Abstract

Turnover intention is the emergency of a desire to quit or leave a job. Turnover is one of the problems that arise related to human resources. Generally, employees who do turnover are caused by the distribution of workloads that are not appropriate and evenly distributed. The purpose of this study was to analyze the direct effect of workload and work stress on turnover intention, and examine the mediating role of work stress on the effect of workload on employee turnover intention at J4 Legian Bali Hotels. The population in this study amounted to 45 employees, with saturated sampling method, the type of research is quantitative research with causality associative approach. Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires (google form) and then data was analyzed by SEM-PLS. the results show that there is a positive and significant effect of workload on turnover intention, there is a positive and significant influence of workload on work stress, there is a positive and significant influence of work stress on turnover intention, and work stress partially mediates the effect of workload on turnover intention in J4 Legian Bali Hotels.

Abstract

This research to analyze the effect to price and quality product on buying decision of tour package partially and simultanly. The sample used in this study is purposive sampling technique where use 98 respondens of all the domestic tourist. The analysis technique used in this study are analysis descriptive, analysis classic assumption, correlation analysis, analysis regression multiple linear, hypothesis testing (T-test and F-test), analysis of determination, and analysis standardized coefficients beta. The results of this research are analysis show that price (X1) partially has a positive and significant effect on buying decision of tour package at PT. Nusa Devata Bali Holiday Bali which is shown by the positive coefficient of b1x1 regression. Quality product (X2) has a positive and significant effect on buying decision of tour package at PT. Nusa Devata Bali Holiday Bali, this can be seen from the regression coefficient b2x2 which is positive. Other information obtained is that price (X1) and quality product (X2) has a positive and significant influence on buying decision of tour package (Y) at PT. Nusa Devata Bali Holiday Bali, this is confirmed by using the F test obtained F count = 14,429> F table = 3.092 with Sig.F = 0,000 (p <0.05). The amount of influence contributed by price (X1) and quality product (X2) on buying decision (Y) is 23.3%, while the remaining 76.7% is influenced by other variables outside of this observation.

Abstract

The thesis entitled "The Influence of Communication and Work Motivation on Employee Performance at the Como Shambhala Estate Hotel Ubud" aims to determine the effect of communication on employee performance at the Como Shambhala Estate Ubud Hotel. To determine the effect of work motivation on employee performance at the Como Shambhala Estate Hotel Ubud. To find out how big the influence of communication and work motivation on employee performance at the Como Shambhala Estate Hotel Ubud. To find out which variables have the dominant influence on employee performance at the Como Shambhala Estate Hotel Ubud. The sample used was 60 people and this study used a questionnaire in data collection. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear analysis, t-test analysis, coefficient of determination, and Standardized Coefficient Beta. The results of the analysis produce a regression equation model Y = 2.675 + 0.337 X1 + 1.073 X2 which shows that communication (X1) has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Work motivation (X2) has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The magnitude of the influence of communication and work motivation on employee performance at the Como Shambhala Estate Hotel Ubud is 85.6%. Work motivation is the most dominant variable affecting employee performance at Hotel Como Shambhala Estate Ubud with a value of 0.741, while the communication variable is 0.260.

