Abstract

Various surveys show that many Generation Z (Gen Z) admit to no longer attending church and are no longer affiliated with any church. One reason is that church services are no longer engaging. Church services are monotonous due to the lack of digital technology. Another obstacle is the use of slang in worship and the use of biblical slang. This study aims to describe the need for the use of biblical slang and its potential use in church services. This qualitative research uses library research and sociolinguistic methods. The results show the importance of using biblical slang in services attended by Gen Z. Churches also have the potential to provide space for services that use biblical slang.

Abstract

The advancements in technology and education have significantly influenced the learning patterns of Generation Alpha, In the learning process, students tend to use technology for things outside of learning activities. This study aims to analyze the application of educational technology based on the ARCS model (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction) in enhancing the learning motivation of this generation. Employing a descriptive qualitative method through interviews with five students from Rumah Belajar Sola Fidei in North Jakarta aged 12 to 14, along with literature studies supported by NVivo software, the research reveals that technology integrating ARCS elements can boost engagement and learning motivation among Generation Alpha. Tools that capture attention, are relevant, build self-confidence, and provide satisfaction have proven effective in creating enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences. Consequently, this study seeks to examine how technology can strengthen each element of ARCS to create a more engaging, relevant, and motivating learning environment within the context of digital education. In conclusion, the ARCS model can serve as an effective strategy for enhancing learning motivation among Generation Alpha in the digital age.

Abstract

SETARA Institute regularly releases data on various cases of violations of religious freedom that have occurred in Indonesia. Data shows that rejection of the construction and closure of houses of worship occurred in several regions, such as East Java, West Java, Central Java, Aceh and several other regions. These cases show that intolerance is still high in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the role of Christian Religious Education (PAK) in developing critical, tolerant, and just attitudes by referring to the results of theological interpretations of Romans 13:1–2. This descriptive qualitative research uses a literature study approach, complemented by a theological approach to explore contextual meaning. Findings based on analysis of the text Romans 13:1-2 show that obedience to the government is a form of obedience to God, without ignoring the principles of justice, love and religious freedom. The research findings illustrate that PAK has a strategic role in equipping Christians peoples to become agents of peace, capable of responding wisely to socio-political conflicts, and balancing obedience to authority with efforts to fight for religious rights. PAK also contributes to the formation of tolerant Christian communities, a harmonious pluralistic society, and improved interfaith relations. Thus, PAK not only shapes individual character but also supports the peaceful creation of social justice and religious freedom

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has brought significant transformation to society, including in the realm of religious practice and church ministry. Churches are required to adapt wisely to remain relevant and actively engage within the dynamic digital society. This study aims to analyze the church’s role and strategies in interacting with the social community in the digital era, focusing on the digital ministry implementation at GBI Tabgha Batam. The research employed a qualitative approach through literature study and interviews to understand firsthand experiences of church ministers involved in digital transformation. The findings reveal that GBI Tabgha Batam successfully utilized digital technology to expand its spiritual and social outreach through enhanced digital literacy, development of interactive platforms, hybrid worship services, and creative dissemination of spiritual materials. The church also maintains ethical and digital security standards in managing congregation data and reporting social programs such as Cahaya Obor Berkat (COB) and Start2B. These findings affirm that digitalization is not merely a technical adaptation but an integral part of the church’s theological calling to embody Christ’s love and transformation in the modern world. By implementing ethical and well-structured digital strategies, the church can strengthen its relevance, expand social impact, and build an inclusive faith community in the digital era.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges faced by ministers of God who are increasingly vulnerable to multidimensional pressures in line with the advancement of digital technology, including constant public exposure, instant criticism, and the massive flow of information. These developments have the potential to trigger mental health disturbances among ministers. The research employs a literature review method. The objective of this study is to explore the role of transformational leadership in mitigating the mental health challenges of ministers in the digital era. The findings reveal that transformational leadership in mental health mitigation involves the integration of various approaches, including the reorientation of leadership paradigms, the strengthening of positive interpersonal relationships, the catalysis of motivation and problem-solving, the empowerment of digital literacy and ethics, and the integration of spirituality as essential steps toward fostering mental health within a healthy ministry ecosystem.

Abstract

This article examines the persistent reality that churches and individual Christians have not yet positioned discipleship as the primary orientation in fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Instead, many churches and believers remain preoccupied with physical buildings and service-oriented activities in their stewardship, thereby neglecting the central mandate of disciple-making. Employing a library research method and thematic analysis, this study explores the relationship between disciple formation and evangelism within the framework of transformative discipleship as a catalyst for Gospel proclamation. The findings demonstrate that when churches and individual believers simultaneously are encouraged to become catalysts for evangelism in cyberspace in a rapid and sustainable manner, thereby fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Abstract

The relationship between God and humanity is a central theme in Christian theology, often discussed through various theological approaches. In this regard, the factor of redemption often receives greater attention than human freedom, even though both are closely related in understanding God's love as a whole. This article aims to examine freedom and redemption as a theological unity that expresses the perfection of God's love from a Pentecostal theological perspective. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to biblical texts and relevant Pentecostal theological literature. The results of the study indicate that freedom is given by God as a relational space so that humans can respond to His love consciously and responsibly. However, this freedom also opens up the possibility of sin and relational separation. In this context, redemption is understood as an initiative of God's love that does not eliminate human freedom, but rather restores broken relationships through the work of Christ. This restoration of relationships opens up space for the presence and work of the Holy Spirit for every believer, which is especially the basis of the faith and spirituality of Pentecostals. Therefore, freedom and redemption together reveal the perfection of God's love, as a love that creates living relationships, restores failures, and remains actively present in His relationship with humanity.
