Abstract

Fulfillment of political rights for everyone in Indonesia is regulated in the 1945 Constitution without any exception, including persons with disabilities or disabilities. In the 2019 elections held in April, the involvement and participation of disabilities should also be taken into account to realize the implementation of a good democratic process so that there would be no misuse of ballots. The problem is that people with disabilities as a minority group often feel unnoticed, so they feel alienated, a human condition that is isolated and kept away from work and ultimately experiences separate or alienated conditions. Twining (1980) enriched the concept of alienation from the approach of social psychology that refers to Seeman's work, with five aspects offered to describe alienation, namely helplessness, insignificance, isolation, irregularity, and self-estrangement. As a concern for persons with disabilities in the city of Semarang to be able to expectedly find solutions, this qualitative study uses a descriptive exploratory type. Informants in this study were determined by purposive sampling technique. Of the five aspects of alienation, there were three aspects experienced by persons with disabilities as voters in the 2019 Elections, namely powerlessness, isolation, and self-alienation. Meanwhile, the two other aspects were not experienced by persons with disabilities as voters. Alienation most often occurs in persons with disabilities who are mentally disabled and physically disabled who are unable to be mobile / totally paralyzed. The government is expected to be able to provide electoral facilities for persons with disabilities to ensure their political rights are fulfilled.

Abstract

As a developing country, Sri Lanka has problems facing other developing countries in the world. Start from the economic problems, food security and of course social and cultural. One of them is the issue of gender which has been a classic problem in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka people who still uphold their culture and customs are important factors for analyzing gender issues in the country. The tight culture and customs that are still held by the majority of Sri Lanka society, influence the stakeholders who should be the main spearhead of gender equality for women. Moreover, seeing the original culture which prioritizes men over women in various aspects, making women in Sri Lanka do not have the courage to do social breakdown for the freedom of women in their country. This also makes policy products (legislation) in Sri Lanka gender biased, because the perspectives of women who are actively involved in the legalization process in the country are very minimal. How exactly is public policy to cope with gender inequality in Sri Lanka? This paper seeks to explore how the policies of the Sri Lankan government towards the fulfillment of women's rights, which until now is still a social problem, is a fetter for women from their independence.

Abstract

The relationship between politics and religion in Indonesia at this time can be seen from one important thing that is being popularly known, namely politics of identity. Politics of identity is the main spotlight in politics in Indonesia, especially in mainstream and non-mainstream media such as social media. The word politics of identity today can be said to have the same "bad image" as the word politics itself. Especially in Indonesia. Disclosure of certain identities in society in referring to politics seems to be a total mistake and can even be called a grave sin. Like the election of contestants in direct elections based on religion, certain tribes or races become a big disgrace, especially in the midst of the strengthening of Pancasila as an ideology and national identity that should not strengthen at certain times. Remembering Indonesia, which "he said" had agreed with Pancasila. But the phrase politics of identity cannot be denied any more amid the dynamics of current political contestation, with its image as the "big enemy" of the current Pancasila and the main disease of democracy. How is the true identity politics in Indonesia until now, which is said to have strengthened and threatened the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia? This paper tries to trace the political roots of identity and its development to this day.
