Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelago country in the world that has a sea area that is very spacious. Indonesian sea area is 5.8 million square kilometers and a coastline of 95 181 km has huge potential in the fisheries sector. In line with the need to further improve on the quality of the fish catch. One way to preserve fish is to use a slurry of ice. Slurry ice proved more effective preserving fishery products instead of using ice cubes. Ice slurry cooling system was designed and applied to the fishing vessel 30 GT. The cooling system uses a simple vapor compression system consists of five major components consisting of evaporator, condenser, compressor, and two pumps. In designing this system determined the type of refrigerant used in advance which type of refrigerant R-507a. Then do the design or selection of its main components. The design is only done on the evaporator. As for the other major components such as condensers, compressors, and pumps election in accordance with the specification of the power needed. After that dialakukan depiction of each system component. Then subsequently designing the laying of ice slurry cooling system components on a fishing vessel 30 GT.            Through calculations using simple thermodynamic equations obtained cooling load on this system amounted to 32.06 kW. Condenser with a power of 40 kW. Compressor with power 12 kW. Pump with capacity 10 m3 / h. With memepertimbangkan space left on the ship in the ice slurry system design on the main deck of the ship to the efficient use of space on board. The power requirements of the generator vessel increases due to the addition of ice slurry system components therefore do replacement generator into the generator with a power of 100 kW and penambahn fuel tank to 6,000 L.

Abstract

Indonesia is a big country having big population, huge area and huge Exclusive Economic Zone area. For world harmonized growth, it is quite important to realize steady economy growth on Indonesia. Growth of Indonesia’s shipbuilding industry specifically is an important part to achieve Indonesia’s maritime vision, but by far as for the shipbuilding market, 3 major countries, China, South Korea and Japan have obtained almost 100% share, which means it is quite difficult to increase the world share. In the volatile marine world, fluctuating oil price often affect production capacity, and investment decision is hard to get with TOP management. Indonesia shipbuilding industry has big mission under severe management and environmental condition. We clarify basic dilemma / conflict inhibiting the growth of Indonesia shipbuilding industry under assumption of severe management environmental condition, with Theory of Constraints (TOC). The basic dilemmas are solved by erasing the reason of existence of opposite activity and the Indonesia shipbuilding ever-lasting development logic is proposed with the solution of basic dilemma.

Abstract

Maintenance is one of the important things to maintain a company in the industry. A company, such as LNG production company, must be able to produce and meet energy needs independently to support all operations, such as cooling water system that functions to control the temperature and pressure so that the production process runs optimally. If this system is disrupted, there will be excess use of water, waste water, and energy costs needed which result in higher total operational costs. With good and right care, it can reduce all risks posed. One component that plays a role in the cooling water system is a pump. This pump serves to flow the cooling water which is seawater to the LNG industry plant. At present, the amount of Work Order data recorded from the problems obtained from the pump requires maintenance updates. In this study, the method in the maintenance programs are used based on the Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) implementation. RCM will increase cost efficiency, reliability, pump uptime, and propose maintenance tasks. Beside pump, the reviewing also involve supports components that affect pump optimization. In this paper, the functions, causes, and effects are identified and the new scheduled maintenance tasks are shown

Abstract

The rapid development of maritime technology in the world to make Indonesia are also increasingly taking the development of maritime technology, such as in a Submersible Vehicle one is degaussing system, this technology should be owned by the vessel so that the vessel can avoid dangerous explosive equipment contained in the sea. Degaussing system is a system that is in use on the metal parts or electronic devices that are at risk of a magnetic field. This system is used to prevent the vessel from dangerous equipment in the sea which can trigger an explosion and the damage that utilize magnetic fields as a metal-detection sensor when the boat was doing dives. To the authors will plan the design degaussing system, and calculating the system in order to reduce the magnetic properties of the Submersible Vehicle which were obtained by the use of Coil Degaussing along 214,5 meters, a diameter of 0,2, with 500.000 coil that will generate a current of 0,0157 Ampere's 0.0787 Tesla generates a magnetic field.

