Abstract

Textbooks are prepared to help teachers convey material to students in class easily. The textbook must meet the needs of students in its presentation by considering the suitability of the content of the material with the basic competencies to be achieved. This study aims to determine the level of conformity between the cell topics in the biology textbook for class XI and the basic competencies of the curriculum 2013 in terms of the breadth and depth of the material. This research is a quantitative descriptive study by analyzing the biology textbook for class XI from Erlangga and Yudhistira. The data collection technique used is observation using the observation sheet. The data analysis used descriptive quantitative. At the data analysis stage, it was carried out by several reviewers consisting of researchers, colleagues, and high school teachers in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results showed that the suitability of the topic of cell in terms of the breadth of the material in textbooks A and B obtained a percentage of 75%. While the suitability of the content in terms of the depth of the material, the results obtained are 95.83% in textbook A and 83.33% in textbook B. It is because textbook A only fulfills 23 of the total 24 scores. Meanwhile, textbook B only fulfills 20 of the total 24 scores. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that the level of material breadth in textbooks A and B have an appropriate category. On the other hand, the level of material depth in textbook A and textbook B has a very appropriate category.

Abstract

Technological developments have affected all aspects of life, including education. Advances in technology require people to be technologically literate. In addition, the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic also requires learning to be carried out online. This requires teachers to be able to develop teaching materials that can be accessed easily by students during the learning process. The learning process must also support the achievement of 21st-century skills, one of which is critical thinking. SSI-based learning can train critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Electronic Student Worksheet based on socio-scientific issues (SSI) on environmental pollution materials to train the critical thinking skills of class VII students. The implementation was carried out on three class VII study groups using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Effectiveness in terms of increasing critical thinking skills during the learning. The improvement in critical thinking skills of students in grades VII-1, VII-3, and VII-4 is significant in the moderate category, with an N-Gain score of 0.48, 0.52, and 0.51. The student's response is positive, with a mode value of 4.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) know how to develop modules, 2) know the feasibility of the module, and 3) know the effectiveness of the IPA module with an approach of Inquiry Science Issues on Climate Change Materials to improve the critical thinking skills of students in grade VII junior high school. The development model used in this study is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection techniques using observation methods, interviews, as well as documentation. Quantitative analysis techniques for analyzing data have been validated by experts and module assessments by practitioners and students. In contrast, the analysis of qualitative descriptive data to analyze the resulting module data. The results of the study concluded that 1) Modules developed based on the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) with inquiry science issues that use critical thinking indicators. 2) Module eligibility in terms of validation results Material Expert Module got the same result of 90.27% with categories Excellent, media expert validation of 89.06% and 88.43% respectively with excellent category, practitioner ratings of 88.33% and 87.91% respectively with excellent categories, student ratings of 81.05% with very categories good. 3) The effectiveness of the module analyzed using the N-gain test obtained a result of 0.5014; 0.3 g ≤ ≤ 0.7, so the module is said to be effective with a moderate category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the validity and students' responses to android-based educational games with Light and Optical Instruments for class VIII SMP/MTs. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) method with an analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE) model. The trial subjects in this study consisted of 2 assessors of media experts, 2 assessors of material experts, 2 science teachers and class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 3 Bondowoso totaling 32 students. The instruments used are instruments or assessment sheets for media, material, science teachers and student response sheets. The results obtained that the validity of the game based on the assessment of media experts got a feasibility percentage of 86.67% (very valid), the material expert assessment got a feasibility percentage of 91.29%, (very valid) and user assessments (science teachers) got a feasibility percentage of 91, 79% (very valid). Judging from the students' responses with a small scale (6 students) that is getting a feasibility percentage of 82.13% (very valid) and students' responses with a small scale (32 students) getting a feasibility percentage of 81.1% (very valid). Therefore, it can be concluded that the development of android-based educational games for the material of Light and Optical Instruments for class VIII SMP/MTs is very valid for use in learning.

Abstract

The development of the physics E-Module at this time really needs to be done because of the very rapid development of information technology and coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic situation which requires the availability of the physics E-Module so that it can assist students in learning physics both face-to-face and virtual learning. Based on preliminary observations made in public high schools and private high schools, it was found that the physics module used was a conventional module, namely the printed version of the physics module and the printed year of the module was out of date, so the module is less relevant when used today. The aim of this research is to develop a high school Physics e-module in Manokwari Regency so that it becomes a valid, effective and practical e-module. The method used is the four-D (4D) method. The population of this study were students of class XI IPA 4 at SMA Negeri 1 Manokwari and class XI IPA at SMA YAPIS Manokwari. This research produces an E-Module of Rotational Dynamics and Rigid Body Equilibrium using Augmented Reality (AR) which can be used interactively by students via mobile devices or computers, where in this E-Module there are simple experiments presented in the form of videos, animations using AR, virtual reality that can be accessed anywhere and anytime so that it can improve the physics learning outcomes of class XI IPA students. The purpose of this research is to produce E-Modules using AR in physics lessons that are practical and effective and can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning creative media can expedite and increase the efficiency of learning to lead to goals of learning that can be achieved owing to delivering easy message technology for learning purposes. This study aims to find out the effective development of learning media using electrocardiograms (ECG) in electricity and magnetic lectures. The population of this study was used students in electricity and magnetic lectures with a total of students 20 and samples were by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires with pre-test and post-test and conducted by statistical analysis Paired t-test. The average score of students before being taught using learning media using ECG is 6.65 and significantly increases to 8.40 after being given a learning media using ECG. The effectiveness analysis of learning media using ECG by Paired t-test showed there is a significant difference between before and after being taught using learning media compared to before learning creative lectures with results α=0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the development of learning creative media using ECG in electricity and magnetic lectures increasing of student knowledge which is fundamental considering utilize of ECG for possibly early detection of heart problems
