Abstract

Sintesis senyawa organic dengan microwave (MAOS) ditinjau dari aspek Kimia Hijau (Green Chemistry) menunjukkan hasil yang positif. Sebuah contoh penerapan pada sintesis senyawa organik yang juga hijau yakni hidroksimetilfurfural menunjukkan kebanyakan aspek 12 prinsip Kimia Hijau terpenuhi. Abstract

Long peanut is one of the sources of protein which is easy to develop in every region. The problem of increasing the production of Long peanut is the existence of pest that destroys Long peanut. Pestwhich attack Long peanut is Aphis craccivora. In relation to that, it has been done a research about the population of  Aphis craccivora of Long peanut in regency of  Kuranji, Kuranji district,Padang. This research had been done on Mey 2007 in a garden of a farmer.  This research used descriptive method, that is the observation directly to the field, and the data collection used Chemical Knock Down technique. Identification is done in the Laboratory of HPT department, Agriculture faculty,University ofAndalas,Padang. From this research, it is found that the population of Aphis craccivora is 83, 62 per plant. The population of Aphis craccivora is above the economic line.Key words: population, long peanut,  Aphis craccivora, density

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the magnetic properties of sediments from Teluk Katurai Siberut island Mentawai islands. The study on sediment samples from Teluk Katurai had been carried out by using three methods, i.e., measurements of AMS (Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility) to determine the anisotropy shape of magnetic susceptibility, IRM (Isothermal Remanent Magnetization) to identify the their magnetic minerals contains based on the saturation curve, and AAS (Anisotropy of Anhysteretic Susceptibility) that produce anhisteritik susceptibility. From the stereonet plot and other anisotropy parameters were obtained that ellipsoid susceptibility form is oblate. It was also obtained that the type of magnetic mineral is magnetite based on magnetic saturation curves. Meanwhile the identification of grain size distribution was obtained by plotting the value of AMS versus AAS. The plots showed the magnetic grains of sediment was approximately 0.2 µm to 0.1µm.Key words: magnetic susceptibility, anisotropy, anhisteritic susceptibility

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus infection can be treated with Methicilin, ? lactam class of antibiotics that have drug targets in the cell wall. Bacteria S. aureus that is resistant to methicillin called methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). One alternative that can be used in strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that have this is to use medicinal plants. This study aimed to know the ability of medicinal plant extracts inhibit the growth of bacterial strains of MRSA. This kind of research is experimental research. Medicinal plants tested were Garlic, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Daun Salam, Curcuma, Ginger, Betel Leaf and Alpinia galanga. As a control, which is used Amphicillin, ? lactam antibiotic class. The method used to determine the diameter of inhibition area of medicinal plant extracts is paper diffusion method. The results showed that all medicinal plants can inhibit bacterial growth of MRSA strains characterized by the inhibition zone formed on each treatment. The ability of garlic and turmeric extract better than Amphicillin and other medicinal plants to inhibit bacterial growth of MRSA strains.Kata kunci: inhibit,  growth, bacteria, methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

Abstract

This research studied about the the respondents characteristic at the legislative general pre-election in 2009. The researcher used statistic analysis to see the association and structural connection between variables as the characteristic of voters? behavior. The data used in this study is gotten from the result of a survey on voters? behavior in the form of counting and category data, that?s why the statistic methods used was CHAID. Analysis of CHAID showed that the variables having the strongest association with the party choice is age. CHAID method at the analysis of respondent characteristics of voters in the election resulted in five segments of the party choice of respondents. In each segment, the old party is still the party that is trusted by respondents to represent their voice in parliament.Key words: voting behavior, interaction, chi-square, CHAID method

Abstract

In the coastal area of west Sumatra, specially west Sumatra represent area which is gristle will of the earthquake, since in the coastal area of west Sumatra can be found plate subduction area active that is Indo-Australia plate to Eurasia plate with necromancy average angle is 31,330 and average speed 6-7 cm/year, and sesar area that spread in the as far as Sumatra Island that caused by necromancy sideway Indo-Australia plate to Eurasia. Aims of this research is creating visualization imaging subduction of   Indo-Australia plate toEurasia and change of surface morphology. Method of this research is Development research method or R&D, Data of this research based on old research (Akmam, 2006) and visual imaging from Natawijaya (2005). Abstract

The gasoline purity test has been carried out in several retailers inPadangcity using Mercury atomic absorption spectroscopy method. As an object of study was taken 10 samples of gasoline were sold in stalls scattered retailers in the city ofPadang, for subsequent comparison with standard samples that taken from Pertamina Teluk Kabung Padang. Spectrum produced by each sample was analyzed based percentage difference between the spectrum peak, the angle position and the sample wavelength. To determine the level of gas purity, the mixing gasoline with kerosene have been done with the percentage ratio of 5% to 25%. From this research, it appears that gasoline retailers in the region of Batas Kota, Air Pacah and Pasar Baru indicating that the mixing of gasoline and kerosene to achieve the highest percentage, namely 25.3%, 23.2% and 17.2%. Meanwhile, the regions with the lowest percentage of blending gasoline and kerosene are in the area of Tunggul Hitam, Kuranji and Bungus, namely 3.7%, 5.0% and 4.9%.Key words: purity, gasoline, several retailers, atomic spectrum

Abstract

This research study about use of prebiotic Ipomea batatas L. and probiotic  Lactobacillus casei at milk fermentation. The usage of simbiotic increase, recentely, especially, for husbandarys products, such as milk fermentation the purpose of this study was to find out the best composition of prebiotic  Ipomoea batatas L and probiotic Lactobacillus casei given in the process of simbiotic milk fermentation. The method used for this experiment was random cluster, factorial 4 x 3 with 3 times of re-treatment, and was analyzed with BNT and BNJ testing. ?A? factor was the use of prebiotic Ipomoea batatas L. (0%, 7,5 %, 15 %, 22,5 %), and ?B? factor was the use of probiotic Lactobacillus casei (2%, 3%, 4 %) the component measure were BAL , water and TTA the result of this study was shown that the best use of prebiotic Ipomoea batatas L and probiotic Lactobacillus casei in the process of symbiotic milk fermentation were in the composition of highest BAL : 21,40 x 108 cfu/ml. the highest TTA and water were 0,21 % and 71,98 22,5 %  of prebiotic Ipomoea batatas L.  and 4% probiotic Lactobacillus casei consentrate. Key words: prebiotic, Ipomea batatas L., probiotic,  Lactobacillus casei, milk fermentatio

Abstract

This research was found effectivity and correlation Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on number of growth Candida albicans in vitro incubation. Dilution method was use to dilute suspension of C. albicans on Sabouraud's medium. Then, C. albicans was account at 37°C in 24-48 hours incubation. Bioactivity test were replicated three times. Data analysis used SPSS for window 12. One-Way Anova and correlation test use to differ treatment. The research was found number of C. albicans was lower with add of VCO. This result was different at (p<0,05). Correlation test was conducted number of VCO with C. albicans. Then, VCO was effective to defect of growth C. albicans in vitro incubation and there were correlation number of VCO with C. albicans on Sabouraud's medium.Key word: virgin coconut iil, Candida albicans, effectifity, incubation in vitro
