Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Elderly Health problems can lead to decline in elderly body functions and become a factor that improves health problems. As a result, many elderly people come to public health services every day with the same complaints and different complaints.Purpose: to recognize the description of health problems among the elderly at Majalaya  public health centers (Puskesmas) West Java-IndonesiaMethods: A descriptive research with documentation study. The object of research is medical records of elderly who went to public health center during the last 1 year from April 2017 until March 2018. The number of samples is 3899 elderly based on elderly visit number gained by total sampling technique. The technique of data collection is through elderly medical records at Majalaya Public Health Centre during  the last 1 year. This research uses frequency distribution and proportion analysis.Results: Showed that almost all elderly came independently without being escorted by their families and hypertension was the highest-ranking health problems experienced by elderly (40,9%) others were rheumatoid atritis (14,9%), cough  and flu (8.2%) , gastritis (7,9%) and chepalgia (7.6%) , they were the 5th highest health problems experienced by the elderly at Majalaya Public Health center during the last 1 year.Conclusion: Among 22 health problems that are experienced by elderly, hypertension is the most common problem complained by elderly. It is recommended that health care workers optimize services regarding the handling and treatment of chronic health problems among elderly.

Abstract

Background: At the time of hospitalization of children, they feel uncomfortable such as an anxiety. Statistics data base in 2010 in Indonesia reported that in 35 of 420 children has stress during hospitalization. However during hospitalization the children must be cooperate in treatment for recovery.Purpose: Knowing the influence of play therapy: origami and puzzles for reducingan anxiety to children at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital, Bandar Lampung-Indonesia 2018.Methods: Quantitative researchwith design used quasi-experimental. The study population was all patient at pediatric ward at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital, Bandar Lampung Indonesiawith 50 children as sampleand used instruments: Zung Self-Rating Scale (ZSRAS) and Tailor Manifest Anxiety Scale (T-MAS).The statistical analysis used an independent T test.Results: Finding significane different of the total score of anxiety before and after play therapy (before play therapy: origami and puzzle were 20.2and20.7) and (after play therapy: origami and puzzle were 14.9 and 12.7). The total score rates was descrease of 5.27 in origami therapy and of 8.0 in puzzle therapy with p-value of 0.000.Conclusion: There was differences effect in both of play therapy: origami and puzzle to reducing an anxiety.It is suggestions to management hospital to provide play therapy such as origami and puzzle as an alternative therapy to reduce anxiety to the children due to hospitalization and thus supporting the healing process.

Abstract

Background: Worm infection was an environment-based disease caused by nematode class worms’ intestine and transmitted through the soil. This condition could effect to their ability in school-age children to pay attentiont during the lessons.Purpose: To determine the determinants of roundworms in elementary school students in Silahisabungan Subdistrict (Dairi) , North Sumatera, Indonesia.Methods: The case-control design with a total sample of 150 students taken from 5 elementary schools starting in grade 5 and 6. This research instrument used a questionnaire.Results: That there was no effect between hand washing habits at OR 1.90 (95% Cl: 0.697 - 5.180), there was no effect on nail hygiene by OR 1.19 (95% Cl: 0.505-2828), there was no the influence of footwear use amounting to OR 1.68 (95% Cl: 0.672-2225), there was an influence of the source of clean water of OR = 17.17 (95% Cl: 1,800-1 163,78) and there is an effect of providing latrines at OR = 5.55 (95% Cl : 1,128-27,398).Suggestion: To students to be pay more attention in their personal hygiene, propose to teachers to be able to regularly check the student hygiene such as nail hygiene and make a source of information media in the school environment. Finally, this study asked the health centers to conduct child health screening and conduct counseling about personal hygiene.

