Abstract

Productivity becomes a dominant issue in the construction services industry. High productivity will result in efficient use of resources and cost savings, so that construction companies will achieve adequate profit and have a high competitiveness (competitiveness). Labor productivity can be affected by the energy it consumes and the regular schedule of rest breaks. Rest is needed to restore the physical and mental fitness of the workforce. This research was conducted on 37 masons of building construction work. The work under study is a masonry job. The results showed that age, education, and experience did not significantly affect the productivity. Break time masons, in the form of stolen breaks and management factors, quite a lot ie 1 to 6 minutes per observation (30 minutes). Based on heart rate examination, there is a decrease in productivity in the afternoon. But the mason has not been exhausted yet. So it can be concluded that the amount of break time stolen by the mason in the middle of work greatly affects the stamina of the mason.Keyword : masons, Rest time, Productivity

Abstract

Solar or solar energy can be an alternative source of energy in the future, where solar energy can be converted into electrical energy by utilizing the photoelectric effect that occurs in photovoltaic components or solar cells.  Solar cells or photovoltaic components can convert sunlight into electrical energy that can be used directly by the load or stored in a battery, a kind of electrochemical device that can store electrical charges in the form of chemical energy. The electrical energy generated by the solar cell is influenced by the intensity of light received by the sun. To gain the desired power and voltage, the solar cells are connected in series and parallel into a solar cell module. 2N3055 & MJ2955 transistor based solar panels are the basic materials for designing alternative power generation. In the process of manufacture, this solar panel utilizes the components of used components that are still feasible to use, so it can be used to be the appropriate technology to produce a solar panel that utilizes solar energy in the form of sunlight and solar heat. In this study also conducted experiments using glass components as a reflection effect from light sources. The result of this experiment obtained that the amount of electrical energy output resulting from the reflection effect of light by using 2N3055 transistor and MJ2955 transistor can produce increased current and increase electrical power.Keywords: Solar cell, Transistor 2N3055 & MJ2955, The effect of reflection light

Abstract

The increasing of palm oil mills as a result of an increase in public interest of land exploitation to produce  palm oil can cause high environmental pollution if the waste oil generated were not managed properly. Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is the wastewater generated by palm oil extraction process. On the other hand, POME is a renewable energy source. To address the need for electrical energy increases, the monitoring of POME is an effort that needs to be studied because POME is no longer a pollutant to the environment but a helpful resource.This study uses field data collection in the form of POME volume and treatment plant process management to determine the COD levels so that the estimation of total biogas can be done. Based on the calculation of the energy potential of POME in Jambi province with  processing capacity of the entire Province amounted to 1,230 tons FFB / hour, 20 hours operating time / day and COD content of 50,000 mg / L, the amount of energy can be obtained is 737.712 MWh / day or 269.26 GWh / Year.Keywords: POME, biogas, energy

Abstract

The mixture of asphalt sand or often called as LATASIR (a thin Layer of asphalt Sand) is often used on the streets as light as local roads or road environment, in order to restrain the rate of water so as not to enter into pores in it. This mixture consists only of fine aggregate or sand or a mixture of both, so of coarse aggregate is not found in its alloy, so have the resilience of the Groove (rutting) are low and cannot be used on roads with heavy traffic or the area slopes. To improve the quality of asphalt mixture Latasir then do the addition of waste tire rubber out of the motor. This research was conducted with the marshall test asphalt plan levels, with 7%, 8%, 9%, 10% and 11% in advance. After obtained the value levels of Optimum Asphalt (KAO), then do the test with the addition of marshall rubber tyres outside the motor of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% against weight. The research results obtained a value of 9.8%, KAO then conducted testing of marshall by using a variation of the rubber tyres outside the motor changes characteristic of Marshall, the degree of suppleness and durability is better, but there is a cavity the air that many great VIM or value, so that the value of the VFA became small. From all levels of rubber in asphalt has a great degree of flexibility in rubber 3%, but that filled the whole terms of the 2010 revision 3 technical specifications on levels of 1.5% rubber.Keywords: Latasir Mixture, KAO, Waste Rubber Tyres Outside Motor, Marshall

