Abstract

The dimension of Responsible Consumption and Production encompasses the conscientious manufacturing process of a product, with a focus on minimizing waste and residues that may pose environmental risks. Strategically situated within an industrial region, Gresik plays a pivotal role in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. This research endeavors to achieve a dual objective. Firstly, it aims to raise awareness about the significance of responsible production in Yosowilangun, Gresik, one of the busiest villages in the area. Additionally, the research seeks to economically empower women residing in this village. The Eco-Print fabrication employed in this study goes beyond utilizing random waste materials; instead, it leverages the recycling of dried leaves waste, a readily available resource in Gresik. Acknowledging certain limitations, such as the scale of prototype production and the ongoing nature of the study due to the gradual nature of awareness-raising efforts, this research introduces a novel aspect by uniquely applying recycled leaf waste in textile production. This approach, not extensively explored in the industry, opens a new avenue for sustainable manufacturing and women's empowerment in developing regions. The product resulting from this research is not only environmentally friendly but also holds the potential to improve the socio-economic well-being of women in Yosowilangun Village.

Abstract

The benefits of mindfulness in adults have been widely researched, and its positive impact on psychology and teacher performance has become a major focus in the field of education. These benefits include stress regulation and reduction, increased compassion, and improved teaching effectiveness. Many studies have highlighted the positive relationship between mindfulness traits and teaching readiness. This study specifically examines the role of prospective teachers' mindfulness traits in their readiness to teach. The theoretical model proposed by Manasia et al. (2019), which includes four key dimensions of teaching, was used to measure the teaching readiness of prospective teachers in three academic programs at the Department of Language Education at a leading state university in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) was employed to measure the mindfulness traits of students as future teachers. The study found that mindfulness traits were able to predict higher teaching readiness in participants. These findings also form the basis for a community service activity, which involves providing mindfulness psychology training during teaching preparation orientation for students as prospective teachers.

Abstract

Sidomulyo Village in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, holds untapped potential in its rich biodiversity, particularly for economic empowerment among women, who comprise 53% of the population. The Women Skills Academy (WSA) were established with the aim of facilitating women's empowerment in Sidomulyo Village. In a previous program, training on ecoprint creation was conducted but several challenges were identified. These included limited diversity in ecoprint materials and designs, which restricted the ability to highlight the unique local identity of Sidomulyo Village. Furthermore, participation was predominantly limited to members of the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT), emphasizing the need to engage a wider spectrum of Women Skills Academy (WSA) members. To address these issues, the current program focuses on enhancing ecoprint techniques while incorporating e-commerce training. This integrated approach aims to empower participants with the skills needed to achieve economic independence and better represent the cultural richness of the village. The program included socialization, preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The participants, guided by the community service team, significantly improved their knowledge and skills in both ecoprint production and online marketing, as shown by pre- and post-training evaluations. Participants successfully created ecoprint products using natural resources and learned to market these products via e-commerce platforms. Despite these achievements, challenges remain in diversifying materials, enhancing design uniqueness, and fully utilizing digital marketing. This program underscores the importance of leveraging local resources and providing continuous support to develop innovative, eco-friendly products that contribute to sustainable economic growth in rural communities.

Abstract

Radiology is a vital component of healthcare services in hospitals, aimed at assisting diagnoses through radiographic imaging using X-rays. To ensure optimal image quality, a quality assurance program is implemented. One of the objectives of this program is to minimize the repetition of radiological examinations. Therefore, a reject analysis of radiographic images is conducted to identify the causes and reasons for repeated imaging. This research aims to analyze the factors contributing to repeated computed radiography (CR) images to improve the quality of radiology health services. It is a quantitative descriptive study conducted through observation to determine the percentage of image repetitions and identify the causes. The data was analyzed using the repeat rate formula to calculate the repetition percentage systematically. The study took place from February to April 2024, with a total of 8,197 CR images, of which 410 were repeated. Results: The quality of radiology services is categorized as good, based on a monthly image repetition rate of 1.75%, which is within the acceptable limit of ≤2% as per the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 129/Menkes/SK/II/2008 on minimum hospital service standards.

Abstract

In this PKM program, our partner is residents in Sedayulawas, Lamongan, East Java, Province. This community has generated the production mouthwash derived from salt. Salt is a mineral composed primarily of sodium chloride (NaCl). Diversification of salt products with various derivative products is very possible for salt farmers to do as an effort to empower the economy of the Lamongan community as well as increase food security through the provision of quality salt and downstream technology to produce salt derivatives that have more value for example mouthwash. Mouthwash containing saltwater rinses work by increasing the pH- balance inside the mouth, creating a much more alkaline oral environment in which the bacteria are no longer able to thrive. Based on interviews and observations in the field, there are 3 main focuses of the problems currently faced by partners, namely: 1) lack of knowledge about downstreaming of salt products and their derivatives and 2) the packaging of product. Efforts to increase salt production and salt purification technology as well as alternative diversification of salt derivative products can be a model that can drive the economic sector of the community of salt farmers and women who boil salt so as to initiate the opening of new job opportunities and create superior salt products and derivative products, namely mouthwash in Lamongan Regency. This activity was realized with an approach in the form of making a sustainable cooperation program until the end of PKM, creating a family atmosphere between the two and understanding that the problems experienced were a shared problem so that they could be solved together according to the level of responsibility to achieve the expected benefits, namely increased yields, production and productivity and competitiveness, independence and welfare of the community.

Abstract

Yosowilangun Village, located in Gresik Regency, is currently classified as an independent village, indicating the prosperity of its residents. However, there are still challenges in identifying and optimizing the village’s potential, particularly in recognizing its strengths and addressing weaknesses. Without a systematic approach to these issues, there is a risk of a decline in the village development index, potentially resulting in a downgrade of its status. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework offers a strategic pathway for achieving balanced and sustainable growth, with its core pillars emphasizing humanity, the environment, prosperity, peace, and partnerships. In collaboration with the officials of Yosowilangun Village, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya implemented a pilot project aimed at mapping and analyzing the village's potential. This project identified underutilized land, which has typically been used for cultural and artistic activities, as a valuable resource for local economic empowerment. By transforming this land into a venue for Small, and Medium Enterprise (SME) events, such as craft and culinary exhibitions, the village can create sustainable economic opportunities. The project also revealed that village officials allocate a significant portion of their financial resources to community empowerment programs. Their openness and willingness to collaborate facilitated constructive discussions, although their understanding of the SDGs framework remains limited. To bridge this gap, further data collection and analysis are required, focusing on key factors affecting land utilization based on SDGs principles. Moving forward, mentoring sessions aimed at formulating relevant policy recommendations and fostering stronger collaboration between the project team and village officials will be prioritized. These steps are essential to ensuring the success of the initiative and maintaining Yosowilangun's alignment with SDGs, while enhancing its development index.