Abstract

Background: Type II Diabetes Mellitus is the most common non-communicable diseases among the elderly. Several modifiable and non-modifiable factors contributed to the occurrence of these diseases.Purpose: Describing of the factors related to the occurrence of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus among the elderly at an integrated development post non- communicable diseases (Posbindu PTM Way Halim) Bandar Lampung-Indonesia.Methods: The type of this research is quantitative, from database in the medical record with total of 74 by purposive random sampling. Data analyzed by univariate and bivariate (chi-squared).Results: Smoker (p-value =  0.016; OR 3.429), physical activity (p-value = 0,000 ; OR 7.467) and waist circumference (p-value = 0.011 OR 4,091). Those were main factors that influence  to the occurrence of DM among eldely. Conclusion: It is suggested to management Public Health Services (Puskesmas) to establish a more integrated development post non- infectious diseases (Posbindu) to reach all the elderly. By controlling all of the factors that influence the occurrence of type II DM in various ways, so that the elderly will have a better life and prevent the complications

Abstract

Background: Acute appendicitis is one of the most common acute abdominal pain. A late check up and diagnosis could bring harms which is turning into perforated appendicitis. Leukocyte count is a laboratory collation that is generous and quick to diagnose the acute apendicitis and perforated appendicitis, however there’s no certain limit of the leukocytes count to recognize whether it is acute apendicitis or perforated appendicitis.Purpose: This research was to find out the comparison of leucocyte count average between acute appendicitis and perforation appendicitis in Dr. H. Abdul Moeleok public hospital of Lampung province in 2014-2016.Methods: An analytic research with cross sectional approach. Population was 382 patients with appendicitis in Dr. Hi. Abdul Moeloek public hospital. Samples were taken using total sampling technique with 196 respondent samples for acute appendicitis and 196 respondent samples for perforation appendicitis. Data were analyzed by using univariate analysis with percentage and bivariate analysis with t-test.Results: the average of leucocyte count of acute appendicitis patients was 10,907 with minimum and maximum leucocyte count of 5,000 and 18,500 respectively. The average of leucocyte count of perforation appendicitis patients was 22,789 with minimum and maximum leucocyte count of 16,500 and 31,000 respectively. There were differences of leucocyte counts between acute appendicitis patients and perforation appendicitis patients with p-value < 0.05.Conclusion: there were significant differences of leucocyte count averages between acute appendicitis and perforation appendicitis.

Abstract

Background: Dysmenorrhea is an event that occurs during menstruation that occurs and causes teenage girls  are absent from school and daily activities. Based on the results of the survey on November at  Bandar Lampung high school, of the 10 teenage girls who had menstruation as many as 7 (70%)  often complian of severe pain  during menstruation.Purpose: Knowning the effect of cinnamon on pain among teenage girls with primary dysmenorrhea in Lampung IndonesiaMethods: The quantitative research, the design of this study is Pre-experimental with the on-group pretest-posttest approach. The population was teenage girls in grade X and XI at Bandar Lampung  high school and samples were 30 teenagers. Sampling of this research was using purposive sampling technique which was carried out from April, 2019  to Juli, 2019. The analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the T test.Results: The mean of dysmenorrhea before consumption was 6.67 and after consumption was 2.13 . The effect of cinnamon on pain among teenage girls with primary dysmenorrhea with p-value 0.00 <0.05.Conclusion: The significant effect of cinnamon on pain among teenage girls with primary dysmenorrheain at Bandar Lampung 13th high school in 2019. Finding in this study could be applied as alternative therapy for teenager and further research need more deep exlporation.

Abstract

Background: The period of pregnancy and postpartum is the period when hormonal imbalance and adjustment become a mother (social factor) that makes a woman transition both physically and psychologically. Physically, the phases of pregnancy and postpartum greatly contribute to the increasing rate of obesity in women.Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between body mass index and postpartum women's anxiety level in Sukabumi City in 2014.Methods: This research type is survey research using Cross Sectional method. The target population of the study was women who underwent labor in Sukabumi city of West Java with a sample of 97 people using random sampling technique.Results: From the analysis of the relationship between body mass index and postpartum anxiety level there was a significant relationship. From the results of analysis of body mass index relationship with mild anxiety level and moderate-severe anxiety there is no significant relationship.Discussion: The need to provide counseling about preparing before pregnancy or before birth in women. So that women are ready physically and mentally in pregnancy and labor so that it can reduce the number of anxiety disorders in postpartum women.

