Abstract

In Desa Pademonegoro, Kecamatan Sukodono, Sidoarjo the quality of water reservoir consumpted by many people is found to be in a low level and contains unnecessary substances like Mn and Fe. This condition makes water not feasible to consumpt for daily use. This study aimed to manage and purify water by utilizing ark shells freely available in beaches. Ark shells were initially synthesized by coprecipitation techniques using carbon dioxide gas at a pressure of 225 N/cm2, 300N/cm2,or 375 N/cm2 and settling time for 24 hoursor 36 hours. The ark shells were then characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) to determine its CaCO3 content. The ark shells with a high level of CaCO3 were used as a water purifier on the device spesificially designed on purpose and were tested with shell powder thickness with a thickness of 1 cm, 3 cm, or 5 cm and a water reservoir was placed at a position of 1 m or 2 m measured from the ground. The results indicated that the synthesis of ark shell using carbon dioxide at a pressure of 375 N/cm2and settling time for 36 hourshada high level of CaCO3 and thus was used as a water purifier. After purifying, the quality of water is such that it is odorless and tasteless, its color<2 TCU, turbidity of 0.2 NTU, TDS of 200 mg/l, contains Fe 0.08 mg/l, Mn0.03 mg/l, Hg 0.0001mg/l,As<0.005mg/l, pH 7.3, detergent <0.01 mg/l, water hardness of 88.32 mg/land saturation ark shells for 27 weeks.

Abstract

Comparison of the two models aimed to get a representative model that can explain the movement of sunspot groups in southern latitudes on the solar cycles 23th. If the movement of the daily sunspot groups is projected in the longitude and latitude direction, then it can considered as vector Ri. The evolution of sunspot groups during n days can be implemented into n-1 vectors and total vector of Ri is the resultant vector, R. Commonly, the movement of sunspot groups shift to positive or negative latitude direction. If R divided by a long of evolution (= n days) obtained an average vector R= (± b°B, ± l°L) where, the magnitude of b is the average difference in degrees of longitude/day, and l is the average difference in degrees of latitude/day. Distribution of sunspot group position data from firstday until to n days can be approximated by a linear regression equation. In studying the trajectory characteristics of sunspot groups used sunspot data of classes H and J in the southern hemisphere of the disk solar observations BPD Watukosek from 19972008 (cycle 23). From the comparison of the above two models obtained the best linear trajectories of a sunspot group. This result accordingly to the properties of differential rotation at the solar surface. Where at the lower latitude sunspot group will move relative faster than higer latitudes. The results of modeling can be used to interpolate to data that is not observed and extrapolated to predict the position of a sunspot group on the next day.

Abstract

The arylation of 2-iodo thiophene and 3-iodo thiophen with n-butyl germanium using complex palladium as catalyst in argon atmospheric condition was carried out. Products of arylation were tris(2-thiophene)n-butil germanium (1) and tris(3-thiophene)n-butil germanium (2). Compounds (1) and (2) were characterized using GC-MS, 1H and 13C NMR. The results showed that compounds (1) and (2) were colorless oil with the yield 20% and 25%, respectively. Both (1) and (2) have m/z 380. Measurement using 1H NMR gave different peaks of proton equivalent between (1) and (2) while 6 equivalent protons in (1) and 7 equivalent protons in (2). The measurement using 13C NMR gave 8 equivalent carbons both for compound (1) and (2).

Abstract

Illetrisoy is a biological fertilizer for soybeans, improvised by Indonesian Legume and Tuber Crops Research Institute, consisting in two forms of formulations A and B. This study aimed to determine the benefits of Illetrisoy bio-fertilizer application on growth and seed yield, as well as its effect on soil microbial populations.� � � � � � � � � � The research was conducted at the Indonesian Legume and Tuber Crops Research Institute, using of biological fertilizers Illetrisoy and soybean Grobogan variety. Design of the experiment used was a factorial randomized block with six replications. The first factor was the manure application consists of (1) without any manure, and (2) given manure. The second factor is giving inoculant Illetrisoy, consisting of (1) without inoculant, given inorganic fertilizer P, K, (2) without inoculant, given inorganic fertilizer N, P and K, (3) inoculation Illetrisoy A, and (4) inoculation Illetrisoy B. The results showed that the application of bio-fertilizers Illetrisoy on soybean has not significant effect on the physical variability of plants 45 days after planting and seed yield, compared to the treatment of manure and NPK application. The highest seed yields achieved on the application of Illetrisoy B accompanied with the application of manure and NPK fertilizer reached 50% (19.20 g seed/plant), which is not significantly different from the standard cultivation with application of NPK fertilizers which reached 18.43 g seed / plant. The analysis of the soil before and after soybeans planted, showed an improvement of chemically and biologically soil properties in terms of nutrient content (especially N and K) and total soil microbial population up to a hundred times.

