Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decline in tourism in Bali. Tourist visits decreased drastically, causing a significant decrease in income for companies engaged in the tourism sector. This has a broad impact on the economy of Bali, considering that tourism is the main motor of the Balinese economy. The government as a decision maker and policy maker is experiencing difficult times, because the health protocol demands restrictions on the movement of the masses, while the economy cannot run without community activities. One of Bali's tourism stakeholders is the Bali tourism professional association which has an important role in helping the government overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to (i) identify the role of tourism professional associations and (ii) analyze Bali's tourism development strategies in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic through the role of tourism professional associations. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach to obtain an in-depth understanding of the field situation through interviews with tourism expert respondents and practitioners. The results of interviews and ISM questionnaires are used as data sources processed by the ISM (Interpretive Structural Modeling) method. This research is based on the Pentahelix concept which is stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Tourism (Permen) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 of 2016 concerning Guidelines for Sustainable Tourism Destinations. The results show that: (i) the role of the tourism professional association is very important in supporting the development of Bali tourism in the face of the COVID19 pandemic, (ii) Bali tourism development strategies, namely: verification of the application of new habits during the COVID-19 pandemic, improving the system and synchronization between government agencies / agencies in managing tourism in accordance with health protocols and continuing to socialize new era customs regulations for hotel and restaurant tourism actors in a sustainable manner. Covid-19 has caused major changes in teaching-and-learning practice, one of them is the change from a conservative face-to-face in-class teaching and learning practice into an online class. This change has caused disturbances in the practice. The unreadiness both from the human resources and the technology become the main problems in conducting an online teaching-and-learning practice, therefore, it is interesting to find out the students’ perception toward the online teaching-and-learning practice. This research tried to find out the students’ satisfaction toward the online class of English General subject. The respondents were the students of tourism faculty and business faculty of Triatma Mulya University who were taking the English General subject in total of 94 students. The survey results show that the main hindrances in taking an online class are the internet bandwidth, signal stability, and data plan (internet quota). When the Covid-19 pandemic has ended, most of the students prefer to have the regular offline class, 3 students suggest to combine online and offline classes, and only 2 students prefer to have an online class. Abstract

In general, tourism potential is divided into two groups, namely: cultural potential and natural potential. Tourism potential is everything in an area / tourist spot that can be developed into a tourist attraction so that it can become an attraction for tourists to visit the area. Banjar Pakraman Sidembunut has many tourist attractions, including natural, spiritual, culinary, cultural and historical attractions, which are centered in the catus patha or pempatan agung area. This area also has a village temple with kori agung with unique Balinese architecture since the 8th century. The community establishes a shelter around this catus patha by utilizing the natural potential that has existed for a long time. Ecotourism Bukit Cemeng is one of them, which is located at the eastern end of Bukit Bangli, the western boundary is at Banjar Brahmana Bukit and the eastern boundary is in Sidembunut with many potentials, among others Pancuran Suji Tourism is two pancoran locations where one is used for a holy place to do melukat while the other is a public bath, Hyang Ukir Temple which is worthy of being a spiritual location and starting trekking towards the Bukit Cemeng ecotourism, there is also Taman Sari River which is a public bath and irrigation route for rice fields, and in Taman Sari there is also an artificial cave, Gua Merku, besides that there is also a small industry of making souvenirs from solid stone chisels, wood and woven bamboo. So that with this great potential, Bukit Cemeng Ecotourism can develop into a leading tourist attraction in Bangli Regency. Keywords: tourism potential, tourist attraction, ecotourism
