Abstract

In everyday life, particularly in hospitals, people typically use cloth or tissue to dry our hands. It seems less practical, effective and hygienic. In addition, some restaurants still use cloth or tissue as well. To overcome this problem, several hospitals and restaurants have provided hand dryers. It can dry hands but cannot eliminate germs or bacteria. It is necessary to create a hand dryer equipped with a sterilizer. This work, therefore, created a hand dryer that can simultaneously dry and sterilize hands that worked automatically using the ATMega8 microcontroller. The tool was designed by using an infrared sensor to detect hands, and an ATMEGA8 microcontroller to read and process the sensors to activate UV and heating. The results found that the tool equipped with UV and heating can dry hands while eliminating bacteria and germs.

Abstract

The automatic system satellite signal strength tracking model through the positioning of the receiving antenna is one way to reduce the problem of attenuation and signal strength instability which is quite influential in tracking the satellite orbit position. The method of applying the antenna movement technique by adjusting the azimuth and elevation angles is possible to detect the position of the satellite orbit trajectory accurately. Therefore, the expected goal is to know the existence of the satellite's orbital trajectory and ensure that the signal strength it transmits will always be stable in all conditions. The empirical quantitative method is used to support the achievement of these objectives where the technique is carried out through field observations and device design involving calculations and applied mathematical equations based on information on satellite position data as a tracking object as well as a source of signal strength. Based on the test results, it shows that all the positions of the tracked satellite orbital trajectories produce a minimum and maximum azimuth-elevation angle of 0.52% - 4.02% and 0.25% - 3.99% when the system detects NSS6. Furthermore, when the system detects Palapa D, the minimum values for the percentage of maximum deviation error are 0.6% and 4.67% with a tolerance of the alignment angle to the satellite of 20. Overall, the designed system is able to track the position of the satellite's orbit path based on the level of signal strength stability on the parabolic receiver antenna which is designed with a small percentage of angle error.

Abstract

Propagation modeling is the most important part of mobile wireless network planning. Wireless network planning requires an accurate calculation of the path, which depends on different environmental conditions. It requires accurate path loss modeling of the characteristics of a specific region. The study aimed to obtain a path loss propagation model by modifying the ECC model and using linear, logarithmic regression in lowland areas. The measurement used drive test method, located in the Jakabaring area that represented the lowland area. This research used four existing path loss models, namely Okumura-Hatta, COST-Hatta, Ericsson Model, and ECC Model. It was found that the Okumura-Hatta model had the largest RMSE value, 34.90, followed by the Ericsson model, 27.07, while the ECC model had the smallest RMSE value, 8.43. The ECC model required to be modified using logarithmic, linear regression to obtain the proposed model. The results of the evaluation showed that the proposed model improved with RMSE 4.93, MAPE 2.71, and MAD 3.91, whereas the values of the existing ECC Model before modification were 8.43 for RMSE, 4.72 for MAPE and 7.09 for MAD. The proposed model provided an accurate prediction of the path loss propagation in a lowland environment. The results of the study can be used for planning engineers to plan, design, and implement the wireless communication networks in lowland area conditions.

Abstract

Wear and tear are usually caused by various factors, which reduce the life span of a mechanical part. In the control engineering of an Electrohydraulic actuator system, the wear and tear can be caused by the system or the controller itself. This article examines the chattering effect that occurs during the sliding mode controller (SMC) design, and its effect on the nonlinear electrohydraulic actuator (EHA) system. To examine the chattering phenomenon, signum function is first applied on the switching function of the SMC. Then, parameters of the controller are obtained using single objective particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. These parameters are then applied to the switching function with hyperbolic tangent function. Lastly, the performance of both functions is analysed and compared based on graph and numerical data. From the output data, chattering phenomenon generated on the signum function is greatly eliminated by using hyperbolic tangent function.