Abstract

Penggunaan ragam bahasa dilakukan dalam pembelajaran bahasa dalam proses interaksi antara pembelajar dan pengajar dan antar pembelajar. Penggunaan ragam bahasa dapat bervariasi tergantung dari penutur dan mitra tutur, topik yang dibicarakan dan kondisi pada saat berinteraksi. Kajian ini membahas tentang penggunaan alih kode (code switching), campur kode (code mixing) dan faktor penyebab penggunaan alih kode (code switching) dan campur kode (code mixing) dalam interaksi pembelajaran General English di Sekolah Menengah Kejurusan Triatma Jaya ( SMK TJ ) Tabanan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Percakapan Siswa SMK TJ Tabanan adalah sumber data penelitian ini. Metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi diterapkan dalam kajian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa :1) bentuk alih kode yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran General English adalah alih kode ekternal yaitu interaksi yang terjadi antara penutur dengan mitra tutur dengan menggunakan bahasa itu sendiri, misalnya dari Bahasa Indonesia ke Bahasa Inggris dan sebaliknya, 2) campur kode yang digunakan adalah outher code mixing dan hybrid code mixing. Faktor penyebab penggunaan variasi bahasa ini dapat dijelaskan sebagai berikut campur kode dsebabkan karena faktor (1)mitra bicara,(2) topik,(3) fungsi dan tujuan pembicara,(3) ragam dan tindak tutur bahasa, sedangkan alih kode disebabkan oleh faktor (1)pembicara,(2) topik (3) fungsi dan tujuan pembicara,(4) ragam dan tindak tutur bahasa. Kata kunci : alih code, campur kode, pembelajaran, general English, interaksi, SMK The use of various languages is carried out in language learning in the process of interaction between students to teachers and between students to students. The use of the various languages can vary depending on the speaker and speech partner, the topic being discussed and the conditions during the interaction. This study discusses the use of code switching, code mixing and the factors causing the use of cade switching and code mixing in general English learning interactions at Triatma Jaya Vocational High School (SMK TJ) Tabanan. This research is qualitative descriptive research. Conversation that used by the students to teachers and the students to students are the data source for this research. Observation, interviews and study documentation methods were applied in this study. The result of the research show that: 1) the code switching form used in General English learning is external code switching, namely the interaction that occurs between speakers and interlocutors using the language itself for example from Indonesian to English or from English to Indonesian, 2) code mixing that used in the General English learning are outer code mixing and hybrid code mixing,3) the factors causing the use of language variations can be explained as follows : code mixing is caused by factors (1) interlocutor,(2) topic, (3) function and purpose of the speakers,(4) langiage function and speech act, while code switching is caused by factors ;(1) speakers, (2) topic, (3) function and purposes of the speaker, (4) varieties and language speech act.    Keywords : code switching, code mixing, learning, general English, interaction, vocational school

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the application of artificial intelligence (Copilot) in evaluating student writing in writing simple past tense. The method of this research is qualitative. The data collection technique was carried out by collecting 5 student writings randomly. The data analysis technique was carried out with qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that the copilot was able to create a rubric used to evaluate students' writing in writing simple past tense. This rubric consists of several parts, namely content development, organization, grammar and mechanics, usage and style. The results showed that copilots were able to evaluate well, such as being able to identify topic coverage, relevance, paragraph structure, transitions, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation, verb tense consistency and word choice. The feedback provided by Copilot is able to describe writing errors well and in detail. Teachers are advised to utilize artificial intelligence in the learning process, especially in evaluating student writing. Teachers can explore the use of artificial intelligence and its capabilities in language learning so that they can work more easily and effectively. Teachers can integrate AI tools such as Copilot into the assessment process, particularly grammar and tenses. The developer of AI should continuously refine AI capability to give more sophisticated feedback on complex transitions and sentence structures. Keywords: Writing, artificial Inteliggence, Assesment

Abstract

Increasing interest in learning English among primary school students is essential to support the growth of tourism in Kuwum Village. Innovative learning methods applied to increase students' interest and ability in learning English include learning while playing or educational games, making mading, making pencil case crafts, piggy bank crafts, photo frame crafts, coloring activities, and putting together puzzles. One of the biggest challenges in teaching English to elementary school students is keeping students engaged and motivated. This activity aims to increase literacy, students' interest in learning English, and develop innovative learning models. The results obtained during the teaching activities are that students become more active and motivated in learning English, students become more creative in utilizing used goods, and are able to cooperate with their friends in putting together puzzles. This innovative learning activity is able to increase students' motivation in learning English at SD Desa Kuwum. The Triatma Mulya University Thematic Community Service (KKN) team has implemented interactive and interesting teaching methods, providing a conducive learning environment, and adapting learning to students' interests and needs.