Abstract

This research modified coolbox by mixing sengon wood sawdust and potassium hydroxide-soaked cocofiber. By considering its composition, potassium hydroxide content, and soaking duration, this research was done to find the optimum amount of those three variables to make the best insulator. The best insulator was chosen based on its thermal conductivity, density, and economic value, and the easiness in the making. From the experiment, the chosen composition consists of 30% sengon wood sawdust and 70% potassium hydroxide-soaked cocofiber with content of 15% and soaking duration of 2 hours. With thermal conductivity of 0,352W/mK, density of 0,303gram/cm3, and specimen production cost of Rp607,41, this material was used for composition reference in the making of the coolbox. The experiment of coolbox lasted for 35 hours with 71 temperature data retrievals. The coolbox experiment used 500 gram tuna fish and 2500 gram ice as cooler. The result showed that the lowest temperature for ice inside coolbox was 0,3°C, the lowest temperature of fish was 5°C, and the lowest temperature in coolbox chamber is 17°C. With the ratio of 1:5 for fish and ice, the coolbox insulation using sengon wood sawdust and potassium hydroxide-soaked cocofiber was able to maintain fish temperature below 20°C for 27,5 hours. Meanwhile, the styrofoam coolbox was able to maintain fish with the same condition for 35 hours.

Abstract

Basically a ship has a variety of conditions, namely cargo handling, anchoring, maneuvering, and sailing its requires large electricity consumption. The quality of the voltage is not good will cause damage to electrical equipment on board. Disturbances that occur in electrical system of MT. X may result in a decrease in the performance of existing electrical equipment on the vessel and affect a certain condition as in loading-unloading conditions the time required for loading and unloading becomes longer due to interference with the electrical system. The MT.X tanker system has 5 (five) main busbars: BUS 1, FEEDER PANEL, DSB 2, DSB 3 & 4, and DSB 6. The MT tanker. X has a generator of 3 units with a power of 680 kw each, a frequency of 60 hz and a voltage of 450 V. Transient disturbance analysis under loading-unloading condition occurs transient response due to starting ballast pump where the voltage rises and then drops within 0.5 seconds with the highest value of 100.44% at 4.01 seconds and the lowest value is 99.50% to 4.81 can then reach steady state conditions at 99.9%, which does not exceed the IEEE standard limits. In harmonic disturbances under loading-unloading conditions, in the feeder panel connecting the harmonic source with load at the 5th order, the value of VIHD is 8.77%, which exceeds the IEEE standard of 5%. While the value of VTHD in loading and unloading conditions also exceeded the predefined standard limits. After installation of the filter, it can be seen that the value of VIHD at the 5th order in loading-unloading condition decreased to 3.6% after the installation of filter on feeder panel, or equal to decrease as much as 5.17%. The decline in the value of VIHD has fulfilled the IEEE 519-2014 standard of 5% on each individual order. Meanwhile, VTHD value in loading-unloading condition also decreased, from 11.18% to 7.02%.

Abstract

Ballast water exchange is made by a vessel from one port to another port can cause a problem. The ballast water exchange can be harmful microorganisms that shifts will be a predator for the ecosystem of the intended recipients. To prevent this, IMO issued several rules regarding the disposal of water ballast, ballast water i.e. issued a ship must be in clean condition or there should be a treatment first before being dumped. Various alternative treatments ever used to be able to satisfy this rule. In this final task, developed one of the alternative treatment with using chemicals activated carbon with the object of study of ship cruise route with SINAR SUMBA Singapore – Surabaya and time planning is designed for12 hours. The selection of the method of test samples conducted in the laboratories chosen to know the applications the use of activated carbon to water ballasts of Surabaya and Singapore is in compliance with the specified standards. Then the next design planning systems or designs are suitable for use on the ship. From the results of the study showed that by using activated carbon- filtration, activated carbon the water turned out to be able to reduce the number of microorganisms such as E. Coli, Vibrio Cholerae, and Intestinal Enterococci in accordance with the IMO standards. Based on the results of the laboratory activated carbon filter design then the water ballast can be realized.
