Abstract

This intersection is a commercial area with many shops, restaurants, and offices, and is the main access to the Twin Bridges of Gowa, which is the only access road between districts/cities. Congestion is caused by high traffic volumes at certain time periods, road user behavior and heavy load vehicles often crossing the intersection. This study is to evaluate the performance of the intersection using the Calculation method with the equation of the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997 to obtain performance evaluation results and efforts to overcome congestion problems at the intersection. The results show that the high volume of traffic in the morning and evening with the available road capacity cannot meet the volume of vehicles passing through the intersection. Thus the degree of saturation shows a very saturated level with traffic density, congestion and poor traffic performance. The level of service is rated F (very poor) with a delay value (D) ≥60.0. Indicating extreme congestion conditions, drivers will have difficulty navigating through the intersection with severely constrained travel times. Thus, several measures are needed to address the problem, such as adjustment and optimization of traffic signal duration, traffic regulation and management, analysis and long-term planning.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the level of flood risk in Bangkala Sub-district, Jeneponto Regency. The analysis method used in identifying the level of flood risk by using disaster risk indicators, including threats, vulnerability and capacity. This analysis is carried out based on factors that affect the level of danger, vulnerability and capacity of the community. Data collection methods were conducted through (1) observation and (2) interviews to obtain data on disaster management capacity, and (3) documentation and interpretation to obtain data related to hazards and vulnerability to flood disasters. The results showed that the risk level is divided into 3 categories, namely low, medium and high. (1) Low category is in Marayoka village, (2) Medium category is in Pallengu, Benteng, Tombo-Tombolo, Jenetallasa, Bontomanai, Gunung Silanu, Kapita and Pallantikang and (3) High category is in Mallasoro, Punagaya Pantai Bahari, Bontorannu and Kalimporo villages. Community synergy together with academics, government and stakeholders is needed to improve community resilience in flood-prone areas.

Abstract

The avaibility and demand for clean water are crucial aspects of community life, particularly in the Bangkala District of Jenponto Regency, which features divers geographical conditions . This study aims to analyze the availability and demand for clean water in Bangkala District , focusing on the distribution of household connections (SR) and water consumption levels in each village and sub-district. The data used include population size, land area, and elevation og the villages. The analysis seeks to identify gaps between the availability and demand for clean water among the community. The findings indicate significant variations in water availability across the villages, with those situated at lower elevations tending to have better access to water. Conversely, villages at higher elevations face challenges in accsessing clean water. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for improving the clean water distribution system in Bangkala District to optimally meet community needs.

Abstract

Derawan Island is one of the islands that has an interesting habitat for turtles to carry out egg-laying activities. This island is included in the Regional Government of Berau Regency, East Kalimantan which is famous as the largest green turtle spawning area in Indonesia. Of the six types of turtles spread in the waters in Indonesia, there are three types of turtles on Derawan Island, including green turtles, hawksbill turtles, and leatherback turtles. Due to the increase in illegal capture and collection of turtle eggs in the Derawan Islands, the number of biota has decreased. The development activities in coastal areas that can damage turtle habitats to lay eggs such as the construction of beach tourism facilities and the construction of coastal walls or embankments. The current turtle breeding buildings in general are very inadequate. Therefore, based on the explanation above, in line with the efforts to manage turtles in Indonesia, a forum is needed for turtle management actors in the field. With the existence of a turtle breeding conservation center to manage turtle eggs that will hatch and also as a place to protect turtles that are in the process of breeding, it is hoped that it can protect the declining turtle population

Abstract

This study examines domestic wastewater infrastructure in the slum area of Barombong Village, Makassar City. Gray water drains are drained directly into the soil without a treatment process, while black water management is on top of stagnant soil, increasing the risk of contamination. The high density of buildings causes the discharge of grey water directly into the river to pollute the water and soil. The analysis method used to improve the quality of domestic wastewater infrastructure is a weighting analysis with scoring based on the classification of sustainability levels aimed at determining the level of sustainability of infrastructure at the research site. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to determine the direction of sustainable development of gray water and black water infrastructure. The results show that the sustainability level of grey water in zones 1, 2, 3 and 5 is categorized as low, while zone 4 is categorized as moderate. The sustainability level of black water in zones 1, 2, 3 and 4 is categorized as moderate, while zone 5 is low. The direction of sustainable black water WWTP infrastructure in zones 1, 2, and 3 is the construction of communal septic tanks, zone 4 biogas digesters, and zone 5 individual septic tanks. Meanwhile, the direction of grey water infrastructure in zones 1, 2, and 3 is the construction of wetlands, zone 4 anaerobic biofilters, and zone 5 grey water recycling.

Abstract

One of the marine tourism trends that is starting to develop in Indonesia is diving tourism, which known as "diving". Seeing from the potential for marine tourism in various regions, there is Selayar Islands Regency which is one of the areas in Indonesia that has abundant underwater natural resources and has dozens of diving spots. It is undeniable that diving tourism, which is increasingly popular, opens economic taps for the surrounding community but also poses ecological challenges. This is because not all visitors are equipped with basic knowledge about how to treat marine life and coral reefs. Therefore educational facilities are needed in the realm of diving tourism to increase the knowledge and awareness of tourists which function as a means of diving training for visitors. Training facilities or dive centers are expected to be able to support tourism so that this dive center is intended to improve the quality of tourism and the sustainability of underwater ecosystems. The dive center in Selayar Islands Regency is planned using a Tropical Architecture concept approach so that later the building is expected to be able to adapt according to the local climate with its functions and characteristics.

Abstract

Tombolo Pao District possesses significant potential for horticultural development due to its favorable agroclimate and increasing market demand. However, inadequate infrastructure hampers its development and limits the competitiveness of its superior commodities. This study analyzes the leading horticultural commodities in Tombolo Pao and evaluates existing infrastructure as a support for agropolitan development. Data collected includes secondary data on agricultural outputs and primary data on facilities and infrastructure. The analyses utilized include qualitative descriptive, location quotient (LQ), SWOT, and IFAS-EFAS methods. The LQ analysis reveals that the horticulture subsector of vegetable crops has a value of 8.07, with leading commodities including green beans 1.53, curly chili 1.48, cauliflower 1.98, cabbage 1.11, chayote 1.80, mustard greens 1.54, and tomatoes 1.93. These findings confirm horticulture as a key subsector in the district. Based on the SWOT analysis, a strategy in Quadrant I S-O strategy is recommended. This involves enhancing agribusiness efficiency through integrated zoning, research innovation, sustainable irrigation systems, and farmer training programs to improve productivity and quality. These measures aim to optimize the district's horticultural potential and support sustainable agropolitan development