Abstract

Background: Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) is one form of community based health efforts which is managed and implemented by volunteer community health workers. That performance is very important to monitor the toddlers. The coverage of toddlers weighed at Ngaras at public health Service has decreased by 2014 reached of 87.0% in 2015 reached of 100.4% in 2016 reached of 64.0% but in 2017 it only reached of 68,2%.Purpose: To know the correlation of knowledge, motivation, training among volunteer community health workers at public health services West Pesisir Province of Lampung  2018.Methods: Quantitative research type with cross sectional design and population recruited  all of volunteer community health workers. Data collected by using questionnaire sheets. Analysis of data used univariate and bivariate (Chi Square).Results: The results showed that the volunteer community health workers have best performance with number of 45 volunteers (69,2%) comparing with who has a poor performance with number of 20 volunteer (30,8%). Based on bivariate analysis following in several parts of the volunteer such as knowledge with  p-value of 0,001 OR 4,889 (1,5 to 15,3 95% CI), motivation with p-value 0,034 OR 3,778 (1,2 to 11,4 95% CI), and the training with p-value 0,009 OR 5,429 (1,6 to 17,8 95% CI).Conclusion: There is a relation of knowledge, motivation and training for the performance of volunteer community health workers. It is suggested to management of public health centre on Ngaras to conduct more intensive training related to volunteer training which includes knowledge sharing which will improve on volunteer community health workers performance on task, and motivation to intensify duty of passion of volunteer community health workers

Abstract

Background: An earthquake has  an impact on mental health problems. Lombok earthquake victims undergo an anxiety, neurotic, psychotic symptoms, and Post Traumatic Syndrome Disease. Anxiety have an impact on the mind, body and it cause of physical illness. One of the nursing interventions that can be given to deal with anxiety includes spiritual counseling, which is given so that disaster victims accept their conditions, it is not making disaster a burden and reducing anxiety.Purpose: To determine the effect of Spiritual counseling on anxiety level  in (Lombok) Indonesian earthquake victims.Methods: Quantitative study with a pre-experimental approach using one group pre-post-test design on 25 earthquake victims in Lombok. The instrument was used the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale  questionnaire and the standard operational procedures for spiritual counseling. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and t dependent test.Results: The anxiety score before spiritual counseling was 19.60 ± 3.26, while the anxiety score after spiritual counseling was 10.04 ± 4.13. Statistical tests showed a significant difference between anxiety levels before and after spiritual counseling for earthquake victims in Lombok (p <0.05).Conclusion: Earthquake victims in order to improve their spiritual quality by joining religious activities routinely to calm the mind and reduce anxiety or trauma, it is caused by earthquakes.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus ranks 8th out of 10 major diseases in Lampung province with a prevalence of 0.4%. Based on Rikesdas Lampung Province results in 2013 it is known that DM pavelence reaches 0.7% with pravelensi in Bandar Lampung reaches 0.8% and for Public Health Services (Puskesmas) Panjang in 2017 cases of DM was found as much as 2145.Purpose: Knowing that the relation family roles and blood glucose management  in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Bandar Lampung, IndonesiaMethods: This was quantitative research type with analytical survey design and cross sectional approach. Population in this research were all patient of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Type 2 in April 2018, at Puskesmas Panjang Bandar Lampung and the samples were 79 respondents given of questioner. The statistical test used is Chi Square test.Results: The frequency distribution of respondents aged between 60-69 years 54 (68.4%) respondents, female of 54 (68.4%) respondents, primary elementary education (45.6%) respondents, Duration of DM ≥ 5 years of 42 (53.2%) respondents, uncontrol blood sugar as many as 53 respondents (67.1%), poor family roles as many as 42 (53.2%) respondents, with p-value 0,000.Conclusion: There the relation of family roles and blood glucose management  in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Bandar Lampung, IndonesiaSuggestions: The management of Public Health Centre (Puskesmas) to give counseling to the family about the importance of family roles and blood glucose management  in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
