Abstract

This paper presents the comparative study between PSCAD and DIgSILENT in order to detect fault location on underground distribution network. If a fault occurs in the distribution network, it will generate the voltage dips and over current. It is possible to record the signal output in the primary substation. However, for the research purpose, some of the researcher may use different simulation program. The simulation program may have different performance to generate voltage and current signal when fault simulated. So, it is important to observe the performance of each simulation software. Due to every simulation software may have different advantages, this paper will observe the accuracy of fault distance calculation based on simulation data on the distribution model and when all types of fault are applied to the different simulation program, namely PSCAD and DIgSilent. The matching approach was adopted to calculate the fault distance. To observe the performance of the simulation program, the distance error calculation for every type of fault are compared. By using a matching approach, the PSCAD simulation program produces more accurate fault distance compare with DIgSILENT. However, it may contribute different result if different method and tested network applied.

Abstract

This paper presents the classification of EMG signal for multiple hand gestures based on neural network. In this study, the Electromyography is used to measure the muscle cell’s electrical activities which is commonly represented in a function time. Every muscle has their own signals, which was produced in every movement. Surface electromyography (sEMG) is used as a non-invasive technique for acquiring the EMG signal. The development of sensors’ detection and measuring the EMG have been improved and have become more precise while maintaining a small size. In this paper, the main objective is to identify the hand gestures based on: (1) Cylindrical Grasp, (2) Supination (Twist Left), (3) Pronation (Twist Right), (4) Resting Hand and (5) Open Hand that are predefined by using Arduino IDE, CoolTerm software and Microsoft Excel before using artificial neural network for classifying purposes in MATLAB. Finally, the extraction of the EMG patterns for each movement went through features extraction of the signals which is used to train the classifier in MATLAB to classify signals in the neural network. The features extracted are using mean absolute value (MAV), median, waveform length (WL) and root mean square (RMS). The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) produced accuracy of 80% for training and testing for 10 hidden neurons layer.

Abstract

Understanding user requirement for a technology design is central to user experience. A user-centered technology design should consider user needs and constraints as well as abide to the principles of HCI design heuristics. This paper describes the requirements gathering for Kantin Online System, a school food ordering system where we considered the needs and constraints of different stakeholders involved and elicit a compromise where the needs of all parties can be met. We then applied usability heuristics into the system design to facilitate perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. We conclude this paper with experts’ evaluations towards the heuristic elements of the system design concept and possible future work.

Abstract

This paper represents a review of the dynamic voltage restorer for power quality improvement in the electrical distribution system. Over the past 50 years, issues concerning power quality have steadily increased, to prevent the effect of the voltage disturbances, some of the devices are put as a solution to these problems such as distribution static compensator (D- STATCOM), solid-state transformer (SST), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). The DVR is one of the economic solutions to overcome the voltage disturbances like voltage sag/swell and harmonics. It is widely used to mitigate the voltage disturbances in the power distribution system, especially in the medium and low distribution networks. This paper aims to review the implementation of the DVR in the system integrated with renewable energy resources. This is important because the future of electricity business is moving towards renewable energy and also provides a thorough discussion of the typical components, controllers, compensation methods, and the application of DVR. The extensive review of the technology aims to ease and speed up the development and the advancement of the DVR in the near future.

Abstract

This paper presents the ontology model for Malay Confinement Dietary (MCD) recipes which include the intake suggestion and its preparation. MCD plays a big role to ensure that mothers in confinement get the right nutrient in order to restore back their health. In the current research on MCD, the covered part is only on what are the foods allowed to be taken by mothers during confinement and the nutrients that it can boost in mothers’ body. However, it does not include what are the preparation methods of the food and what is the suggested intake time for that dish. These two aspects could give the certainty factor for mothers to get the sufficient nutrient during confinement. But those knowledges are known by the traditional Malay midwives. Hence, this tacit knowledge should be modeled into an ontology model as one of the knowledge preservation methods. Three new classes together with four new object properties were added to the current model and based on testing that has been done, the extended new model of ontology could retrieve the correct information as needed.

Abstract

Due to its large peak to average power ratio (PAPR) and high out of band emission (OOBE), OFDM doesn't meet the requirements of 5G services. Additionally, it supports only one type of waveform parameters in entire bandwidth. In contrast, f-OFDM is dividing the system's bandwidth into a number of subbands to support several waveform parameters based on various service scenarios. So, Filtered-OFDM (f-OFDM) is considered as a modern enabler of the flexible waveform to overcome the OFDM drawbacks while remaining its advantages as well as, to encounter the new challenges that faced 5G. Nonetheless, there is a trade-off among OOBE, PAPR and SNR performance. Meanwhile, channel coding technology is one of the most important issue in physical layer which is playing an essential role in order to achieve the reliability and latency. So, BCH code has been suggested in this paper for f-OFDM system to achieve the reliability of transmission information and thus improving BER performance over multipath fading channel. Whilst, BCH-LTE system is introduced as a baseline in this paper that using for comparison purpose with proposed system. Simulation results showed that the proposed BCH-f-OFDM system was significantly better than BCH-LTE system in terms of decreasing OOBE and achieving improving in BER performance. Although, PAPR levels was stilling high in proposed system due to the trade-off among OOBE, PAPR and SNR performance. However, the proposed system is considered a promising candidate to meet the requirements of 5G services because of its ability to solve two important issues in between three trade-offs'.

Abstract

The consideration that the Iraqi community has concentrated on the training area has delivered another college responsibility routed to superiority viewpoints for all training connected facilities. In truth, a superiority arranged facility necessitates perfection in the structure and arranging of facility exercises, in addition to amid its conveying for the received facility execution assessment strategy. In any case, considering that facility execution assessments are profoundly founded on partners’ decisions, they can be described by conceivable vulnerabilities identified with deficiency for incomplete obliviousness, imprecision for subjectivity and even dubiousness. In this way, underneath these circumstances, temperamental outcomes can be acquired by broadly measured facility investigation strategies. This paper is a strategy dependent an ongoing augmentation of ServQual display and it utilizes a consolidated way of Fuzzy Set Theory of command process technique that is proposed to adequately deal with vulnerability in facility execution examinations. Specifically, Fuzzy Set Theory is measured to manage vulnerability, while AHP strategy is embraced as device to appraise the significance loads of key facility characteristics. In this way, the key investigation of the facility esteem tree identified with the program in University of Kufa is made by using the planned strategy. The completed facility examination permits the most impacting facility execution components to be caught and remarked. At last, acquired outcomes demonstrate that the teachers' view of facility quality definitively impacts by large facility execution level.
