Abstract

The study “Assessed basic education graduates’ competencies acquired in business studies for self-reliance in Postikum metropolis, Yobe state, Nigeria” Five specific objective, five research questions and five null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted outcome evaluation research design. The study had population of 11,922 basic education graduates and 100 were randomly selected and used for the study. The instrument used for data collection was practical exercise adopted from previous examinations. The instrument was validated by two experts and pilot tested. A reliability coefficient of 0.78 was obtained. Five research assistants helped in the data collection. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistic of mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while Independent-Sample t-test was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The study revealed that among others that the extent to which business studies provide basic education graduates with Keyboarding, Computer, Accounting and Shorthand skill was very low for self- reliance in Potiskum metropolis, Yobe State. It was concluded that the philosophy of introducing business studies at basic education level to reduce the rate of unemployment among the graduates will not be achieved if the students continue to graduate without requisite skills in keyboarding, Shorthand, Computer, Marketing and Accounting skills. Abstract

Women require vocational skills for economic stability and alternative income. Despite attempts to empower women in low and middle-income nations, they still face obstacles, notably with energy supply, a critical component for their productivity and the subject of this study. Five (5) research questions were raised. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The entire population of 309 female artisans in Edo South, Central and North Senatorial Districts was used as sample. The questionnaire was analysed using Mean and Standard Deviation. The decision rule was based on 3.0 such that any calculated mean equal or greater than 3.0 was regarded as agreed while less than 3.0 as disagreed. The study found that women had challenges with the conventional alternative source of power generating set and recommended among others that experts should consider a gender perspective in design and construction in order to alleviate the sufferings of female artisans. Abstract

This research is a research and development (R & D) that aims to analyse and develop Problem-Based Student Activity Sheets/PBSAS using android in the subjects of Creative Products Learning and Entrepreneurship (CPLE) in Vocational Education & Training/VET School that meets the proper and effective requirements. The development of PBSAS using the ADDIE model includes analysing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating. Research location conducted at VET School Negeri 2 Cilacap with sample study participant educate XI level majoring in Mechanical Engineering (27 participants educate), with type study experiment, one group pretest-posttest design. retrieval technique sample that is simple random sampling. Data analysis techniques are carried out qualitative and quantitative. Analysis qualitative conducted to results related to observations and interviews with analysis needs. Whereas analysis quantitative was conducted on data on the feasibility and effectiveness of PBSAS on CPLE lessons in VET School. PBSAS implementation of CPLE lessons at VET School is not yet in accordance with the hope, because students still experience confusion on PBSAS instructions that have not been clear. PBSAS was developed served in google slide form, students could work on the PBSAS to edit it on the slide shared by the teacher and containing material in the form of animated videos. PBSAS on CPLE lessons at VET School has high effectiveness, demonstrated with the value of N Gain score is 0.749 and strong.
