Abstract

A leading commodity (base) has a comparative and competitive advantage over similar commodities in a region. Indramayu Regency has several superior food commodities that have great potential to be developed because they are supported by its agricultural land resources. The purpose of this research is to identify the superior food base commodities in Indramayu Regency through the LQ method. The research was conducted in Indramayu Regency in February-March 2020. The research location was determined purposively. The data collected is secondary data obtained from the Agriculture Office of Indramayu Regency, namely time series data on harvested area and food crop production in Indramayu Regency for a period of five years (2015-2019). The results showed that the distribution of the most superior food commodities in Indramayu Regency was rice. Kroya and Terisi Districts have the most superior food commodities, namely corn, soybeans, peanuts, cassava and sweet potatoes. The green bean commodity in Kedokan Bunder District has the highest LQ value> 1 among all food crops. Keywords: Basis, comparative, competitive, Indramayu, rice

Abstract

Zoning of agricultural commodities in Cirebon Regency is needed in the framework of determining and developing superior commodities that have comparative advantages. The aim of this research is to arrange the zoning of agricultural commodities based on the agroecological zone in Cirebon Regency. The research location includes 16 sub-districts in the eastern part of Cirebon Regency, covering an area of ​​54.015 ha. The methods used in the research include: surveys, laboratory analysis, land evaluation and spatial analysis. The results obtained 10 agricultural systems and 30 commodity zoning units which include: a) wetland agriculture, with commodities of lowland rice, shallots, sugar cane, corn and soybeans, b) dry land agriculture, food crops, with upland rice and corn commodities, c) dry land agriculture, animal feed (grass), d) dry land agriculture, food crops (upland rice, maize, peanuts, soybeans) and perennial crops (sugarcane, teak, sengon), e) agriculture dry land, food crops (upland rice, maize, soybean), horticulture (mango), and perennial crops (sugarcane and sengon), (f) dry land agriculture, perennial crops (sugarcane and sengon) and food crops ( upland rice, maize, and peanuts), (g) dry land agriculture, annual crops/plantations with sengon commodities, (h) brackish water fishery (shrimp or milkfish pond), (i) wetland forest as a buffer zone, and (j) dry land forest as a conservation zone. Abstract

Tomato is one of Indonesia's export commodities that its production continues to increase from year to year. The high demand for tomatoes must be in the line with the guarantee of quality product until it reach to the consumers. The treatments given to maintain the quality of tomatoes were the maturity stages (green and turning) and the concentration of chitosan (2%, 3%, and 4%). The aim of this study is to obtain the information about the effect of maturity stages, chitosan consentration, and its interaction to the quality of tomatoes at 21 days of storage. The results showed that the ‘turning’ initial maturity stage showed a significantly higher weight loss and consumer preference leve and lower level of hardness than tomatoes with ‘green’ initial maturity. The 3% chitosan coating treatment had a significant effect on increasing the soluable solid content of tomatoes. The combination treatment did not give any significant interactions to the quality of tomatoes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cabbage is one of vegetable crop belongs to Genus Brassica, a member of Family Cruciferae (Brassicaeae). The crop is originally from subtropical areas and has long been cultivated in Indonesia. Crop landscape ecosystem is very dynamic, both of its biotic and abiotic factors. Plant disturbing organism is an obstacle and production limiting factor in Indonesia either fir food crops, horticultural crops or estate crops. Inter cropping is cropping pattern cultivating more than one crop species in an area at the same time. Intercropping is one of efforts in agriculture intensification program to optimize crop production and maintain soil fertility. The objective of this field study was to know the effects of cultural technique on pest infestation on cabbage cultivation in Village Kerinjing, Sub district Dempo Utara, City of Pagar Alam. Observation method applied was conducted using purposive sampling method. Data collected was primary data in the form of damage intensity and secondary data collected by interviewing farmers. Based on the analysis of weekly data of damage intensity of three different cabbage cultivations in Village Kerinjing, there was no significant difference among the tree cultivations. Abstract

