Abstract

This research presents a single-image dehazing method that integrates a Lightweight Vision Transformer (LVT) and U-Net to capture both local and global features. LVT enhances resolution, U-Net extracts local features, and LVT refines global dependencies before fusion. Evaluations on O-Haze and HSTS datasets show PSNR scores of 27.88 (O-Haze, ResNet-50) and 28.22 (HSTS, no backbone), outperforming existing methods while maintaining competitive SSIM. The results demonstrate effectiveness in real-world haze scenarios, such as wildfire-induced haze in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of technology in the increasingly advanced construction sector cannot be separated from welding, because it has an important role in metal engineering and repair.. There are several factors that affect the quality of welding results, including welding procedures, materials, electrodes, and types of welds used. Inspection of welding results can be done in several ways, one of which is by visual inspection. The TWI Acceptance Criteria standard is used as a reference in determining the quality of welding results in this study. The results of the study showed that four out of five welding defects did not pass the test. This indicates the importance of mastering welding techniques and quality control in the production process. A welder must have competencies that are in accordance with the specifications of his work. Routine inspections and the use of reference standards such as the TWI Acceptance Criteria should be applied to ensure the quality of welding results, both on an educational, training, and industrial scale.

Abstract

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is the most popular maintenance method in manufacturing industry. There are 8 TPM pillars, two of them are performing autonomous maintenance (AM) and preventive maintenance (PM) with specific guidance, which is called TPM Checklists. For well-established technology, the checklists are provided by machine vendor, and the users only need to follow them. However, for customized technology, users need to create the checklists by themselves. This situation requires specific guidance how to develop it. This research studies how to develop TPM checklist using functional based approach. Research was conducted by making TPM checklists for disc milling machine, then the developed checklists were validated to the existing TPM checklist built by the previous researchers. Results showed that the accuracy level reached 91.67%. It means that functional based approach can be an alternative solution to create and develop TPM checklists

Abstract

Student internship assessment is an important aspect of higher education, requiring objective and accurate standards. This research examines implementing a hybrid recommendation system to improve the internship assessment process at ITPLN. The hybrid recommendation method combines content-based and collaborative approaches so that it can provide more relevant and personalized recommendations. Through analysis of previous assessment data and feedback from students and supervisors, this system is designed to assess student performance more comprehensively. The research results show that the use of a hybrid recommendation system can increase accuracy and fairness in assessments, as well as provide additional insight for supervisors in providing evaluations. Thus, this research contributes to the development of better assessment systems in the context of professional education, especially in the fields of engineering and technology. It is hoped that the implementation of this system can become a model for other institutions in optimizing the student internship assessment process.

Abstract

Finding the optimal route for several vehicles in determining destinations according to their travel needs, such as serving customers, finding places for tourism, finding destinations for personal, family, or community touring, or logistical distribution, has become an essential need today. Route selection with considerations of fuel cost savings, tolls, regional levies, dining or rest stops, and fuel refilling stations (gas stations) is also a critical basis for achieving travel objectives. This research was conducted through surveys of alternative routes from Jakarta to Dieng in Central Java, and interviews with motorcycle users for this journey (Motor Touring) conducted by a motorcycle community. The application of the TOPSIS method, which is then compared with the results of the Dijkstra Algorithm in determining a route, can be a solution in route selection, in this case, the route from Jakarta to Dieng (Central Java). Alternative routes with attributes such as route, travel time, road conditions, fuel refilling locations, and rest stops for meals or just drinks become significant factors considered by motorcycle enthusiasts for touring to a region. The selection of the right route recommendation makes this route the primary choice for motor vehicle users, with the busy traffic on this route positively impacting the local residents, who were previously vegetable or fruit farmers, by providing additional income through selling snacks, ready-to-eat meals, coffee, parking, rest areas, toilets, and necessities for the stay in Dieng, such as gloves, hats, and jackets.

Abstract

Weather element data is very useful for knowing the climatology of an area, so that humans can take advantage of these weather conditions according to the needs of each party. The most influential weather phenomena are rain and wind. To see how much rain intensity and wind direction a place is, a rainfall and wind direction monitoring system is made in the weather station system. The purpose of designing this monitoring system is to monitor and get information data easily about rain and wind conditions in a place. For the measurement of the rainfall parameters, a tipping bucket type rain gauge is used and for wind direction indicators use the Wind Direction sensor as a wind direction indicator sensor. This system is made using other devices between the hall effect sensor, microcontroller, and NodeMCU Wifi ESP32 and uses blynk to display information from the monitoring tool. This system is expected to help users to find out information about the intensity of rainfall and wind direction indicators in an area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of depth of cut and feed rate variations on machining time in the C-Axis collet process. The research method employed was an experimental approach using Mastercam software. This study's independent variables were variations in cut depth (0.5 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm) and feed rate (110 ft/min, 125 ft/min, 140 ft/min), while the controlled variable was a spindle speed of 1036 rpm. The tools used were 8 mm and 4 mm diameter flat endmills. The results showed that the shortest machining time was achieved in Toolpath 2 with a depth of cut of 1.0 mm and a feed rate of 140 ft/min, resulting in a time of 12.47 s. In contrast, the longest machining time occurred in Contour Toolpath 1 with a depth of cut of 0.5 mm and a feed rate of 110 ft/min, taking 141.15 s. This research can be further developed to establish standards for optimizing machining time efficiency in C-Axis processes.

Abstract

Electricity is a basic necessity required in daily life, supporting various activities, including economic development. The growing demand for electricity requires reliable and efficient planning and management of the power system. Electricity demand forecasting is essential due to its fluctuating nature and seasonal patterns. This study aims to forecast electricity demand using the Triple Exponential Smoothing method with data from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for the New South Wales region, Australia, covering the period from January 2015 to February 2025. This method is chosen because it effectively handles time series data patterns consisting of level, trend, and seasonal components. The forecasting results show that this method is capable of closely following the actual data patterns and produces a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 2.89%, indicating a very good performance. This model is expected to serve as a basis for decision-making in anticipating future fluctuations in electricity demand.

Abstract

The growth of maggot cultivation as an alternative feed source is increasing in response to the demand for sustainable organic waste management solutions. However, the drying process remains a major challenge, especially for small and medium-scale operations. This study aims to design and develop a 20-kg capacity rotary maggot dryer that is efficient, energy-saving, and suitable for community-scale production. The design method includes user needs analysis, material selection, CAD-based design simulation, and testing tool performance. The results indicated that the dryer can reduce maggot moisture content within an average drying time of 3 hours at 60–70°C with relatively low energy consumption. This innovation is expected to improve maggot production efficiency and promote appropriate technology for sustainable alternative feed development at the community level.
