The use of network simulator as a modern tool in analyzing and predicting the behaviour of computer networks has grown to reduce the complexity of its accuracy measurement. This growth of network simulator implementation have attracted the researchers and practitioners to share problems and discuss to improve the features. To communicate the issues relates to network simulators, users move to an online discussion platform, such as Stack Overflow. Although recent studies have shown the popularity and benefits of adopting network simulation tools, however, the challenges of using network simulator that users face remain mostly unknown. Therefore, in this paper, we examine 2,322 network-simulator-related Stack Overflow posts to provide insights on the topics that users are interested and the challenges they face. We apply the Latent Dirichlet Allocation topic modeling to understand the topics that are being discussed in Stack Overflow. Then, we investigate the popularity and difficulty of each topic. The results of this study show that users use Stack Overflow as an implementation guideline for network simulation model. We determine 8 discussion topics that are merged into 5 major categories. Most of the posts discuss simulation model configuration. We also observe that target network protocol modification and network simulator installation are the most popular topics among the users compared to other topics. Users are specially facing challenges on network simulator installation and target network protocol modification issues.

The Power quality of the electrical system is an important issue for industrial, commercial, and housing uses. An increasing request for high quality electrical power and an increasing number of distorting loads had led to increase the consideration of power quality by customers and utilities. The development and use of flexible alternating current transmission system (FACTs) controllers in power transmission systems had led to many applications of these controllers. A unified power flow controller (UPFC) is one of the FACTs elements which is used to control both active and reactive power flow of the transmission line. This paper tried to improve power quality using a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based UPFC, where it used to control both active and reactive power flow, decreas the total harmonic distortion (THD), correct power factor, regulate line voltage and enhance transient stability. A comparison study of the performance between the system with a conventional PID controller and FLC has been done. The theoretical analysis has been proved by implementing the system using MATLAB/SIMULINK package. The Power quality of the electrical system is an important issue for industrial, commercial, and housing uses. The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

The World Wide Web has become a large pool of information. Extracting structured data from a published web pages has drawn attention in the last decade. The process of web data extraction (WDE) has many challenges, dueto variety of web data and the unstructured data from hypertext mark up language (HTML) files. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of current web data extraction techniques, in termsof extracted quality data. This paper focuses on study for data extraction using wrapper approaches and compares each other to identify the best approach to extract data from online sites. To observe the efficiency of the proposed model, we compare the performance of data extraction by single web page extraction with different models such as document object model (DOM), wrapper using hybrid dom and json (WHDJ), wrapper extraction of image using DOM and JSON (WEIDJ) and WEIDJ (no-rules). Finally, the experimentations proved that WEIDJ can extract data fastest and low time consuming compared to other proposed method.

The primary aim of this work is to feature the advantages of integrating natural source of energy from the solar and wind to the prevailing electric power systems. Two types of analysis are carried out in two test systems (standard and modified test systems) and the outcome of the test systems are compared. The two analyses are technical analysis and economic analysis. The stability of the voltage is analyzed under technical analysis and the price of energy consumed from the electric grid is calculated and analyzed under the economic analysis. Dynamic hourly load data, hourly solar radiation, hourly wind velocity, and dynamic electricity prices are considered for the standard IEEE system and modified test system (with the integration of RES). Voltage stability index (L-Index) and price of the electricity consumed from electric grid are found for standard test system and the outcome is compared with the outcome of modified test systems. MATLAB coding is done for techno-economic analysis for both test systems. It is inferred from the outcome that the integration of renewable energy sources fairly contributes to the economic benefit of the system by lowering the power purchased from the grid and enhance the stability of the system.

A transmission line allows different frequencies to conduct alternating current (AC). They are a peculiar type of wire that allows signal transmission while making it resistant to external noises. A parallel-plate transmission line is a type of transmission line designed with two parallel plates with a dielectric sheet material in the center, as the name implies. The parallel-plate transmission lines are usually used for a miniature setup in which the line prevents the signal from losing power. However, the line's frequency response is a varying setup in which a change in a parameter can fully change the frequency response of the line, and in turn trigger inefficiency. With this, different factors such as the conductor, the size, and the dielectric material of the parallel-plate transmission line can affect its frequency response. Specifically, the analysis of the transmission would test the various frequency responses when the dielectric sheet content is varied. The researchers will carry out experiments on air, Teflon, plexiglass, and E type glass dielectrics.

