Abstract

This study examines group counselling practices at MTs Nurul Iman in Bandung City to understand how guidance and counselling teachers apply the principles of empathy, active listening, and spiritual approaches in building therapeutic relationships with students. Theoretically, this research enriches the scientific treasury of Islamic guidance and counselling by developing a conceptual model of therapeutic communication based on spiritual values. Practically, the research results indicate that therapeutic communication in madrasah group counselling still needs strengthening to be applied more consistently and integrated into the practice of guidance and counselling services. Therefore, this research is expected to enhance the professional awareness of madrasa guidance and counselling teachers regarding the importance of therapeutic communication as the foundation of the counselling relationship, and to encourage the application of more humane, religious, and contextual communication strategies in supporting the psychological and Islamic moral development of students. Data collection was done through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the group counselling process unfolds through three main stages: problem identification, implementation of counselling, and evaluation of service. At each stage, the counselor optimizes therapeutic communication skills as the primary instrument of service, which includes creating a conducive atmosphere to build the client's sense of safety and openness, applying active listening to deepen understanding of the client's experiences, using Islamic communication techniques to strengthen meaning and spiritual motivation, and building a relationship of mutual trust as the foundation for the effectiveness of the group counseling process in Islamic guidance and counselling.

Abstract

Children with cancer face not only physical pain but also psychological distress such as isolation, limited activities, sadness, fear, and hopelessness. Islam-based psychosocial intervention is considered an appropriate approach to reduce negative emotions and foster positive ones. This study aims to describe the impact of Islamic psychosocial intervention on children with cancer at the C-Four Aceh shelter. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, using observation and interviews with 20 participants (children, parents, the foundation's chairperson, and staff). The findings indicate an increase in positive emotions, including cheerfulness, enthusiasm, calmness, and improved social interaction. Parents and staff also reported that the activities were beneficial in reducing boredom during medical waiting times and in nurturing new hope. The integration of Islamic values ??through singing religious songs, drawing Islamic themes, and practising mindfulness with dhikr made the intervention not only psychologically effective but also spiritually meaningful. This study highlights the importance of community-based psychosocial support rooted in Islamic spirituality as a holistic effort to strengthen emotional recovery in children with cancer.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency (juvenile delinquency) is a social problem that concerns the community, encompassing various actions, such as driving without a license, fighting habits, teasing each other (bullying), graffiti at school, blackmail, stealing, arguing with teachers, never doing schoolwork, skipping school, even the worrying ones are drinking alcohol, drug abuse, motorcycle gangs and free sex. Adolescence generally begins around the age of 13 and ends around the age of 21. The method employed is quantitative research with a one-group pretest-posttest design, a form of quasi-experimental design that aims to measure the effectiveness of the intervention by comparing data before and after treatment within the same group. The study's results showed that the majority of data (71.71%) indicated that students had not previously participated in guidance and counselling services. All (87.94%) of the students understood the dangers of juvenile delinquency and how to prevent it after participating in guidance and counselling services with Pancasila values intervention. All (83%) of the students stated that they were satisfied, and a small portion (17%) stated that they were not satisfied with the guidance and counselling services, including the Pancasila values intervention, in preventing juvenile delinquency. Counsellors, in addition to providing Islamic religious treatment on the first principle of Pancasila, also provided narratives regarding criminal law regarding juvenile delinquency in order to increase legal awareness of students by knowing the threat of imprisonment and as a shock therapy to students, so that they can understand the dangers of juvenile delinquency, that they are closer to Allah SWT.