Abstract

The function of the Airport is like a terminal which in this case serves passenger aircraft as a stop, departure, or just an airplane stopover. at the airport there are various kinds of series of activities related to aircraft, such as transporting / dropping passengers and goods, conducting refueling, aircraft maintenance, aircraft damage repair, and so forth. The apron is part of the airport which is the area used in accommodating the aircraft to load and disassemble or degrade passengers and freight, park, and refuel. Pavement is the main structure in apron construction. This means that the apron is required to be able to accept and bear the aircraft load and traffic on it is planned properly. This study aims to calculate the rigid apron pavement construction designed so as to obtain pavement with carrying capacity capable of serving air traffic in accordance with the aircraft traffic plan.Keywords: Airport, Apron, Rigid Pavement

Abstract

Concrete has less good properties, ie brittle so it is not strong enough to withstand tensile. To overcome the bad nature of the concrete can be done by adding fiber (fiber) on the concrete mix. The goal is to reinforce concrete with fiber that is spread uniformly into a concrete mix. The commonly used fibers are made of steel, polymer, or glass fiber. One type of fiber that can be used is roselle fiber which is the material of the burlap maker which belongs to the category of natural fiber. This research was conducted with the aim to know the compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete due to the influence of the addition of jute fiber. Variation of mixed fiber used is 0%, 1% and 3%. The test specimens were used in the form of a cylinder with a diameter of 15 cm and a length of 30 cm for a compressive strength test of 3 pieces and a tensile strength test of 3 pieces for each variation of the jute fiber mixture used. The results showed that with the addition of jute fiber decreased the value of workability. The unit weight of concrete decreases with increasing fiber content. Concrete strength and concrete tensile strength decrease with increasing jute fiber.Keywords: Concrete, Fiber, Compressive Strength, Tensile Strength

Abstract

Flooding as one of the big problems in Jambi City can be overcome by arranging drainage and drainage system for flood control. However, excess water during floods and used in anticipation of water shortages during the dry season has not been widely studied. The basic principle of water utilization is the engineering into a system of absorption wells or also known as water conservation which aims to prevent or minimize the lost water as the flow of the surface and store it as much as possible into the earth. The study was conducted in Jambi City, taking a case study of housing by conducting engineering to the housing drainage system so that new designs are emerging. The analysis is in the form of field observation and data analysis. This residential location is located in Paalmerah Village with 78/105 building type and there are 23 units of buildings with garden facilities and security. The results show that based on the intensity of rainfall, the dimensions of absorption wells and reservoirs can be determined for Jatayu housing. The dimension of absorption well is with the diameter of circle 1m and height 1.89 m while for the storage tub dimension is rectangular cross section with size 2m x 1.5 m x 1.5 m.Keywords: rainfall, water conservation, efficiency

Abstract

Lead Content Analysis (Pb) On Snack Road Ir. H. Juanda City Jambi increasingly proliferation of street vendors snack on the street where the activity is quite crowded, allowing snacks that are sold can be contaminated by lead (Pb) coming from motor vehicle fumes. This study aims to determine the content of lead on street snacks and compared with the maximum limit of lead food in snack foods that have been determined by the Director General of POM in the decision of Director General of POM Number HK.00.06.1.52.4011 Year 2009 on the maximum limit of metal contamination in food that is 0,25 ppm. This research is a descriptive research that gives a picture of lead content in snack. The study was conducted on traders selling fried foods at Street H. Juanda Jambi City. Sampling using total sampling technique where for each place of sale taken three kinds of fried foods such as fried bananas, tofu contents and bakwan. Examination of laboratory test of Environment Department (DLH) Province Jambi Year 2017 got big parameter of S02 equal to 19.5 μg/nm3 whereas standard quality standard set PP. 41 of 1999 on the ambient air quality of 900 μg/nm3, for the parameter N02 of 23.0 μg/nm3, while the standard quality standard set PP. 41 of 1999 on ambient air quality of 400 μg/nm3, for lead parameters (Pb) with the result 0.082 μg/nm3, while the standard quality standard established PP. 41 year 1999 About ambient air quality of 2 μg/nm3 and dust parameter with result 80 μg/nm3 while standard quality standard set PP. 41 of 1999 on ambient air quality of 230 μg/nm3. The content of timbale in banana snack food is 0,0850%, for food bakwan is 0.0008% and for food tofu content is 0,1505% so it has not exceed the maximum limit of metal contamination in food which has been determined by Dirjen POM in decision of Dirjen POM Number HK.00.06.1.52.4011 Year 2009 is 0.25 ppm.Keywords : Ambient Air Quality, Lead (Pb), snack food
