Abstract

Currently, organizations place more emphasis on efforts that can result in improvements in employee performance. High performance means that employee productivity is also greater and they are able to carry out tasks with better results in the workplace. This study examined the influence of employee abilities, esprit de corps, trust and recognition & reward on employee performance. This study examined data from 285 respondents who were employees of type B hospitals in Batam, namely Awal Bross Hospital, Budi Kemerdekaan Hospital, BP Batam Hospital and Embung Fatimah Hospital. Data obtained by distributing questionnaires containing statements from the variables studied and then tested the data using SPSS. The results showed a significant relationship between the four independent variables tested on employee performance. With this result, it is hoped that it can become an input for hospital management in Batam to become a reference in improving employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of human resource management practices to organization performance and talent management as a mediating factor in the relationship. This research uses methodology with an explanatory study by testing three hypotheses. A hundred managers from several coal companies in East Kalimantan Province are collected as a sample in this research. SEM (Structural Equation Model) is used to analyze the data which is collected by questionnaire. The result of this study found that: (1) Human resource management practices affect talent management positively and significantly; (2) Human resource management practices doesn’t affect organization performance significantly; (3) Talent management affects organization performance positively and significant. This research has a managerial implication to guide the decision maker in the company or manager in the human resource management to implement talent management to improve organization performance.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the factors influencing purchase behavior. The independent variables in this study were environmental concern, personal norm, perceived value, and willingness to pay. The intervening variable was purchase intention and the dependent variable is purchase behaviour. The samples in this study were purchasers repurchasing environmentally friendly Air Conditioners under the Sharp, Daikin, Panasonic, LG and Samsung brands. The data were distributed 310 sets. The data received were 307 sets. In this study, the sampling method used by researchers is purposive sampling. After conducting research, research data indicate that environmental concern does not have significant value in this study therefore this variable must be excluded in this study. Personal norm, perceived value, and willingness to pay have significant positive effect on purchase intention. Purchase intention has significant positive effect on purchase behaviour.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh karakteristik komite audit terhadap pengungkapan sukarela pada semua perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Karateristik komite audit yang diduga mempengaruhi pengungkapan sukarela yakni ukuran, latar belakang akuntansi / keuangan anggota, independensi anggota, jumlah rapat, komitmen, masa jabatan. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah laporan tahunan perusahaan publik yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dari tahun 2014 sampai tahun 2018. Metode pengumpulan sampel yang digunakan yaitu metode purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 1895 data. Hasil penelitian menyatakan latar belakang akuntansi / keuangan anggota komite audit, masa jabatan komite audit memiliki pengaruh signifikan positif terhadap pengungkapan sukarela sedangkan ukuran anggota komite audit, independensi komite audit, jumlah rapat komite audit dan komitmen anggota. komite audit tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap pengungkapan sukarela.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of supplier integration to supply chain performance by moderating effect of supplier performance. The methodology of this research is an explanatory study by testing three hypotheses. The data’s were collected from a convenience samples of 171 manufacturing companies of total 850 companies in Batam being represented by manager in supply chain management divisions. Data’s were collected using questionnaire and technical data analysis using SEM (Structural Equation Model). The result of this study found that: (1) Organization Culture affects Supplier Integration positively and significantly; (1) Supplier Integration affects Suplier Performance positively but not signifivantly; (2) Supplier Performance affects Supply Chain Performance positively but not signifianctly; (3) Supplier Integration affects Supply Chain Performance positively and significantly. The managerial implication of this research is as a guidance for decision maker in the company or manager in the supply chain management to implement Supplier Integration and consider the location of supplier when selected key supplier to improve Supply Chain Performance.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of testing and explaining the effect of liquidity, leverage, profitability and guarantees on bond ratings of non-financial companies rated by PT Pefindo. The type of data used is secondary data from each non-financial sector company obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange through ww.idx.co.id and PT Pefindo's website www.pefindo.com. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. The number of samples used in this study are 10 non-financial companies that issue bonds and their bonds are rated by PT Pefindo for the 2017-2019 period. The data analysis technique used was logistic regression analysis using the IBM SPSS Statistics 22 program. The results showed that liquidity, leverage, profitability, and guarantees had no significant positive effect on bond ratings. The result of the coefficient of determination shows a value of 0.122 which means that the variables of liquidity, leverage, profitability and guarantee are able to explain the bond rating variable of 12.2% while the remaining 87.8% is explained by other factors outside the research model.

Abstract

The aims of this paper is to explore the effect of recruitment and selection, compensation, training and performance appraisal on employee performance for employees in the context of logistics companies in Batam. In this study, at the first phase, a structured questionnaire was developed by using Likert 5 scale and applied on 300 respondents, who are currently working at different positions of logistics companies in Batam. The study revealed that all the factors significantly create impact on the employees’ performance. This study can significantly contribute to the recruiters of human resources of different logistics companies, as it clearly demonstrates how positive contribution can be derived from the employees using appropriate strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze behavioural factors that could affect the investment decision such as overconfidence, disclosure, past performance, advice, and investor’s competence. Whereas the sample in this paper are stock investors in Batam City. The number of questionnaires distributed were 120 sheets and all questionnaires were successfully answered. The collected data will be analyzed with multiple linear regression.The results of this study indicate that overconfidence, disclosure, and investor's competence have a significant positive effect, advice has a significant negative effect, and past performance has no significant effect.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the land use with the highest and best use analysis on a vacant lot owned by Mr. Johan in Tanjungpinang City. Methodology research used by analysis of productivity of land covering aspects of the physical and legal aspects, as well as a location to obtain use of alternative possibilities. Further analysis is the analysis of the appropriateness of the market, namely supply and demand analysis of the market, as well as financial feasibility analysis for each proposed use. In this study, the data to be analyzed is composed of primary data and secondary data. Primary Data include data on income from the sale of property types and alternative expenditure proposed as an alternative to the use of, obtained by interview, while the physical data including size, shape, topography, site utilities and others obtained through direct investigation. The secondary Data were obtained from the Central Agency of statistics and several organizations in the area of Government of the city of Tanjungpinang. Based on the results of the analysis of productivity obtained three proposals for land use and housing development which allows the top, where housing as an alternative here, is the kind of simple housing, medium and luxury residential housing. Based on market analysis and financial feasibility, provided the value of the Net Present Value (NPV), the use of intermediate housing is an alternative use of the most optimal.

Abstract

This study entitled The Effect of Promotion Mix and Service Quality on Principal Decisions Using Surety Bond Products at PT Jamkrida Sumsel. This research instrument uses a questionnaire, and using multiple linear regression to process tabulated data from the results of respondents' answers. The results of the study conclude, First, the Promotion Mix Variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on the Decision of Jamkrida Service Users in South Sumatra (Y;. Second, the Service Quality Variable (X2) has a positive and significant effect on the Decision of South Sumatra Jamkrida Service Users (Y); Third, Promotion Mix Variable (X1) is an independent variable whose influence is more dominant on the Decision of Jamkrida Service Users in South Sumatra compared to the variable of service quality; Fourth, the Promotion Mix variable (X1) and Service Quality (X2) have a positive and significant effect on the Decision of Jamkrida Service Users in South Sumatra (Y). This means that the independent variable (X) is increasing together, so the Decision of the Jamkrida Service User of South Sumatra (Y) will increase.