This paper reports the wireless vibration detector design and characterization for practical applications. System is built by using the ATmega microcontrollers, working on a free license 433 MHz frequency. Hardware characteristics are defined through experimental assessments. Assessment mainly on sensor output and sensor installation characteristics. As results, hardware is working as expected, where vibration level achieves at most 13% detection for 12 g vibration source. The vertical axis of the MPU6050 vibration detector results 87.5 times higher detection than in horizontal axis. Detected vibration increases from 1.03 g to 2.61 g when source-sensor distance is shortened from 10 cm to 2 cm. The aluminium sheet as sensor pad causes detection of 8.69 times higher than on ceramic pad. The lower the detection period the better the detection amplitude. However, the lower the period, the higher the consumed power. Microcontroller sleep mode is not suitable for short period detection. The node-based data validation to avoid transmitting false detection is not influencial for short period detection.

The objective of this article is to analyze the performances of non-independent speed control of dual-pmsm (permanent magnet synchronize motor) drives by a single three-leg voltage source inverter (VSI) using control of mean and differential torque technique. In general, there are two types of control strategies for dual-motor drives. One is master-slave technique and another one is mean control technique. For mean control technique, this study chooses mean and differential approach for the motors parameters and using average value for the voltage space vector. The advantages of dual-motor drives fed by a single inverter topology are, it can decrease the size and cost compared to the dual-motor drives which used by individual inverter, either in industrial or in traction applications. However, by using a single three-phase inverter, the topology only restricted for the same operating conditions which are at the same speed, same parameters and same direction. The dual-motors are dependent (non-independent) on the other motor. It is can only be tested on different load operation. The analysis is focuses on speed and load variation for dual-PMSM drives considering the forward and reverse operations of the motor. This simulation model is modelled using MATLAB-Simulink.

The advancements in artificial intelligence research, particularly in computer vision, have led to the development of previously unimaginable applications, such as generating new contents based on text description. In our work we focused on the text-to-image synthesis applications (TIS) field, to transform descriptive sentences into a real image. To tackle this issue, we use unsupervised deep learning networks that can generate high quality images from text descriptions, provided by eyewitnesses to assist law enforcement in their investigations, for the purpose of generating probable human faces. We analyzed a number of existing approaches and chose the best one. Deep fusion generative adversarial networks (DF-GAN) is the network that performs better than its peers, at multiple levels, like the generated image quality or the respect of the giving descriptive text. Our model is trained on the CelebA dataset and text descriptions (generated by our algorithm using existing attributes in the dataset). The obtained results from our implementation show that the learned generative model makes excellent quantitative and visual performances, the model is capable of generating realistic and diverse samples for human faces and create a complete portrait with respect of given text description.

In this paper, the chaotic particle swarm optimization (CPSO) algorithm is combined with MATPOWER toolbox and used as an optimization tool for attaining solving the optimal reactive power dispatch (RPD) problem, by finding the optimal adjustment of reactive power control variables like a voltage of generator buses (VG), capacitor banks (QC) and transformer taps (Tap) while satisfying some of equality and inequality constraints at the same time. CPSO and Simple PSO algorithms will be checked in a large system such as IEEE node -118. CPSO and Simple PSO algorithms have been implemented and simulated in the MATLAB program, version (R2013b/m-file). Then compassion these results with the results obtained in the other algorithms in the literature like the comprehensive learning particle swarm optimization (CLPSO) algorithm. The simulation results confirm that the CPSO algorithm has high efficiency and ability in terms of decrease real power losses (P loss), and improve voltage profile compared with the obtained by using the simple (PSO) algorithm and (CLPSO) at light load.
