Abstract

This Research examines the Naik Dango tradition practiced by the Dayak Kanayatn community in West Kalimantan from the perspective of Maqasid Syariah Abd al-Majid al-Najjar. This tradition is not only a ritual of gratitude for the harvest, but also a social, ecological, and economic system that supports community food security. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with ethnographic techniques through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that Naik Dango contains values of protection for life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), property (ḥifẓ al-māl), society (ḥifẓ al-mujtama‘), and the environment (ḥifẓ al-muḥīṭ al-māddī), as examined within the framework of maqasid syariah. This tradition supports the preservation of local seeds, solidarity-based food distribution, and intergenerational agrarian education. The conclusion of the study confirms that Naik Dango is a local manifestation of universal Islamic values in maintaining welfare and can be used as an alternative model in formulating sustainable food security strategies based on local wisdom

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mediating role of work-life balance in the relationship between motivation, work stress, and employee performance at Bank Muamalat Regional East Java. Optimal employee performance is significantly influenced by psychological factors such as motivation and work stress, as well as the individual's ability to balance work and personal life (work-life balance). The research method used is a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 105 respondents who are employees from several Bank Muamalat branch offices in East Java. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. The results of the study indicate that motivation does not have a positive effect on work-life balance and employee performance, while work stress has a negative effect on both work-life balance and performance. Work stress was found to significantly affect work-life balance, but it does not significantly influence employee performance, either directly or through the mediation of work-life balance. Moreover, work-life balance itself was also found to have no significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

This study examined 70 consumer non-cyclical multinational companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023, yielding a total of 350 observations, to investigate the impact of Inventory Intensity, Institutional Ownership, and Capital Intensity on tax avoidance. Utilizing a quantitative approach and the Random Effect Model (REM), the findings reveal that while Inventory Intensity and Capital Intensity do not have a significant effect on tax avoidance, Institutional Ownership exhibits a significant negative influence. Collectively, these three variables have a statistically significant impact on tax avoidance, accounting for 55.26% of its variation, as indicated by the adjusted R-squared value. These results underscore the critical role of institutional investors in curbing tax avoidance, highlighting the importance of strong corporate governance and transparent ownership structures. Future research is encouraged to incorporate external factors such as economic uncertainty or international tax regulations to provide a more comprehensive analysis.
