Abstract

Sensing environmental measuring parameters has a pivotal role in our everyday lives. Most of our daily life activities depend upon environmental conditions. Accurate information about these parameters also helps in several industrial applications like ventilation rate calculation, energy prediction, stock maintenance in warehouses, and saving from harmful conditions. The emergence of machine learning can make it easy to predict such time series problems. This paper describes the design of a remotely controlled robotic car for measuring and predicting humidity and temperature. A customized app for accessing the robotic car is designed to indicate predicted and realtime measured values of humidity and temperature. A sensor installed builtin helps in the measurement. The recurrent neural network (RNN) model is used to predict humidity and temperature. For this purpose, experiments are carried out in both outdoor and indoor settings. Accuracy of 85% and 90% is achieved in an outdoor environment and indoor settings.

Abstract

The electronic government (e-government) worldwide is slowly progressing. The e-government progress in developing countries, such as Iraq, is slower compared with those of regional countries. Prior research suggested deploying cloud based E-government (CBEG). However, most studies are either review or conceptual. This study aims to examine the CBEG in Iraq and identify the criteria that are required for utilizing this technology. A total of 279 academic staff working in the IT department in Iraqi universities have participated in this study. The findings using matrix and the algorithm of partial least square presented ten criteria. After using the average variance extracted technique, the criteria reduced to seven. Further analysis using smart partial least square was conducted, and this resulted in five important criteria namely, reliability of the service followed by availability, security, trust, and technological competence. Decision makers have to increase the competence of the staff and enhance the CBEG services.

Abstract

In case of an accident occurrence, ambulance try to transport wounded and injured people to the nearest hospital, but if the injured persons need an urgent blood transfer, the emergency reception (ER) can check the availability of the needed blood type and quantity. If it is available, the emergency reception accepts the injured person, but if it is not available, the reception reroutes the ambulance to the nearest hospital which have the required blood type and quantity. So, a system created that save that wasted time to save injured people life as possible.  So, we create a system that save that wasted time to save injured people life as possible. So, the main contribution in this paper is selecting and determining the nearest hospital that own the proper blood types to save injurjed people lives using dijkstra algorithm. In this study, we use an android application at the ambulance which permit the paramedic to login and select the required blood type and quantity needed after determining the injured person’s blood type and the android application automatically determine the nearest hospital using the best shortest path algorithm (SPA) after checking the database and generate a pin code for the paramedic to deliver it with injured person to the ER and get the needed blood. This process will consequently decrease the used blood quantity from the database.

Abstract

The arabic sign language (ArSL) is the natural language of the deaf community in Arabic countries. ArSL suffers from a lack of resources such as unified dictionaries and corpora. In this work, a dictionary of Arabic language to ArSL has been constructed as a part of a translation system. The Arabic words are converted into hamburg notation system (HamNoSys) using eSign editor Software. HamNoSys was used to create manual parameters (handshape, hand orientation, hand location, and hand movement), while non-manual parameters (facial expressions, shoulder raising, mouthing gesture, head tilting, and body movement) added by using (mouth, face, and limbs) in the eSign editor software. The sign then converted to the sign gesture markup language (SiGML) file, and later 3D avatar interprets the SiGML file scripts to the animated sign. The constructed dictionary has three thousand signs; therefore, it can be adopted for the translation system in which written text can be transformed into sign language and can be utilized for the education of deaf people. The dictionary will be available as a free resource for researchers. It is hard and time-consuming work, but it is an essential step in machine translation of whole Arabic text to ArSL with 3D animations.

