Abstract

Manure derived from cattle, chickens, and goats can be used as compost and has different nutrient content. The application of manure compost can improve soil’s physical, chemical, and biological properties and thus increase plant growth and productivity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various manure compost (cow, chicken, and goat) on the growth of elephant grass cv Pakchong (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Pakchong). The design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment is fertilizing using compost, namely P0= without compost, P1=cow manure compost, P2=chicken manure compost, and P3=goat manure compost. The observed variables were plant height, the number of leaves and tiller, and the dry weight of the leaves stem shoots and roots. The results showed that the use of manure compost had a significant effect (P<0.05) on increasing the growth of elephant grass cv. Pakchong. Chicken manure compost produces the best growth of elephant grass cv. Pakchong which is seen from the plant height, the number of leaves and tiller, and the dry weight of the leaves, stems, and shoots.

Abstract

This study aims to determine technically the implementation in the business of making omega 3 salted eggs, to technically and economically determine the cost, income, and business feasibility of making omega 3 salted eggs in Sungai Pandan Hulu Village. Production process activities are carried out for 6 days starting from cleaning/selection of eggs to steaming and ready to be marketed. So there are 4 (four) production cycles. Using raw materials in the form of fresh duck eggs, while the auxiliary materials are coarse salt, ash/red brick powder, sufficient water, plus materials for steaming and packaging. The production capacity is 2,600 grains with a selling price of Rp. 3,200 / item. The total cost of production (TC) spent during the research period was Rp. 7,282,203.34. Total Revenue (TR) obtained during the research period is Rp. 8,320,000. The value of RCR (revenue cost ratio) is 1.1425. This means that RCR > 1, then the manufacture of omega 3 salted eggs in Sungai Pandan Hulu Village can be said to be profitable and feasible to cultivate

Abstract

The research objective is to identify policies related to the development of cocoa farming by PT. Mars and examine the implementation of cocoa farming development policies at PT. Mars. The technique of determining informants by purposive sampling. There were 10 informants, including the Head of the Agriculture Service, 1 person from the Baebunta District BPP, 1 person from the Field Coordinator of PT Mars, 6 cocoa farmers, and 1 member of the DPRD of North Luwu Regency. Technical analysis of data using qualitative analysis. The research results show that the policies made by the government and implemented by PT. Mars is, (1) conducting certification assistance, cocoa field schools, providing seeds to cocoa farmers, demonstration gardens, wet seed premiums, fertilizer assistance to farmers, (2) Implementation of policies made by the Government and implemented by PT. Mars, (3), The policies implemented by PT. Mars has had a significant impact on the growth of cocoa production and the income of cocoa farmers.

Abstract

Soil nutrient deficiency is a problem aftermath of reduction caused by metals and leaching due to low soil organic matter and high input of synthetic chemical fertilizers. The decline in the corn harvest index is a decrease in soil fertility. Hence, local organic materials have urgently needed as a Ultisol ameliorant. This study aims to determine the right combination of chicken manure and cow manure to produce the best increase in plant height and increase the plant dry weight, soil pH, and CEC. The research has conducted at the Hasnur Polytechnic, South Kalimantan, from April 2022 to August 2022 and used a completely randomized design with 200 g of manure divided into three combinations of P0 (control), P1 (30% chicken manure versus 70% cow manure), P2 (50% chicken manure versus 50% cow manure), P3 (70% chicken manure versus 30% cow manure). The results showed that the P2 treatment increased plant height, dry weight, and optimal soil pH, while P3 showed significant soil CEC because chicken manure had varied and balanced nutrient content compared to cow manure.

Abstract

Analysis of economic potential and business feasibility is intended so that the actors can avoid the risk of loss, one of which is in the milkfish cultivation business. Generally, milkfish cultivation in Indonesia is carried out in brackish or greedy water. One area that also does this cultivation is Tambuha Village. The purpose of this research is to see the economic potential and future of milkfish cultivation business in Tambuha Village. The research method is descriptive. The research variables are economic potential and business behavior. Data was collected randomly through observation and interviews with informants. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively to see the description of the cultivation business in the research location, and quantitatively to determine the economic potential and business feasibility. Economic potential analysis is carried out through revenue and income analysis, while business feasibility is analyzed using the operating profit (OP) formula, benefit cost ratio (BCR), payback period (PP), profitability, break-even point (BEP), return of investment (ROI). The results showed that the milkfish cultivation business in Tambuha Village has economic potential because it can be profitable. In addition, this business is also very feasible because it is based on the value of OP, BRC, PP, BEP and ROI.

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the quality of compost (Ca, Mg, and CEC content) from various C/N ratios of dairy goat feces, forage waste, and straw. Experimental research methods, the design used a completely randomized design (CRD), using treatment C/N ratio 25 (T1), C/N ratio 30 (T2), and C/N ratio 35 (T3), done six times. The analysis results were tested with variance and Duncan’s test. The research results on the C/N ratio of dairy goat feces, rice straw, and forage waste affect the content of Ca, Mg, and CEC value of compost. For example, the highest content of Ca (19744.04 ± 1570.0 ppm) and Mg (8914.63 ± 670.18 ppm) was obtained in the treatment of C/N ratio 25 (T1), and the highest CEC value (133.61 ± 5.69 cmol/kg) was obtained in the treatment of the C/N ratio 35 (T3).