ABSTRACT Red chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) is a vegetable crop belongs to Family Solanaceae. The high daily demand of the commodit have made the crop become strategic commodity. In the cultivation of red chilli, there are some obstacles faced by the chilli farmers. The main obstacle is disturbance by pests and diseases. The damages caused by pest had reduced the crop yield because the crop cannot growth and development optimally. The objective of this field study was to know the effect of cultural technique on pest species, population and damage caused by the pest on red chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) in Village Kerinjing District Dempo Utara, City of Pagar Alam, South Sumatra. Observation method included sample land determination, sample plot determination, and sample plants determination, also observing pest population and damage intensity caused by the pest. Observation was conducted in 3 red chilli cultivations of different ages. Pest population and damage intensity were analysed using analysis of variance with 5% degree of significant. Pest found in red chilli cultivation was Spodoptera litura (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). Based on field observation, the difference in cultural technique among the chilli cultivation sampled had significant effect on pest population and damage intensity caused by Spodoptera litura. Abstract

Red spinach plants are used as a food source of protein, especially for developing countries, so that the growth and yield of red spinach increases, it is necessary to add additional nutrient input from organic fertilizers such as goat manure and goat urine. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of goat manure organic fertilizer and the effect of the interaction of goat urine liquid fertilizer on red spinach plants. The research was carried out from March 2018 to April 2018 in Sambirejo Village, Jalan Sabar Jaya, Banyuasin 1 District, South Sumatra. This study was arranged using a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with three replications. The factors used were goat manure organic fertilizer consisting of three levels, namely K0, K1, K2 and goat urine liquid organic fertilizer consisting of five levels, namely U0, U1, U2, U3, U4. The parameters observed consisted of number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), plant height (cm), plant dry weight (g), plant fresh weight (g). The application of organic fertilizer only affects goat manure but does not affect the production of red spinach plants, it’s just that in the K2U2 treatment (10 shows the best production on the number of leaves and weight of wet bark. Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the level of S. coarctata pest attack on rice plants applied with B. bassiana bioinsecticide and chicken manure. The research was conducted in Musi Rawas Regency from January to May April 2017. The identification of arthropods was carried out at the Pest and Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Musi Rawas University. This study used an experimental method with a factorial randomized block design (RBD), which consisted of 2 treatment factors and was repeated 3 times. The results of the analysis of diversity showed that the application of bioinsecticide (B) and the treatment of manure (K) had a very significant effect on the observation of the level of damage due to S. coarctata attacks, while the interaction between the application of bioinsecticide and manure had no significant effect. The lowest level of damage was found in treatment B1 which was 3.87% and the highest was in treatment B0 which was 6.42%. For the treatment of livestock manure, the lowest level of damage was K1, namely 4.3% and the highest level of damage was K3 treatment, namely 5.24%. Whereas for treatment interactions, the lowest level of damage was found in the B1K1 combination, namely 3.37% and the highest in the B0K3 treatment combination, namely 7.4%. Abstract

Agregat tanah merupakan kesatuan partikel tanah yang melekat satu dengan yang lainnya lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan partikel sekitarnya. Kemantapan agregat tanah dapat didefinisikan sebagai kemampuan tanah untuk bertahan terhadap gaya-gaya yang akan merusaknya. Agregat tanah yang mantap akan mempertahankan sifat-sifat tanah yang baik untuk pertumbuhan tanaman sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil produksi cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis pupuk hayati dan frekuensi pemberian pupuk alkalis terbaik terhadap kemantapan agregat tanah dan produksi tanaman cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.). Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun secara faktorial (3x3) dengan 3 ulangan dengan faktor pertama 3 taraf dosis pupuk hayati yaitu 0 l/Ha, 4 l/Ha, dan 8 l/Ha dan pemberian pupuk pelengkap alkalis yang terdiri dari perlakuan tanpa pupuk pelengkap, pemberian pupuk pelengkap 1 kali/minggu, dan pemberian pupuk pelengkap 2 kali/minggu sebagai faktor kedua. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pemberian pupuk hayati hingga 8 l/ha berpengaruh terhadap meningkatnya kemantapan agregat tanah, bobot kering akar, dan bobot buah per petak secara signifikan. Pupuk alkalis dengan interval aplikasi 2 kali per minggu meningkatkan bobot kering akar dan bobot buah perpetak. Sedangkan interaksi kedua faktor hanya berpengaruh pada bobot buah per petak. Kata Kunci : Agregat Tanah, Pupuk Hayati, Pupuk Pelengkap Alkalis
