Abstract

Climate change is a vital topic in elementary science education, yet it remains challenging for students to grasp due to its abstract nature. At the same time, many teachers face limitations in developing digital-based instructional media. This study aimed to create interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline for fourth-grade students and to empower teachers by involving them in both the development and implementation processes. The research employed the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Field testing with 21 students showed a notable improvement in learning outcomes, with average pre-test and post-test scores of 51.66 and 86.38, respectively. The N-Gain score of 0.70 indicates that the media was effective in enhancing student understanding. Moreover, teacher participation in the development process contributed to improved digital literacy and pedagogical skills, especially in integrating technology into classroom instruction. The Articulate Storyline-based media proved to be both practical and effective for elementary science learning, supporting the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated instruction and the integration of educational technology.

Abstract

Abstract: Background: Chronic kidney disease is becoming a health problem worldwide. The fact that chronic kidney disease patients cannot be separated from hemodialysis throughout their lives causes a significant decrease in physical and cognitive abilities in kidney failure patients, so that assessment of regular hemodialysis patients is very important because it can affect optimal quality of life. Objective: To determine the comparison of quality of life of regular hemodialysis patients based on the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF score with the Missoula VITAS Quality of Life Index-15 score. Methods: This study uses an observational analytical method, with a cross sectional study to be conducted on regular hemodialysis patients caused by chronic kidney disease at Dr. Soegiri Lamongan Hospital. The instruments used are the WHOQOL-BREF quality of life scale and the Missoula score. Discussion: The results of this study showed that there were significant differences in several quality of life domains between WHOQOL-BREF and Missoula score. WHOQOL-BREF tends to score higher in the physical and environmental health domains. In contrast, MVQOLI provides a more in-depth assessment of aspects of symptoms and physical function as well as psychological well-being. Conclusions: There was a difference in quality of life in patients on regular hemodialysis therapy with World Health Organization-BREF and Missoula scores.

Abstract

The problem we face is the accumulation of waste when tourist visits increase. Until now, there has been no effective way to address this issue, so we took the initiative to manage waste using the 5R concept: reduce, repair, reuse, recover, and recycle. We utilise a plastic waste recycling method to create useful items. The process is carried out in three stages: 1) Conducting a workshop, 2) Producing recycled waste, and 3) Distributing the useful items created during the workshop. Following these activities, the community has gained a better understanding of the importance of utilising waste to create useful items, thereby helping to reduce plastic waste around tourist destinations. We recommend organising a waste festival to enhance the popularity of tourist attractions and raise awareness about waste management.
