Introduction: Lower back pain in pregnant women trimester II and III causes difficulty in standing or even moving from bed, and the lousy impact is difficulty in walking if it has spread to the lumbar or pelvic region. The study aimed to know the effects of the combination of Benson relaxation and pelvic tilting on back pain in pregnant women. Methods: The research was Quasi-experiment. The population is second-trimester pregnant women who experience lower back pain in the Public Health Center Mojo and Public Health Center Gading, Surabaya. Purposive sampling was used to gain 56 respondents. The independent variable of this study was the second trimester pregnant women with low back pain treated for two weeks. The dependent variable was the intensity of the pain level. Research data obtained by pre-test and post-test with VAS questioner. Analyzed using the Wilcoxon sign rank test and Mann- Whitney test. Results: As a result of the combination of Benson's relaxation and pelvic tilting, there was an influence on the back pain of second-trimester pregnant women. Based on the Mann-Whitney test, there were significant differences in the treatment group or the control group with p = 0.000.Conclusion: The combination of Benson relaxation and pelvic tilting decreases the scale of low back pain in pregnant women. Pelvic tilting is more influential because it can reduce the pain scale.

Abstract

Introduction: Hormonal injection contraception is the most widely used method of contraception in Indonesia. In long-term use, one of the side effects of injection contraception is changes in lipid metabolism in the body caused by the accumulation of hormones in the body. Two types of injectional contraception are widely used in Indonesia, namely combined injection and DMPA injection; different hormonal content has various side effects on the lipid profile. This study aimed to compare the total cholesterol level between acceptors of DMPA injection and combined injection. Methods: This study used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size is 60 respondents, including 30 DMPA injection acceptors and 30 combination injection acceptors. The sampling method uses a purposive sampling technique The independent variable in this study was the total cholesterol level of the acceptor, and the dependent variable was the acceptor of DMPA injection and the combination injection acceptor. Analysis of research data used the Independent T-test with α=0.05.Results: The results of the bivariate analysis found significant differences in total cholesterol levels in the DMPA injection contraception acceptor and combination injection with p= 0.037. It was found that overall cholesterol levels of DMPA injection acceptors were higher. Conclusion: There is a difference in total cholesterol levels in the DMPA injection contraception acceptor with a combination injection contraception acceptor.

Abstract

Introduction:The incidence of breast cancer has increased every year, mostly in developing countries. However, breast cancer awareness in women is still insufficient. A woman must be aware of breast cancer disease earlier. This study aimed to describe breast cancer awareness in female adolescents. Methods: The research design was used descriptive-analytic. The study population consisted of female adolescents in 10th-11th grade at Vocational High School in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The sample was taken using stratified random sampling. There are 206 female adolescents aged 15-18 years old who participated in this study. Data collected using a self-structured breast cancer awareness questionnaire arranged by Breast Cancer Awareness Measurement (BCAM) guideline. The questionnaire consisted of breast cancer knowledge (disease, signs and symptoms, risk factors), perception, and BSE. The statistical analysis was using distribution frequency. Results: The result presented that the majority of female adolescents had high awareness (67,5%). The maximum score was knowledge of disease (3.28 ± 0.54) (table 3). The minimum score was risk factors knowledge (1.95 ± 0.69) and BSE (1.81 ± 0.78).Conclusion: The respondents have good knowledge of breast cancer disease yet understanding of risk factors is low. It is necessary to do counseling programs in school, particularly women's reproductive health and breast self-examination (BSE) due to improve knowledge of risk factors in female adolescents.