Abstract

In recent years, because of the limitations of fossil fuels and emissions resulting from the use of photovoltaic cells increase. Due to the changing state of the sun, solar cells must follow the sun's radiation to receive more energy. But, in this research, the modeling and analysis of the solar tracking system were carried out to obtain the optimal angle in photovoltaic systems for generating maximum power using genetic algorithm (GA). In this paper, the control system is proposed by the GA genetic algorithm that optimizes the output energy of the PV system by adjusting the spatial angles of the solar panel in both vertical and horizontal axes. In this method, without the need for additional hardware, the optimal panel position angles are calculated by using the Matlab software to capture the most sun and maximize output energy. The main advantage is that the system operates discretely during operation and losses are reduced, as well as in the clouds, solar radiation is received and the output energy rises. The important results of this study can be the system is optimized, the output power of the photovoltaic system in a fixed array mode increases by 15.85%.

Abstract

An incubator room is conditioned to keep the temperature warm so the baby feels comfortable. A temperature monitor system for the incubator room placed separately from where the officer works is a hassle. It wastes time. Temperature detector design for infant incubator which has constant temperature is necessary. An LM35 sensor as a temperature detector was used in the design. The sensor was installed in a 100 x 80 cm room. The detected temperature was displayed on the LCD and computer in the staff room. Temperature (°C) is converted by an Arduino Uno microcontroller into an ADC (Analog Digital to Converter) value. Several LM35 sensors were mounted in rooms to detect the temperature. The LM 35 sensor was used by considering that it can be calibrated directly in the Celsius scale, a linear scale factor of 10mV/°C and has a temperature range between -55 ° C and 150 ° C.

Abstract

With the improvement of sensing technology, the improvement of software and hardware technology and computer operation ability, the digital twin technology has been further developed with the promotion of industrial intelligence and industrial information system. Digital twin technology is gradually applied to the simulation design and optimization of complex production line. The production line of super capacitor is a kind of complex production lines, so many factors need to be considered in the design process. Therefore, the digital twin technology is used to design the production line. In this paper, the plant simulation software of Siemens company is used to simulate the super capacitor production line, so as to verify the rationality of the application of digital twin technology in the complex production line design process, and study the influence of AGV car characteristics on the production line. Simulation in virtual space can well demonstrate the actual production process. The failure and other factors in the actual production process can be replaced in the form of failure rate in the simulation environment. Data statistics and other functions can directly see the changes of various parameters in the production line, to get a better optimization scheme.

Abstract

Earthquake is a vibration  that occur on the surface of the earth, earthquakes are usually caused by the movement of the earth's crust (earth's plates). Earthquakes are also used to indicate the area from which the earthquake occurred. Even though our earth is solid, it always moves and earthquakes occur when the pressure caused by that movement is too large to be able to withstand. One of the effects of the earthquake vibration itself that reaches the earth's surface and if the vibration is large enough can damage buildings and other infrastructure such as roads and bridges, railroad tracks, dams and others, causing casualties and property losses. So that we can avoid the danger caused by an earthquake, it is necessary to design an earthquake detection device with a pendulum swing method based on the ATMega328 Microcontroller. The ATMega328 microcontroller is the core of all the systems that exist in this design. In the design of earthquake measuring device using infrared sensors and photodiodes. Where the infrared beam construction is determined by the pendulum which detects the swing.

Abstract

Social engineering is a common method to collect more information from victim trough socialization. This method employs human psychology to manipulate other people. In cyber society today, the attacker could use various methods to tapping into victim smartphone, and after that the attacker can get victim persona profiling information. The attacker can select random victim and then using wireless localization methods, the attacker could found its victim. After the random victim has been found the attacker can start social engineering directly to the victim based on persona profiling information, to gain trust and more personal information that can lead inflicting damage to the victim. In this paper, we demonstrate to localize victim using green obaidat calibrate Path loss Propagation models and $4 dollar device based on victim Smartphone RSSI Wi-Fi Signal. With this device we could localize a person within 15 meter with just only 0.64 dbm in difference between our RSSI measurement and simulation.
