Abstract

Network coding based applications are notoriously susceptible to malicious pollution attacks. Packets authentication schemes have been well-recognized as the most effective approach to address this security threat. However, existing packets authentication schemes for network coding either incur high computation overhead, or are vulnerable to arbitrary collusion among attackers. In this paper, we proposed a novel dynamic authentication scheme for secure network coding by dynamically using the linear vector subspaces of network coding. The scheme can efficiently detect packets generated by pollution attackers, and effectively resist arbitrary collusion among attackers. Our work is an innovative dynamic solution to frustrate pollution attacks with arbitrary collusion among attackers, and authentication cost can be further reduced by employing batch authentication in participating nodes. In addition, our scheme provides an efficient packet authentication without requiring the existence of any extra secure channel. Security analysis and simulations results demonstrate the practicality and efficiency of our scheme. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2470

Abstract

This paper proposes a compact bandpass filter using a loaded open-ended T-shaped stub. The open-ended T-shaped stub is loaded with vertical resonators placed across. The key advantage of using vertical resonators in the design is the simplicity and low insertion loss it provides. The structure used is an open-ended stub attached on one end to the transmission line (λ/2) to form a T-shaped resonator (λ/4) having vertical resonators placed across. The vertical resonator position alters the position at which the transmission zero occurs. A pair of the T-shaped resonator is placed on parallel sides of the feed line. The proposed filter is designed with the aid of Computer Simulation Technology Microwave Studio Software. The proposed concept is verified by designing filters with four different vertical resonator positions. The filter possesses a good rejection and low insertion loss of < 2dB with Chebyshev response. This filter is suited for modern-day communication applications since it shows good rejection of out of band signals.

Abstract

In this paper, an innovative algorithm of identification of control system, described by irrational transfer function with distributed parameter characteristics - with irrational components, is proposed. Algorithm is based on real interpolation method (RIM). Parameters of irrational transfer function can be identified by its experimental transient responses. Each of them can be represented by an analytic expression, table or graph. The proposed method is computationally efficient, simple and practical, as is illustrated by numerical examples. In the furure, the method can be used for tuning the controller and for direct application construction of adaptive controllers, working on the identification principle.

Abstract

The paper presents the computation and measurement of electric field, in both electrostatic as well as ionized case, for dual electrode system intended for electrostatic applications. The dual electrode system consists of an ionizing and non-ionizing electrode have the same voltage and facing a grounded collecting plate. The charge simulation method (CSM) coupled with genetic algorithms (GAs) and method of characteristic (MOC) is applied to compute the electrostatic field and the ionized field respectively. The influence of dual system parameters such as ionized wire diameter and inter electrode distances on the profile of the electrostatic field on the collecting plate and on the surface of the ionizing wire has been studied. The measurements of the ionized electric field, current-voltage characteristics and ion current density profiles are implemented using the technique of the linear biased probe. An experimental setup is constructed to model the present electrode arrangement. The measurements are carried out for ionized wire of diameter 0.25 and 0.5mm. The computed results are found to be in good agreement with experiments.

Abstract

Micro Grid is a contracted distributed AC or DC network. Micro Grid resources are connected to the distributed linear as well as nonlinear loads through power electronics converter to provide an efficient, more reliable and quality power to the distributed loads with reduced co2 emission. Consequently makes full use of low cost generation resources and reduce waste. Interconnected Mode in the MG is connected to main grid either being absorbed by it or injecting some amount of power into the main system. Islanding Mode in the MG operates separately when upstream volt occurs in main grid network. Usage of power electronic interface converters, Integration of the renewable-resources based MG system to the main power system and nonlinear loads results in harmonics generation clutter the system reliability and other associated quality issues. Most of demanding users of electricity are suffering to a certain poor quality of electrical power. The excellent time-scaling resolution characteristic of WT used for detection of various power quality disturbances of integrating and islanding Micro Grid connected Distributed Generation systems. The WT plays important role in analysis, design and classification of discrete signal processing. The accuracy and reliability of classification techniques have assessed on signals contaminated with noise. DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v14i1.7232

Abstract

Sampling rate of current signal acquisition systems are singular. Aiming at this shortcoming, a method of multi-channel data acquisition(DAQ) with adjustable sampling rate is presented. The method realizes the cut-off frequency of anti-aliasing filter controlled by program with the help of switched-capacitor; by independently pulsing sampling signal of different ADCs, 16-channel sampling rate are adjustable within the range 50ksps, 25ksps, 10ksps, 5ksps, 1ksps. Theoretical analysis and experimental verification pointing at the proposed method are implemented: theoretical analysis shows that parameters of the filter meet the design requirements; experimental results show that cut-off frequency of the anti-aliasing filter matches variable sampling rate very well; choosing appropriate sampling rate according to the characteristics of the measured signal not only can well restore the measured signal, but also prevents system resources from waste. This method can meet needs of testing various signals with different frequency at the same time. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3283

Abstract

The colorization aim to transform a black and white image to a color image. This is a very hard  issue and usually requiring manual intervention by the user to produce high-quality images free of artifact. The public problem of inserting gradients color to a gray image has no accurate method. The proposed method is fully automatic method. We suggested to use reference color image to help transfer colors from reference image to gray image.  The reference image converted to  Lab color space, while the gray scale image normalized according to the lightness channel L. the gray image concatenate with both a, and b channels before converting to RGB image. The results were promised compared with other methods.

Abstract

In VLR (verifier-local revocation) group signature, only verifiers are involved in the revocation of a member, while signers are not. Thus the VLR group signature schemes are suitable for mobile environments. To meet the requirement of speediness, reducing computation costs and shortening signature length are two requirements at the current research of VLR group signatures. A new VLR group signature is proposed based on q-SDH assumption and DTDH assumption. Compared with the existing VLR group signatures based on DTDH assumption, the  proposed scheme not only has the shortest signature size, but also has the lowest computation costs , and can be applicable to mobile environments such as IEEE 802.1x. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i6.1428

Abstract

Considering the importance of perturbations during short circuit (SC) in power conversion devices, this study designed to find out the efficacy of symmetrical short circuit (SSC) of the synchronous generator (SG) and doubly fed induction generators (DFIG). Both wind power systems were separately built (Park’s model) and simulated. Simulation results showed that the DFIG is more efficient, fault tolerant, and proficient systems as compared to the SG based on the transient time, steady state, maximum current, and voltage dip values. This study can extend to design protection schemes, more accurate, stable and optimal proficient wind power conversion devices.
