Abstract

Marriage is the nature of all humans. Wedding preparations need to be understood by individuals and couples because they have an impact, including the desire to live a happy life. Teenagers' inability to control their emotions, make decisions, and understand themselves will make their married life less harmonious. Before marriage occurs, pre-marital information and guidance services are needed to achieve happiness in domestic life. The research aims to determine whether premarital information and guidance services effectively increase self-preparation for marriage. The research uses an experimental research one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 14 people aged 17 to 18 divided into two groups—sampling using purposive sampling. The instrument used in data collection was the marriage preparation scale. Data analysis uses test statistics. The research results show that there is an influence of premarital information and guidance services on increasing self-preparation for marriage. Furthermore, it was found that premarital guidance was more effective than information services in growing self-preparation of marriage.

Abstract

This study aims to detail the implementation of counseling services in Madrasas, examine the obstacles hindering these services, and propose measures to overcome these challenges to prevent child marriages in Central Lombok Regency. Adopting a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach, the research was carried out at MAN 1 Lombok Tengah and MTsN 1 Lombok Tengah. Primary data were obtained through observations and interviews with students, counseling teachers, and Madrasa leaders, while secondary data were sourced from documentation. The data analysis involved reduction, presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal that counseling services in Madrasas, which include essential services, specialized and individual planning services, responsive services, and systemic support, play a significant role in preventing child marriages. Internal barriers to effective counseling include the insufficient competency and experience of counseling teachers, health and age-related issues, lack of motivation and work discipline, and suboptimal planning and execution of counseling services. External barriers include inadequate facilities and infrastructure, poor coordination between Madrasa leadership and local authorities and related institutions, a shortage of counseling teachers, economic instability, and low awareness and participation from students and parents. To address these challenges, counseling teachers and Madrasa leaders have undertaken various initiatives. Successfully preventing and reducing child marriages requires the concerted effort of all school personnel and external stakeholders, including parents and relevant institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of the dhikr method as an intervention to restore mental health among individuals recovering from substance addiction at the Pondok Tetirah Dhikr Rehabilitation Center in Yogyakarta. Employing a qualitative research design, the study engaged four participants, utilizing data collection techniques that included observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework, which comprises data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that addressing mental health challenges in individuals with substance addiction involves the structured application of dhikr practices. Two specific forms of dhikr are implemented: dhikr jahri, which involves vocal recitation of the phrase la ilaha illallah, and dhikr khafi, characterized by silent remembrance of Allah in the heart. Participants reported significant positive changes, including increased emotional tranquility, cessation of drug use, and the absence of self-harming or aggressive behaviors. The transformative effects of these practices highlight the role of spiritual engagement in mitigating mental health disorders. Moreover, the peace experienced by the participants signifies a reduction in the psychological distress they faced upon admission to the rehabilitation center. The study underscores the importance of integrating spiritual practices, such as dhikr, within the broader framework of mental health interventions for individuals recovering from substance addiction.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of Islamic counseling interventions to address LGBT behavior among students in schools, with a focus on mental and spiritual guidance grounded in Indonesian legal provisions, specifically Article 292 of the Criminal Code and Article 414, paragraph (1) of Law No. 1/2023. Employing a qualitative research design, the study engaged 24 participants, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, document analysis, and audio-visual materials. Data analysis was conducted through triangulation, synthesis, interpretation, and the formulation of propositions. The findings reveal that Islamic counseling effectively mitigates LGBT behaviors among students through spiritual practices, including daily prayers, Quran recitation, memorization of short surahs, and transcription of Quranic verses. From a legal perspective, LGBT-related actions are in violation of Article 292 of the Criminal Code and Article 414, paragraph (1) of Law No. 1/2023, which stipulate criminal penalties ranging from 5 to 9 years of imprisonment. The imposition of these legal sanctions serves as a deterrent, encouraging students to critically reflect on the potential consequences of their actions. This research contributes a novel approach by integrating a humanistic and religious framework within counseling interventions, while also emphasizing the role of Indonesian legal regulations in fostering legal awareness and deterring unlawful behavior. This dual approach highlights the potential of combining spiritual guidance with legal education to address behavioral challenges among students.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology, particularly social media, has significantly influenced societal interaction patterns. Among the negative outcomes of social media usage is oversharing behavior, characterized by excessive disclosure of personal information, which threatens privacy, mental health, and social relationships. This study examines the role of Islamic counseling integrated with digital literacy in addressing oversharing on social media. Digital literacy here involves understanding ethical information sharing, digital identity management, and the consequences of online actions. Islamic counseling, emphasizing moral and ethical values from Islamic teachings, aims to provide individuals with insights and practical strategies to regulate oversharing tendencies. A qualitative research approach was adopted, utilizing literature analysis and interviews to explore the perspectives of individuals engaging in such behavior. The findings suggest that Islamic counseling, supported by digital literacy education, is an effective approach to fostering responsible social media use. This integration enhances awareness of privacy, self-respect, and ethical online behavior, mitigating the adverse effects of oversharing and promoting a balanced and conscious engagement with digital platforms.

Abstract

This study concludes that Sufi counseling and mainstream counseling, while distinct in their approaches, can be effectively integrated to address psychological issues such as bullying. Sufi counseling prioritizes the spiritual dimension, fostering inner peace, empathy, and a profound understanding of one’s role within the broader societal context. In contrast, mainstream counseling is grounded in psychological theory and practice, focusing on the behavioral and cognitive aspects of individuals, thereby providing evidence-based interventions and practical strategies for managing bullying behaviors. The findings of this study suggest that a complementary application of both counseling approaches within the school environment is highly beneficial for addressing bullying. Sufi counseling can enhance students’ emotional and spiritual well-being, while mainstream counseling offers a more pragmatic approach to modifying behaviors and implementing concrete solutions.Additionally, it is recommended that schools invest in specialized training for counselors and educators in Sufi counseling techniques. Creating space for approaches rooted in religious and spiritual values as part of character development programs would not only aid in addressing bullying but also reinforce the moral and ethical foundation essential for students’ social interactions. Key Words: Sufistic counseling; mainstream counseling; bullying; difference; equality
