Abstract

Recognition of the human activities in videos has gathered numerous demands in various applications of computer vision like Ambient Assisted Living, intelligent surveillance, Human-Computer interaction. One of the most pioneering techniques for Human Detection in Video Surveillance based on deep learning and this project mainly focuses on various approaches based on that. This paper provides an idea of solution to use video surveillance more effectively, by detecting any humans present and notifying the concerned people. The deep learning model, preferred for fast computation, Convolution Neural Network is used by stacking 3 blocks of layers on fully connected layers. This provided an identification of humans and naïve approach to eliminate inanimate humanlike objects such as mannequins.

Abstract

Drinking water is one of the main needs of human life. Water sources do not always have the feasibility to drink. Distillation is one way to obtain potable water. Distillation can influence on drinking water quality. Low performance is a major problem in distillation. One way to improve performance is by increasing the input water temperature. One way to increase the input water temperature by utilizing heat energy on the cover glass. This study aims to improve the performance of solar energy water distillation and input water temperature by a heat exchanger. This research method is experimental. The measured variables are absorber temperature in the distillation model (T1), glass temperature (T2), ambient temperature (Ta), amount of distilled water produced (m) and heat energy coming from solar energy (G). This research uses variations, namely with a white or black heat exchanger and without heat exchanger. Water quality tested using 4 parameters such as microbiology, inorganic chemistry, physical and chemical. Based on this study, the best results produced by a black heat exchanger using a water flow rate of 2 l/h which produce distillation water 422 ml (480 ml/(m2.h)) and efficiency value of 79.74%. While the best results using white heat exchanger is using 0.7 l / hour water flow rate which produces distillation water of 497 ml/(m2.h) and efficiency value of 82.63%, Distilled water has increased in quality even though it has not met the standards No. 492 of 2010Keywords: distillation, solar energy, glass cover, water quality, efficiency

Abstract

Artificial Neural Networks are known to provide a good model forclassification. The goal of this research is to classify books in Bahasa (Bahasa Indonesia) using its cover. The data is in the form of scanned images, each with the size of 300 cm height, 130 cm width, and 96 dpi image resolution the research conducted features extraction using image processing method, MSER (Maximally Stable Externally Regions) to identify the area of book title, and Tesseract Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to detect the title. Next, features extracted from MSER and OCR are converted into a numerical matrix as the input to the Backpropagation Artificial Neural Network. The accuracy obtained using one hidden layer and 15 neurons is 63.31%. Meanwhile, the evaluation using 2 hidden layers with a combination of 15 and 35 neurons resulted in accuracy of 79.89%. The ability of the model to classify the book was affected by the image quality, variation, and number of training data.

Abstract

This paper discusses the search for fin efficiency and effectiveness in unsteady state conditions using numerical computation methods. The straight fin under review has a cross-sectional area that changes with the position x. The cross section of the fin is rectangular. The fins are composed of two different metal materials. The computation method used is the explicit finite difference methods. The properties of the fin material are assumed to be fixed, or do not change with changes in temperature. When the stability requirements are met, the use of the explicit finite difference methods yields satisfactory results. The use of the explicit finite difference methods can be developed for various other fin shapes, which are composed of two or more different materials, time-varying convection heat transfer coefficient, and the properties of the fin material that change with temperature.

Abstract

Storage systems are built of fallible components but have to provide high degrees of reliability. Besides mirroring and triplicating data, redundant storage of information using erasure-correcting codes is the only possibility to have data survive device failure. We provide here exact formula for the data-loss probability of a disk array composed of several RAID Level 6 stripes. This two-failure tolerant is not only used in practice but can also provide a reference point for the assessment of other data organizations.

Abstract

A classroom is a place where there is always room for development; therefore just as the development for a student results in the ease of living, similarly a smart classroom focuses on the structural development leading to effective time and energy utilization. This project offers three major upgradation in classroom; the first being able to book a classroom dynamically using Raspberry Pi and toggling lights and fans using NodeMCU and a mobile application which also helps notify a student about the subject of the lecture, the time and the venue related to the commencement of a period. The second section of this project inputs the attendance of a student check in, using a portable real-time biometric system whose data can further be used to calculate the attendance statistics of each student which can be viewed by the respective student or the teachers can keep a track on their own assigned class using the mobile application. And the last part of the project focuses on keeping track of all the lights and fans, which are on after the lecture. After the lecture is done, it will check the status of the room, whether some other teacher for some other subject is using the lecture hall. Also when the teacher ends the class, the lights and fans will be switched off after 5 minutes buffer provided for the students to checkout. It will wait for 15 minutes and if it still does not receive any request then it will switch off the lights and fans of that particular lecture hall.

Abstract

A design phase commonly initiates either a product invention or development. Before it continues to the fabrication steps, a modern computational, enabling a simulation study during the phase, often gives opportunity to develop its effectiveness and efficiency. Through several boundary conditions, some analytical and/or computational approaches could be determined. This paper aims to elaborate both static simulations and simple experimental tests on an electric automobile chassis prototype. An application based on finite element analysis was assessed to carry out both von Misses stresses and the nodal displacements regarding the construction and/or material strength to a static loads mode. Furthermore, an experimental based examination was also executed as a simple physical validation. The studies emphasize accepted results on von Misses stresses and nodal displacements for both simulation and experimental approaches. Keywords: Chassis Statics, von Misses stresses, nodal displacements, finite element

Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the education sector caused schools and universities are closed. Then, teaching and learning are delivered by an online method through information and communication technology. Some issues have emerged, especially on delivering materials and the minimum requirements of online learning. The study aims to review learning methodologies and the role of information and communication technology for future learning. Heutagogy and Computational Thinking have been selected as the learning methodology for approaching digital native generation. It is no doubt that the significant role in undertaking online education is information and communication technology. Therefore, we suggested some tools to enhance learning systems, such as gamification learning, virtual labs, and social media. We also discussed new learning media using information and communication technology in education. The study's contribution is to describe technology's role in the future learning system to be used by decision-makers in implementing e-learning better.

Abstract

The concept of AI companionship is gaining popularity in recent times. Ourproject is an attempt to create a robotic companion that can act just like apet. We created a Pet Robot that can perform various functions like recognisepeople, recognise objects, recognise emotions, play games, follow a personaround, listen to voice commands, dance and so on. This paper focuses on thehardware aspect of the robot and the working of the Core program (Kernel). Itfurther discusses the algorithm that was implemented in this architecture andcompares the final version with other variations. Our work was able to createa fully functioning AI pet robot by using just cheap commercially availabledevelopment boards, motors and a Desktop PC.
