Abstract

This paper dissects the connection between universal exchange and conversion scale levels with regards to the worldwide money related emergency (GFC) and the ascent of worldwide and provincial esteem chains (GVCs). Utilizing two-sided information for 72 economies over the 2001– 2015 period, we locate a positive connection between the genuine conversion standard and fare volume pre-GFC; however this relationship for the most part vanishes post-GFC. We additionally analyze the effect of extending GVCs on exchange and on the conversion scale exchange connect channel. The examination affirms that expanded investment in GVCs brings down the effect of the conversion standard on fares, and could be a contributing element to debilitating connections between trade rates and exchange. Ultimately, other auxiliary variables, for example, import organization and load of transient outside obligation of exporters and merchants, appear to significantly affect exchange execution yet less effect on the conversion scale exchange connect channel post-GFC.

Abstract

COVID-19 has affected 213 countries around the world, killing 711,313 and infecting around 19 million by August 06, 2020 (worldometer.info). Bangladesh, a South Asian low-middle-income economy, has experienced a demographic and epidemiological transition with rapid urbanization and a gradual increase in life expectancy. It is the seventh most populous country in the world and population of the country is expected to be nearly double by 2050. The increasing burden of communicable diseases in Bangladesh can be attributable to rapid urbanization and nearly 50% of all slum dwellers of the country live in Dhaka division. In 2017, National Rapid Response Team of IEDCR investigated 26 incidents of disease outbreak. Until August 6th, death reported 3,267 and 246,674 got infected in this country. The joint survey of the Power and Participation Research Centre and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development reveals that per capita daily income of urban slum and rural poor drops by 80% due to present countrywide shutdown enforced by the government to halt the spread of Covid-19. 40%-50% of these population took loans to meet the daily expenses. However, the country has just 127,000 hospital beds, 91,000 of them in government-run hospitals. Researchers say, the country’s economy is losing BDT 33 billion every day from its service and agriculture sectors during the nationwide shutdown.

Taxes fully create discouraging effects on economic growth, especially those that reduce the incentive to invest in physical and human capital and innovation. The purpose of this research is to see the connection between public revenues and economic growth in the Republic of Macedonia and to determine the impact of tax and non-tax revenues on the growth of the country. With the help of econometric modeling, it was found that the observed public revenues as a whole affected the economic growth with 90, 2%, which is a high percentage. Individually, customs duties, VAT and direct taxes have a positive impact, and non-tax revenues and contributions negatively affect the economic growth of the republic.

Abstract

Dictation is an ancient technique in teaching language becoming one of interesting ways to improve the students’ listening comprehension proposed by Davis and Involucres (1988). This study was aimed to solve the students’ listening comprehension achievement by using dictation techniques as a technique in teaching listening at SMP Al-falah Surabaya in the academic year 2019/2020. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was applied in this study in two cycles. In this classroom action research, the technique was divided into note taking and partial dictation/cloze dictation. The primary data about students listening achievement were gained from the listening test. Meanwhile, the supporting data were gathered from observation and documentation. The results on students’ activity showed the use of text dictation techniques could improve the eighth-grade students’ activity in listening. Furthermore, In the first cycle of the test’ result, the teaching listening activity was not so good as what was expected. On the average, the percentage of the students’ involvement in the process of teaching listening was only 45% in the first meeting and 50% in the second meeting. But, in the second cycle the percentage of students’ involvement in the process of teaching listening increased from 77% in the first meeting to 80% in the second meeting. This improvement happened because of some revision, they were; choosing the text with familiar story for the students, reading the text more clearly, turning up the volume, and using more gestures in teaching listening technique.

Abstract

As the center of government and economy in the East Sumatra region during the Dutch colonial era, the city of Medan continued to develop and grow in line with the success of the surrounding plantation businesses. This situation resulted in many people coming to Medan to stay and settle down. The large number of people who came to Medan resulted in an increase in population in Medan which resulted in an increase in the number of housing needs at that time, especially houses that met health and safety standards. Since there were many houses that did not meet the standards at that time, the Medan City Government considered that this housing problem had to be taken seriously so they made a policy to establish public housing that met the standards set, which was called “Volkshuisvesting” or people's houses. This housing development policy was also widely carried out in several Gemeente in the Dutch East Indies at that time. Volkshuisvesting itself is public housing aimed at middle and low income people with the aim of helping them to have a decent place to live in. Many things have been prepared by the Medan City government to realize this public housing policy for the people or Volkshuisvesting, starting from planning, provision of funds, housing areas etc. Using historical methods and using sources such as the Dutch colonial archives, newspapers and books that discuss housing published during the Dutch colonial period, this article explains how the Medan City Government plans to build public housing in Medan.

Abstract

This scientific article is devoted to some theoretical problems of the theory of the political system of society. The purpose of the article is to show the true, objective position in relation to the subjects of the political system. To solve this goal, the following tasks were set: a critical analysis of the opinions of those authors who consider as such: 1) criminal communities; 2) public organizations with an insignificant political aspect. Moreover, both in the first and in the second case, it has been proven that scientists are engaged in the substitution of concepts, that is, they commit a logical error. Result: 1) criminal associations are not subjects of the political system of society; 2) according to the political criterion, it is necessary to distinguish only proper political and not proper political organizations; 3) general theoretical provisions, opposite to those stated, differing in illogicality, do not contribute to improving the quality of educational literature on the theory of state and law.
