Due to limitations of 0.618 pole method, the triangle method and the champ ground resistance tester method on grounding resistance measurement of transmission lines and towers under conditions of complex landscape in a mountainous area, it adopts a generalized three-electrode grounding resistance measurement method which arranges electrode flexibly in the grounding resistance measurement of transmission lines and towers under conditions of complex landscape in a mountainous area, and the measurement results of the generalized three-electrode grounding resistance measurement method compares with the measurement results of the 0.618 pole method and the triangle method. Research results show that the tower grounding resistance measurement method based on the generalized three-electrode method is correct and feasible in engineering and it supplies a new method for the overhead transmission line and tower grounding resistance measurement under conditions of complex landscape in a mountainous area. This paper implement the antonym procedure in substitution-based approach for linguistic steganography that is expected to be an alternative to the existing substitution approach that using synonym. This method is hidden the message as existing approach, however that is changing the semantic of the stego text from cover text as the medium. This paper proposed the development method is named Antonym Substitution-based that applied based on implementation linguistic steganography in covering the secret message. This approach refines the word choices makes antonym substitution-based approach linguistically is comparable with the previous effort of synonym substitution. Furthermore, this paper also used the verification and validation approaches as the procedure to evaluate performance of this method. The evaluation through verification approach used in order to determine the effectiveness and quality performance. This proposed method is expected has become the new technique implementation of linguistic steganography in process securing secret message that hide in the text medium.

In this paper, modeling and simulation of the solar photo-voltaic (PV) power generator is observed using Matlab-Simulink environment. The study the fore-mentioned photovoltaic systems in an efficient manner the knowledge of I-V and P-V characteristics is a prerequisite. Effect of environmental parameters of temperature and irradiance variations could also be observed from simulated characteristics.

Patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) required mechanical ventilation (MV) for breathing support. However, some MV patients encountered spontaneous breathing (SB) efforts while fully sedated which can obscure the true underlying respiratory mechanics of these patients. Thus, a model-based method is required to reconstruct the missing pressure and calculate the breathing effort that produced by the patients without additional clinical protocols or invasive procedure. In this paper, results of spontaneous breathing effort in Malaysian critically-ill patients adopting the developed pressure reconstruction model are presented. By using the pressure reconstruction model, the SB affected pressure waveform is reconstructed to approximate true respiratory mechanics and quantifies the SB effort. The SB breathing efforts were computed and compared with the results from Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand. The substitute measure of SB effort can be indicated from the difference between the reconstructed and unreconstructed pressure. Results shows that all patients from both cohorts exhibited SB effort with the highest SB effort at 11.48% for Malaysian patient and 21.07% for Christchurch patient. Overall, the well-developed non-invasive pressure reconstruction method is able to measure the SB effort produced by Malaysian MV patients that help the clinicians in selecting the optimal MV setting. This first non-invasive guidance in selecting the optimal setting of MV in Malaysia is potentially reduced the ICU cost and improve the MV management in Malaysian hospital.

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells have been receiving more and more attention these recent years. Maintaining a fuel cell system in correct operating conditions requires good control. Based on the mathematical model of proton exchange membrane fuel cells described in this paper, the fuzzy logic controllers was designed for the proton exchange membrane fuel cell to make it possible to output constant voltage. Simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy controllers can give good control effects. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i4.847

The gas-solid-liquid three-phase flow is a very complicated flow pattern in pipeline transportation. By using electrical capacitance tomography (ETC) it can acquire the permittivity distribution of the multi-phase. The sensitivity distribution in ETC may affect the analysis of the permittivity distribution of the multi-phase. However, very limited work has been done in this issue. In order to investigate the sensitivity distribution in ETC, this paper employs the finite element method (FEM) to establish the principle and components of ECT. The FEM model of the sensitivity distribution as a function of the inter-electrode capacitance was discussed. Simulation tests were carried out to calculate the charge on the electrode pairs to access the potential distribution of the ETC. The analysis results show that the dielectric have great influence on the capacitance value and small distance between the electrode pair and the sensitivity field will produce high sensitivity value. Hence, the findings of this work can provide reference for the design of ECT in practice. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3611

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems suffer from large peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper we study the discrete wavelet transform (DWT)-based OFDM systems. In particular, we discuss the effect of the decomposition level of each wavelet family in the DWT-based OFDM regarding the PAPR. The simulation results show that, in general, there is a decomposition level that minimize the PAPR in every wavelet family. In addition, we also analyze the effect of clipping nonlinearities, i.e. conventional clipping and deep clipping, as PAPR reduction method in DWT-OFDM systems. The results show that the clipping nonlinearities give a noticeable PAPR reduction. However, as DWT-OFDM itself has lower PAPR compared to the conventional discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-based OFDM, the clipping nonlinearity subsystem may not be essential as it degrades the system performance. The paper proposes a self-learning evolutionary multi-agent system for distribution network reconfiguration. The network reconfiguration is modeled as a multi-objective combinational optimization. An autonomous agent-entity cognizes the physical aspects as operational states of the local substation, the agent-entities establish relationship network based on the interactions to provide service. Multiple objectives are considered for load balancing among the feeders, minimum deviation of the nodes voltage, minimize the power loss and branch current constraint violation. These objectives are modeled with fuzzy sets to evaluate their imprecise nature and one can provide the anticipated value of each objective. The method completes the network reconfiguration based on the negotiation of autonomous agent-entities. Simulation results demonstrated that the proposed method is effective in improving performance. The route of self-governing ground vehicles through general conditions has gotten generous research consideration. Be that as it may, the writing contains not very many correlations of the course ideal models for AGVs, particularly for calculations utilising range discoverers. The fluffy behavioural approach and vector field histogram (VFH) approach are outstanding strategies that can be actualised using range discoverers. This paper will concentrate on looking at their structure, simplicity of programming and calculation tuning, and execution. Both methodologies actualised on a Pioneer 2 robot, outfitted with a SICK laser run discoverer.

This paper presents an analysis in Matlab/Simulink of a three-phase photovoltaic system under balance and unbalance faults in Matlab/Simulink. The aim of this paper is to investigate the performance of the system under various types of fault. The simulation involved various types of faults occurring at different distances from the point of common coupling of the PV system. This paper also aimed to identify what type of fault that may severely damage the system. The simulation results presented in this paper show that the three-phase fault in the microgrid was severely affecting the system since it involved all the three phases of the system while the distance of the fault occurrence is less influenced in the system. The purpose of this research is to observe the effect on the system based on the types of faults occur and the distance faults occur.