Abstract

Although public key cryptography is known to solve the problem of physically secure key exchange, the main drawback of this system is its low performance during encrypting and decrypting data. One of the ways to solve this issue is to increase the speed of the modular reduction operation, one of the basic operations of asymmetric cryptoalgorithms. A new method of step-by-step reduction by the N-bit module P using several bits of the 2Nbit reducible number A in one step is proposed in this paper. The method is based on using multiples of the P and reducing modulo at each step not the entire initial number, but its parts (A1, A2… Ai), which allows to reduce the bit capacity of A. A structural diagram of the hardware implementation of this method are developed. The main unit of the modular reduction device is a block of partial remainder formers, in which the partial remainder is computed using multiples of the P. The circuits are modeled in the Vivado Design Suite computer aided design (CAD) on base Artix-7 Fieldprogrammable gate array (FPGA) device from Xilinx. Abstract

In this paper, the convolutional neural network (CNN) is used in order to design an efficient optical character recognition (OCR) system for the Tifinagh characters. indeed, this approach has proved a greater efficiency by giving an accuracy of 99%, this approach based in keys points detection using Harris corner method, the detected points are automatically added to the original image to create a new database compared to the basic method that use directly the database after a preprocessing step consisting on normalization and thinning the characters. Using this method, we can benefit from the power of the convolutional neural network as classifier in image that has already the feature. The test was performed on the Moroccan Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM) database composed of 33000 characters of different size and style what present the difficulty, the keys points are the same in the printed and handwritten characters so this method can be apply in both type with some modifications.

Abstract

A single pole double throw (SPDT) discrete switch design using switchable substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) resonators is proposed in this paper. It was designed for the millimeter wave multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transceiver. An example application is for 5G communication in 26 GHz band. High isolation between transmitter and receiver (in the transceiver) is needed in SPDT switch design to minimize any high radio frequency (RF) power leakage in the receiver. Therefore, the use of switchable SIW resonators can achieve higher isolation if compared to the conventional series SPDT switch, where the isolation of the proposed SPDT is depend on the bandstop response of the SIW resonators. The switchable SIW resonators can be switched between allpass and bandstop responses to allow the operation between transmit and receive modes. As a result, the simulation and measurement showed that the proposed SPDT switch produced an isolation higher than 25 dB from 24.25 to 27.5 GHz compared to the conventional design.

Abstract

Aspect-based online information on social media plays a vital role in influencing people’s opinions when consumers concern with their decisions to make a purchase, or companies intend to pursue opinions on their product or services. Determining aspect-based opinions from the online information is necessary for business intelligence to support users in reaching their objectives. In this study, we propose the new aspect extraction and scoring system which has three procedures. The first procedure is normalizing and tagging part-of-speech for sentences of datasets. The second procedure is extracting aspects with pattern rules. The third procedure is assigning scores for aspects with SentiWordNet. In the experiments, benchmark datasets of customer reviews are used for evaluation. The performance evaluation of our proposed system shows that our proposed system has high accuracy when compared to other systems.

Abstract

Computer programming is a subject involving a large number of logic programming activities. A programmer is compulsory to master skills of algorithms, logic, and programming language to conduct programming. An automatic programming assessment tool is an automated tool used to assist instructors in assessing programming tasks. The technology used in this application is open-source based with an evaluation module that will evaluate the sent program code, assessment, and classification. The evaluation results were then processed in the assessment module, where a comparison process with the test case was performed along with the point calculation. The classification module was used to divide students into five groups based on the point of each practicum. This study used k-means clustering classification method. The entities included were lecturers, assistants, students, and compilers. This application had 2 levels of users namely admin and students. Scoring results were then used in the process of determining the classification of student’s performance based on the k-means clustering method. In connection with the classification test results with three iterations, three practicum scores resulted that the classification process was successfully carried out with student’s performance divided into five groups covering very good, good, sufficient, less, and very less. The data used in the clustering process consisted of 41 students with 10 attributes which were then grouped into 3 groups (clusters).

Abstract

The wireless sensor network clustering routing mechanism is the best multi-hop algorithm used to aggregate data from sensors to the base station. Therefore the elected nodes refuse to be a clusters heads CH and have a selfish and non cooperative behaviours in each group cluster. All that due to the high electric energy consumption, and especially that the most existing sensors are powered by batteries. In this paper, we will analyse the selfishness behaviour by using the most knowing mathematical model Game theory to improve the interaction decision making for the CH selection, and make a comparison with LEACH protocol.
