Abstract

This development research aimed to result mathematics lesson plan with PBL base educatinal character valid and practice. This lesson plan develop used 4-D model  which modified beccome 3-D. In this  research data colleting by using validation sheet, observation sheet, interview guidance, practicality questionnaire, and student evaluation sheet. Technic of analysis data of validation result, questionnaire observer of critic  and creative character is statistic descriptive. Mean while result of observation to logic thinking charackter, interview, and self evaluation analized with descriptive. Result of research show that lesson plan are fulfill valid and practice criterion also can develop student logic thinking, critic, and creative character.Key words: lesson plan development, Problem Based Learning (PBL),Character education

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian mendeskripsikan tahapan kognitif siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan dalam pembelajaran geometri di kelas VIIIC MTsN Batu Tebal. Jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Prosedur penelitian ada tiga tahap, persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan penyelesaian. Instrumen penelitian tes tahapan kognitif dan wawancara. Instrumen tes dikembangkan dengan cara menyusun tes, uji validitas, tes uji coba, dan analisis butir. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verification. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan tahapan kognitif siswa laki-laki berada pada tahap kognitif 1 (visualisasi) sampai 2 (deduksi informal) dan siswa perempuan berada pada tahap kognitif 1 (visualisasi) sampai 2 (deduksi informal). Secara umum siswa laki-laki memperoleh rata-rata 13.17 dan siswa perempuan 12.44, berarti kemampuan siswa laki-laki lebih tinggi dari siswa perempuan. Kata kunci: Tahapan Kognitif Van Hiele, Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know mathematics communication ability of students by applaying cooperative learning model type TTW at class XI.IPS SMAN 1 Sungayang. The study was quasi eksperimental research with the draft of research was Randomized Control Group Only Design. The subject of this research obtained from the final test. The hypothesis of this research was tested by MIINITAB program named t-test one way. The results showed a difference in mean value, variance and standard deviation in the second grade sample. From the result of t-test, research obtained that p-value 0.00, so the hypothesis of this research is accepted at significant standard α = 0.05. So, concluded that the mathematics communication ability of students was by applaying of cooperative learning model type TTW higher than students in conventional leraning.Keywords:  Cooperative Learning, Think Talk Write (TTW), Mathematics Communication Ability

Abstract

This study aims to determine the students mathematics learning outcomes with the application of quantum teaching learning model with mind mapping techniques in class IX MTsN Sungayang 2013-2014 school year. This is a quasi-experimental study, the design of randomized controlled group only design. Other research procedures can be divided into three stages: preparation, execution and completion. The research instrument used is the achievement test. The data analysis technique used is the t test. The results show the value of the research hypothesis was accepted with a P-Value of 0.05. The finding is due to the influence of the characteristics of the application of quantum teaching learning model with mind mapping techniques. The application of this model will lead to the learning atmosphere will be more fun and also enhance students understanding of mathematical concepts. Joyful learning will improve students understanding of the material. Research hypotheses that have been proposed in this study received. Therefore concluded, student learning outcomes in the experimental class (quantum teaching learning model with mind mapping technique) is better than the control class (conventional).Key words: quantum model of teaching, mind mapping, learning mathematics

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan sebuah media komik matematika berbasis pendidikan karakter yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model 4-D (pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan dan penyebaran) yang pada penelitian ini dimodifikasi menjadi tiga tahapan (3-D). Tahap pendefinisian dilakukan analisis muka belakang dan analisis tugas. Tahap perancangan merupakan pembuatan prototip dan instrumen penelitian. Pada tahap pengembangan dilakukan uji kualitas hasil pengembangan (uji validitas dan praktikalitas). Uji validitas dilakukan dengan mengisi lembar validasi oleh para pakar. Uji praktikalitas dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket respon kepada siswa. Penelitian ini menghasilkan media komik yang valid dan praktis sehingga layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: media komik matematika, pendidikan karakter