Abstract

Teaching online during the covid-19 pandemic is challenging to teachers. The challenge is to provide an interesting online learning environment to students which is the same with what they give in offline classroom. This becomes challenge because teaching online is new experience for most of the teachers. Effective teaching strategies are needed by students to prevent boredom and improve engagement in the online classroom. This study aims to describe the teachers’ strategies in teaching English online to elementary level students of Triatma Jaya vocational high school. The data was collected through interview and observation. 14 Teachers were interviewed to collect data. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The result showed that teacher applied some strategies to teach online speaking, for instance interview, role play, discussion, games, and pictures. Teacher used pictures in various activities such as storytelling, describing pictures and picture narrating. However, there were some obstacles encountered while implementing these strategies, namely the unstable internet connection, insufficient knowledge of technology, students could imitate their friends work, and the amount of time spent to practice speaking in online classroom which result to students’ boredom. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tindak tutur dan prinsip kerjasama dalam komunikasi pada proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Housekeeping pada mahasiswa Manajemen Akomodasi Perhotelan di Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata (STIPAR) Triatma Jaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan penerapan tindak tutur dalam menciptakan komunikasi yang efektif dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Profesi (2) Mendeskripsikan penerapan prinsip kerjasama dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Profesi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dengan mengkaji Lesson Plan ( Teaching-Learning Activity Plan ) Bahasa Inggris Profesi yang digunakan pada Jenjang Diploma III, Program Studi Perhotelan, Konsentrasi Manajemen Akomodasi Perhotelan, semester 3 di STIPAR Triatma Jaya, Badung. Dari temuan tersebut ditunjukkan bahwa penerapan tindak tutur dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Profesi adalah berhubungan dengan konteks pembelajaran bahasa Inggris Profesi tersebut yaitu: (1) tujuan pembelajaran adalah mahasiswa dapat menerapkan ekspresi maupun ujaran-ujaran pada departemen tata graha ; (2) Terdapat tiga tahap aktivitas yang harus dilakukan yaitu (a) pre-activities, (b) whilst-activities, (c) post-activities; (3) metode pembelajaran yang digunakan ( a ) deductive method (b) working group and role play (c) discussion (d) reinforcement.; (4) metode evaluasi dengan Psychomotor / product Assessment.; (5) media yang digunakan media audia visual, media dalam metode sibernetik dan alat-alat yang digunakan oleh seorang telephone operator. Sedangkan penerapan prinsip kerjasama ditemukan penerapan (1) maksim kualitas (the maxim of quality) (2) maksim kuantitas (the maxim of quality): (3) maksim hubungan (the maxim of relevance), (4) maksim tata cara (the maxim of manner). Hasil analisis menunjukkan fungsi tindak tutur dan penerapan prinsip kerjasama pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Profesi berperanan kompetitif dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mekanisme penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif pada mahasiswa Manajemen kepariwisataan STIPAR Triama Jaya untuk mengetahui kemampuan menulis siswa dalam bahasa Inggris sebelum penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif, dan kemampuan keterampilan menulis siswa. setelah penerapan model ini. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Diploma III Manajemen Kepariwisataan (MPW) semester 3 STIPAR Triatma Jaya Badung, Bali Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 dengan jumlah sampel 10 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa yang dibuktikan dengan hasil analisis data kuantitatif sederhana. Secara kuantitatif terjadi peningkatan kemampuan menulis mahasiswa MPW STIPAR Triatma Jaya Semester 3. Rerata skor dalam grammar dan vocabulary adalah (2.3), discourse (2.7), clarity of meaning (3.0), the relationship between ideas (3,4). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai pretest siswa adalah 10,4, rata-rata kemampuan grammar dan vocabulary (3,0), discourse (3,7), clarity of meaning (3,5), relationship between ideas (3,8). Nilai kemampuan menulis siswa pada post test adalah 14. This study aims to determine the mechanism for applying the cooperative learning model to the students of Tourism Management of STIPAR Triama Jaya to determine the students’ writing skills in English before the application of the cooperative learning model , and to the ability of students' writing skills after the application of this model. The research subjects were students of Diploma III, Tourism Management (MPW) semester 3, STIPAR Triatma Jaya, Badung, Bali in 2018/2019 academic year with a sample of 10 people. The results showed that the application of the cooperative learning model can improve students' writing skills, as evidenced by the results of simple quantitative data analysis. Quantitatively, there is an increase in the ability of students of MPW STIPAR Triatma Jaya Semester 3 in writing. The mean of score in grammar and vocabulary was (2.3), discourse (2.7), clarity of meaning (3.0), the relationship between ideas (3,4). The result showed that the student’s score on the pretest was is 10.4, average grammar and vocabulary abilities (3.0), discourse management (3,7), clarity of meaning (3.5), relationship between ideas (3,8). Abstract

The use of speech act cannot be separated from our daily life, an example of it is in the verbal interaction in classroom learning. Students use speech acts in classroom to convey messages such as to express politeness. This study aimed to find out (1) the expression forms and (2) the delivering strategies of Indonesian speech act politeness of the students of Hospitality Business Management of Triatma Mulya University Bali in the verbal interaction in the teaching and learning process of Indonesian subject. The sample was 35 students of Hospitality Business Management of Triatma Mulya University who were taking Indonesian subject. The data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method by employing a communication ethnography design. The findings show that the students’ politeness forms of speech act in using Indonesian can be expressed in forms of declarative, interrogative, and imperative modes, while (2)the students politeness strategies are expressed in forms of direct and indirect speech act strategies.
