Abstract

Interfaith marriages in a pluralistic society often occur due to the diversity of religious adherents in Indonesia. The problem is that when the commitment does not go well, then the relationship will become complicated. The result is the disruption of the harmony of married life because there is no role of religion in the purpose of the marriage bond. The purpose of writing this article is to look at the biblical perspective on interfaith marriage in a pluralistic society. The true foundation of marriage in Christianity or in other religions. The method used for this research is a qualitative method of library studies. The causes of interfaith marriages are social life, minimal religious education, parental background, and the current of globalization also encourage new social constructions. Interfaith marriages in the Old and New Testaments are not permitted by God, because marriage is God's initiative and must be centered on Jesus Christ. Marriage must Return to carry out God's eternal plan so that marriage can achieve its original purpose, namely humans must Return to God and His Word to understand it. This is the reason God wants marriage to be a marriage of faith. Marriage is the foundation because it is on this relationship that God begins to build society. Healthy marriages must be built and run according to Christ and these relationships are based on Christ as the head of the family and church.

Abstract

The Third Pentecostal Movement, as a development of Pentecostal theology, has influenced the worship life of Pentecostals. This paper aims to explain how the worship life in the Third Pentecost era and its relation to the completion of the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus. Qualitative methods are used to achieve this goal, using a systematic and phenomenological literature study approach toward 4 interviewees. The results of the observations show that the worship life in the Third Pentecost era is characterized by a special spirituality, namely emphasizing the practice of speaking in tongues and providing space for other manifestations of the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the practice of spirituality that attracts people and ultimately provides momentum for the preaching of the gospel. In addition, the spirituality of the Third Pentecost is also marked by a life of prayer and intense meditation on God's Word as well as the fellowship of believers in cell groups. This spirituality encourages God's people to carry out evangelism and discipleship so that more people experience God. Spirituality in the Third Pentecostal era is not only self-empowerment, but also missionary. Thus, it can be concluded that the worship life in the Third Pentecost era is characterized by an emphasis on the use of tongues (glossolalia), a life of prayer and meditation on the Word, and the practice of discipleship through cell groups as bridges and media for the completion of the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus.

Abstract

Pentecostal praise and worship always develop time by time. The pattern changes can be understood as a continuous process of church restoration from time to time towards the apostolic church. The restoration of Tabernacle of David (RTOD) is proposed to be a reference for Pentecostals to formulate the theological foundation in renewing the pattern of praise and worship in the present era. This paper aims to (i) explain the theological basis of the Pentecostal pattern of praise and worship in today's era, (ii) explain the theological meaning of RTOD prophecy and its relationship to praise and worship, and (iii) explain the application of RTOD in renewal of the Pentecostal praise and worship in the present era. This paper uses a qualitative method by applying a systematic literature study and phenomenological approaches to understand the theological basis of praise and worship pattern, the meaning of RTOD in general and related to praise and worship, components in RTOD, and its application in praise worship. The results of the study show that the RTOD can be used as a theological foundation and renewal of Pentecostal praise and worship in the present era.So, it can be concluded that the theological basis and definition RTOD can be used as a reference for applying it in the praise and worship of today's Pentecostals.

Abstract

The writing of the current article provides an understanding of the concept of sin in the Old and New Testaments by discussing the relationship between sin and the attachment to the occurrence of covenants. Descriptive methods and content analysis explain the description of human sinfulness contained in the Old and New Testaments for the binding of God's promises in their present-day implications to obtain an analysis of library research. Research conducted at this time provides the results of sinfulness recorded in the Old Testament with a clear description of God's attributes which are considered as God's justice. Next is the description of the covenant (covenant) on God's attributes which represents God's love. Man's sin with all its consequences in the Old Testament does not show God's wrath which is principled in a loving God, but is a picture of God's justice and sovereignty over His laws. Likewise, the attachment to God's promise of the greatness of God's love so that the first initiative comes from God as a reminder of Himself to all His human creations that the covenant will be bound. Finally, this research article concludes that there is a very strong and close relationship with human sinfulness in the Old and New Testaments with respect to God's covenant attachment to all of His human creations so that all humans know how great God's love is and how dangerous the impact of sin on human life was even today.

Abstract

The existence of Generation Z (Gen-Z) is significant for the future of Indonesia. Gen-Z is characterized by being open-minded towards different views, technologically savvy, and having an informal communication style. These characteristics shape Gen-Z into a generation that is fluid in terms of sexuality. They are not hesitant to support and even embrace issues related to LGBT, i.e., that a person determines his own sexuality without anyone being able to set criteria for that determination. This study aims to propose a strategy for cultivating the principles of biblical sexuality in Gen-Z. A qualitative method with a systematic literature study approach and in-depth interviews (to 4 informants) was chosen to answer these objectives. The review of the literature and in-depth interviews indicate that a friendly approach is required, in accordance with Gen-Z's way of digesting information, to instill a principle of truth. Through these facts, this study proposes a strategy to cultivate the principle of biblical sexuality which is characterized by dependence on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, disciple Gen-Z’s parents first, build sincere relationships with Gen-Z, and build a two-way bridge between clergy and the LGBT community. The stages are continued with the process of cultivating the biblical principle of sexuality to Gen-Z which must be carried out with friendly and authoritative characteristics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is that the concept of the remnant for the Adventist Church plays a very important role. Not only in the message of spreading the gospel message to the whole world, but also in understanding who the Adventist Church is. Any religious community that claims to have a special identity and mission can become an arrogant and exclusive community. But that doesn't mean that the claim then automatically makes them like that. The Adventist Church must do what they can to dispel the negative impression of arrogance and exclusivity. Therefore, proper expression is needed to explain the interpretation of the remnant at the end of time to other Christians. Furthermore the Adventist Church can be viewed as a Church relevant to contemporary society. So that the mission of the Adventist Church may be carried out according to divine wisdom. This study uses a qualitative method, by analyzing various sources such as the Bible, library books and several online media and journals. This research is hoped that every Christian understands the meaning of the remnant and knows more about the existence of the Adventist Church. As for the conclusions that can be drawn so that the church becomes exclusive and understands its vocation.

Abstract

The third Pentecost emphasizes the revival of young people in the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission. Unfortunately, today's young generation has lost their passion for the church because the church is no longer relevant. For this reason, we try to propose a liquid discipleship method for the younger generation based on the Liquid Ecclesiology theory by Pete Ward. This research use literature study and constructive theological approach. This article concludes that the characteristics of liquid discipleship on the basis of Liquid Ecclesiology have answers to the characteristics and spirituality of today's young generation that are different from previous generations. Liquid discipleship can be a bridge between the church and the younger generation. In the end, the younger generation can be discipled and sent to make disciples again in order to fulfill the Great Commission as the purpose of the third Pentecost.
