesthesia at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital, Bandar LampungMethods : A quasiexperimental study was conducted usingintervention and control groups with simple random sampling technique was applied. There were 30 postoperative patientsundergo spinal anesthesia were recruited at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital Bandar Lampung.Result : The mean score of intervention group with warm compression was 6.67 hours (ranging from 6to 8). The mean score of control group withoutwarm compress was7.13 hours (ranging from 5t o 9).Conclusion: Nursing intervention by applying warm compress is necessary to recovery of voiding reflex on postoperative patient with spinal anesthesia.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by an abnormality of insulin secretion, insulin work, or both. DM cases in Indonesia as many as 8,5 million cases in 2013. Prevalence based on diagnosis or symptoms according to the health departement of 2,1%.Purpose: To know the correlation of type 2 diabetes mellitus on triglyceride levels and blood pressureMethods: This study used secondary data derived from the medical record status of patients with diabetes mellitus. The method used is analytic observational with cross sectional approach. Sampling technique using purposive sampling. The population of this study is the diabetes mellitus type 2 in 2017 as many as 151. Sample of 109 respondents. Data analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi Square analysis.Results: The frequency of respondent characteristic on female gender as much 57,8%, based on age group >45 old counted 58,7%. Blood pressure frequency distribution found hypertension as much 63,3%. High frequency distribution of triglyceride levels is 67,9%. The Chi Square analysis result there is a significant correlation of type 2 diabetes mellitus on triglyceride levels and blood pressure with Odds Ratio 6,865 with p-value of 0,009.

Abstract

Background: A concept of physical activity level has been used wiely as a key variable in research. A clearly defined concept could help provide advance knowledge of the term and allow for analysis and clarification to ensure consistency in meaning and understandingPurpose: this concept analyses was examined the concept of physical activity levels that can be applied in clinical situation.Methods: Walker and Avant evolutionary method of concept analysis was used to collect and analyse the data. The CINAHL, MEDLINE, Ovid, and PubMed databases were searched for publications from 1990–2020. Search terms included physical activity, physical activity level, moderate-intensity of physical activity, and concept analysis. Data were analysed with particular focus on the attributes, antecedents and consequences of the concept.Results: Defining attributes of physical activity level were identified as personal to express number of daily physical activity (include intensity, frequency and duration) and to estimate a total of energy expenditure. Antecedents for physical activity to occur there should be living, conscious being to experience it, can movement or activity, and healthy. Consequences of physical activity levels viewed on a continuum from negative and positive.Conclusion: This concept analysis provided an in-depth analysis and clarification of physical activity levels. Studies needed to explore physical activity level for specific risk group likes high-risk of diabetes; behavior and psychological aspects influences physical activity level; trend and issues of physical activity level related with transcultural aspects; and government support to promote physical activity program.

Abstract

Background: Pain during labor is a physiological condition experienced by almost all maternity mothers. The hardest time, and most mothers begin to feel pain or pain at the time of delivery is when I active phase.Purpose: To known the effect of listening to holy Qur'an recitation on labor pain in the first stage of laborMethods: A quantitative by experimental  quasi  research  design,  with one group pretest - posttest design approach. The population of all who are on the first stage of labor. By purpose sampling technique got of 15 respondents. Data analysis with t-test.Results: Finding of the average pain before listening to holy Qur'an recitation of 5.93, and after intervention  of 3.93. Knowing there is Effect of listening to holy Qur'an recitation on labor pain in the first stage of labor. T test results obtained p value 0,000 <α (0.05). It is recommended for hospital management, especially midwives, to provide therapy to listening to holy Qur'an recitation as alternative to reduce of labor pain in the first stage of labor

Abstract

Background: Base on data in Lampung-Indonesia in 2017 of 182,815 pregnant women in the first trimester pregnancy, recorded a high number of emesis gravidarum by 50-90%, while hyperemesis gravidarum reached 10-15%.Purpose: To know the effect of mint oil on nausea and vomiting during pregnancyMethods: A quantitative research by pre-experimental research design (one group pretest posttest). The population was pregnant women in the first trimester  complain of nausea and vomiting of 36 pregnant women taken by total sampling and by criteria inclusion found of 30 pregnant women. Univariate data analysis which presents the percentage of pappermint administration to reduce nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. Bivariate analysis proves the hypothesis whether there is an effect of pappermint oil aromatherapy to reduce nausea and vomiting of pregnant women by statistical test used is the T-test.Results: The average a complain of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women before being given aromatherapy pappermint oil it was 17.50 and after being given aromatherapy pappermint oil it was 10.60. Effect of aromatherapy pappermint oil to reduce of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women (p-value 0,000 <α 0.05).Conclusion: There was effect of Aromatherapy Pappermint Oil to reduce of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. It is recommended  to pregnant women who experience of nausea and vomiting can be treated with alternative therapy by aromatherapy peppermint which has been proven to reduce nausea and vomiting.