Abstract

This research studied about the the respondents characteristic at the legislative general pre-election in 2009. The researcher used statistic analysis to see the association and structural connection between variables as the characteristic of voters? behavior. The data used in this study is gotten from the result of a survey on voters? behavior in the form of counting and category data, that?s why the statistic methods used was CHAID. Analysis of CHAID showed that the variables having the strongest association with the party choice is age. CHAID method at the analysis of respondent characteristics of voters in the election resulted in five segments of the party choice of respondents. In each segment, the old party is still the party that is trusted by respondents to represent their voice in parliament.Key words: voting behavior, interaction, chi-square, CHAID method

Abstract

Amendment and development of education in Indonesia today requires various elements of education to participate in improving the quality of graduates to be able to compete in the global world. Indonesia was ranked 34th away from Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Korea in the 20th position. This is because the educational institutions in Indonesia have not been able to produce graduates who are capable, superior, competeable with others. The educational tertiary education institution (LPTK) as one of the teacher producing institution has not been able to create prospective teacher who are ready to teach. The characteristic of the lecture process that is stated in Permenristek Dikti no. 44 of 2015 is interactive, holistic, integrative, scientific, contextual, thematic, effective, collaborative and student-centered. One way to realize this is to develop teaching materials that are used in applicable and communicative lectures. Based on the phenomenon, the researchers conducted research and development. In this study,  researchers produce the elementary statistical teaching materials using the Minitab application by following Borg & Gall's research and development steps, namely (1) Carrying out information gathering (2) Designing (3) Develop the initial product form (4) Conduct pilot field trials. If can be concluded that the research on the development of statistical teaching materials that have produced valid products and can be used in lectures to develop student creativity. This development research should be continued in the next stage, namely the product effectiveness stage.

Abstract

This research studies the stuctural interaction between variables that become characteristics or factors affecting durability for students to continue their studies. In this study, the data used are the characteristics of students in the form of data counting and categories so that statistical methods used was CHAID analysis. Dendogram CHAID showed that the variables having strongest association with the durability for students to continue their studies is the mark of Calculus I subject. CHAID method to the analysis of durability for students to continue their studies produced three segments. The first segment is the students who retook the Calculus I subject, the second one is the students who passed or failed in Calculus I subject with semester 1 GPA < 3.00 and the last is the students who passed or failed in Calculus I subject with semester 1 GPA > 3.00. Abstract

This research was focused on studying the factors influencing the students? learning outcome, especially for the students of science Department of STAIN Batusangkar. The dependent variable was GPA that reflects the students? learning outcome. The GPA data were categorized into ?fail? (GPA<2.75), and ?successful? (GPA?2.75) that analyzed by using logistic regression and loglinear model. The respondents of this research were 339 students from Math, Physic and Biology Departmen who registered in 2008 - 2010 academic year. The logistic regression analysis showed that there were 3 factors that influence the students? learning outcome significantly; their village, UN mean score and major in high school. The data analysis indicated that the students graduated from Islamic High School had a bigger chance to succes than students from Vocational School. UN mean score also can reflect the academic ability of the student significantly and the approriate major in high school (Science Studies) gave contribution to the students? comprehension. By using loglinear analysis, it is gotten that association effect/ interaction between dependent variable and other variables as controller. The significant variable interaction was the second interaction between the school and the major chosen, while the third interaction has between UN mean score, major, and the school. Keywords: students learning outcome, logistic regression, probability, loglinear models

Abstract

The results of the preliminary study show that the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables learning process in junior high schools tends to use direct mathematical models and presents material that is not related to daily life experiences, thereby decreasing students' motivation towards mathematics. This is the basis for designing learning trajectory in the form of activities based on students' experiences. This research is design research with the Plomp model. In the first phase, preliminary research was carried out consisting of needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, characteristics analysis and literature review. In the second phase, the prototyping phase was carried out with a series of formative evaluations: self-evaluation, expert validation, one-to-one evaluation and small group. The trial was carried out at Al Islah private junior high school in Bukittinggi city. Based on the results of the implementation of RME-based etnomathematics learning design in class VIII SMP/MTs, it has effectively had an impact on learning outcomes. This result can be seen from the percentage of completeness obtained by students using student books with RME-based ethnomathematics where 86.7% of students were able to complete the post test at the field test stage.
