Abstract

Finding identity and life purpose is one of emerging adulthood’s developmental tasks. It can help them be in a committed relationship, which is also their developmental task. However, the Friends With Benefits phenomenon in emerging adulthood in Indonesia indicates a lack of dating commitment, whereas it is important to commit and thus study predictors promoting commitment. Therefore, this research aims to find whether life purpose can be a predictor of dating commitment in emerging adulthood in Indonesia. Participants are 305 Indonesians aged 18-25 years old who are in a dating relationship. They completed online questionnaires consisting of the Indonesian version of the Claremont Purpose Scale and Sternberg Triangular Love Scale’s commitment scale. Based on the simple linear regression test, life purpose positively predicts dating commitment with goal-directedness being the highest predictor. This shows that life purpose has a positive impact on the dating commitment of emerging adulthood in Indonesia.

Abstract

Generation Z, comprising the largest population group in Indonesia, faces significant unemployment challenges. This article explores the factors influencing entrepreneurial intention among Indonesian students to tackle unemployment and enhance the economy. The research aims to examine the roles of entrepreneurial mindset, emotional intelligence, and grit in shaping entrepreneurial intention through entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The study employs a quantitative research method, utilizing non-probability sampling techniques, collecting data from 269 students in semester 5 and above across Indonesia. Research findings indicate that entrepreneurial mindset positively impacts entrepreneurial intention, while emotional intelligence and grit do not significantly affect it. Additionally, entrepreneurial mindset, emotional intelligence, and grit are correlated with entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy serves as a mediating factor between entrepreneurial mindset, emotional intelligence, grit, and entrepreneurial intention. These results contribute significantly to Indonesia's efforts in optimizing Generation Z's entrepreneurial potential to address unemployment challenges and strengthen the economy.

Abstract

Hypersexuality can profoundly affect the subjective well-being of women, causing feelings of worthlessness, shame, disruptions in daily life. Despite this, hypersexuality can also have positive effects, such as relaxation and happiness. This research, employing phenomenological methods and in-depth interviews with two women (aged 25 and 26), explores the subjective well-being of women with hypersexuality. Findings indicate that these women experience various aspects of subjective well-being, though at low levels. Positive affect arises from emotional support from sexual partners and post-sexual activity calmness. However, negative affect includes feelings of worthlessness and shame towards future partners, hindering stable relationships. Compulsive thoughts and conflicts create a cyclical pattern impacting life satisfaction. Inconsistencies between moral beliefs and actions trigger cognitive dissonance, prompting moral disengagement to justify sexual behaviors. Unsupportive family conditions and the aftermath of sexual abuse worsen subjective well-being, while support from sexual partners enhances it.

Abstract

Working mothers of young children face a constant challenge. Their limited time can impact their ability to parent effectively, while young children still require support in managing emotions and behavior. This situation can lead to a decrease in parenting self-efficacy. This study aimed to examine one of the factors that influence parenting self-efficacy, namely social support. Participants were 124 full-time working mothers, aged 20-30 years, with a first child aged 2-6 years, and living in East Java. The mothers completed online parenting self-efficacy and social support questionnaire. A regression analysis revealed a significant influence of social support on parenting-self efficacy with an effective contribution of 26.3%. Support from family, friends, and significant others all play a role in increasing parenting self-efficacy of working mothers with young children.