Abstract

Fabrication PANi/HCl has been carried out by interfacial polymerization method, Fe3O4 nanoparticles by coprecipitation method and composite with compacting method. In the manufacture of composites, the addition of Fe3O4 nanoparticles aims to improve the electrical properties and characteristics of the magnetic properties of the composite PANi/HCl/Fe3O4. Characterization was conducted on the electrical conductivity measurements, characterization of XRD and VSM. Characterization results in this study could be seen that with the addition of Fe3O4 in PANi/HCl/Fe3O4 the electrical conductivity decreases significantly with increasing addition of Fe3O4. The maximum electrical conductivity of PANi/HCl at 16,667 S/cm decreased with the highest reduction at 40% Fe3O4 with a value of 21.1 × 10-4 S/cm. With the addition of Fe3O4 nanoparticles of the magnetic properties PANi/HCl in PANi/HCl/Fe3O4 composites increased significantly with increasing addition of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The enhancement magnetic properties was shown by the increasing value of saturation magnetization (Ms) PANi/HCl in the composite PANi/HCl/Fe3O4. For the PANi/HCl with a value of Ms = 25.48 × 10-4 emu/cm3 experienced the highest increase in the addition of 40% Fe3O4, that is the value of Ms = 18.5 emu/cm3.

Abstract

Single-particle and single-hole energy levels in the nucleus Pb208 are calculated using a new parametrization of the Woods-Saxon potential in coordinate space and the Numerov algorithm. The application of the new parameter set proves to be capable of improving the accuracy of the calculation compared to a previous parameter set as measured from the energy standard deviation (relative to the experimental values) only for single-particle levels, but it fails for single-hole levels.

Abstract

Based on an interval system S in a locally compact metric space, we have a cell in a locally compact metric space, i.e. an interval compact in S. In addition, if a cell E and a function d : E ® R+ are given, we have proven the exsistence of Perron d ® fine partition on E. Using a Perron d ® fine partition on a cell E, we can contruct a Henstock integral of a real valued function in a locally metric space nondiscrete. By generalizing a range function of its function, i.e. from a set of all real numbers to a vector space, we can construct a Henstock integral of a vector valued function on a cell in locally metric space nondiscrete. This research used a method of literature study, which was done by examining relative integral theories, building new concepts and proving theorems using logical mathematic reasoning as well as right calculation.

Abstract

Chitosan is a biopolymer that has adsorption ability toward dye substances due to its amino and hydroxyl functional groups. Thisstudy aimed to synthesize chitosan and chitosan beads from jerbung shrimp shell, and to test their adsorption ability on rhodamine Bdye. The chitosan and chitosan beads product of the synthesis were characterized using Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrophotometer(FTIR) as well as the determination of water content, ash content, and swelling effect. The adsorption ability of chitosan and chitosanbeads on rhodamine B was tested using the parameters of maximum wavelength as well as the effect of variation of pH and contact time.The results of the study showed that the synthesis gave result to chitosan and chitosan beads with water content of 4.45% and 6.84%, ashcontent of 0.1% and 2.83%, and the swelling effect of 143.43 and 94.05%, respectively. Chitosan and chitosan beads adsorb rhodamineB optimally at pH 4 and 3 with a contact time of 120 and 180 minutes, respectively at a maximum wavelength of 554.2 nm.

Abstract

This article discuss Cantor set, Cantor expansion and extended of Cantor expansion. These expansions are another ways toexpress a number except decimal system and binary system. How to express a natural number with Cantor expansion and extendedof Cantor expansion are discribed too. Some examples are given and we proved that Cantor expansion is special case of extended ofCantor expansion.

Abstract

Polymer concrete environmentally friendly by utilizing the waste has been developed, one with waste mussel shells and sidoarjomud. Utilization of the waste is not optimal, for it to be used as filler in polymer concrete waste will be expected to have a highereconomic value. This research aimed to utilize the waste of cockle's shells and sidoarjo mud as filler of polymer concrete. Both waste firstsynthesized into nano particles by taking calcite and silica alone (mussel shells into nanocalsite and sidoarjo mud into nanosilica), beforebeing used as a filler. Once formed nanocalsite and nanosilica, composites with epoxy resin matrix and filler nanocalsite and nanosilicacreated by varying the percentage weight of each filler 5-10% by weight. Then the characterization was conducted in the form of tensiletest, hardness, bending and impact test. The test results showed that the resulting polymer concrete has physical properties, mechanical,thermal and microscopic good and has an optimum value at 10% filler calcite + 10% silica, which is 218.39 MPa compressive strength,tensile strength of 3.32 MPa, a strong fracture of 8.04 MPa and hardness values ranged from 16.08 to 18.3 HVN. Overall the resultshave met the standards for the characterization of polymer concrete.
