TAKAMUL is a journal of Gender and Child Studies is published by Pusat Studi Wanita Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. First published in 2012, this journal is published twice a year in June and December. This is a scientific communication media for enthusiasts and observers of gender and children study. The editor receives articles of gender and children study from academics, researchers, practitioners, and postgraduate students. The articles will be published after a mechanism of selection, being examined by the expert, and editing process. This journal is open-access which means that everyone can access for individual or institution for free. A user will be allowed reading, downloading, copying, distributing, producing, creating a link from the article, or using for academic writing under the condition of publication ethics. This journal has been indexed by national and international indexing website, such as CrossRef. And this journal has Digital Object Identifier (DOI). Abstract

The philosophy of the Acehnese is Islam, the one which also becomes the cornerstone of landasan tradistional life. History has never raised any opposition to women in public activities. Custom- ary law as a cultural product is likely eroded by the times and the internal and external influ- ences as well. In the present context, the achievement of the past related to the role of women in the traditional sectors is still doubtful. The doubt is shown in the policy paradigm about cus- tomery law that apparently ignores the role of women and that seemingly restricts the roles of women in the development tasks. Some of the important indicators that concern are the legal basis used in the law, the use of certain words referred to women, women's participation in the formation of customary law and analysis of the substance in relation to the implementation. Custom is the foundation of nation building. The reconstruction efforts to rearrange the cultural life and customs that have been eroded for the order of the society and state are some of the things to do. Indeed the customary laws have opened up a partnership, but is still very limited and inconsistent, and is considered to be technical problems at the level of application. Reality is commonly used as a measure in measuring the application of a rule; when the social reality doesn’t show the existence of such partnership, this suggests the absence of the role of women as a development partner. Restoring the Acehnese living philosophy, i.e. Islamic teachings as a pillar of traditional life comprehensively at the level of policy application in the development of the nation is still absolutely necessary.

Abstract

This article will examine the case of micro finance programs in Aceh post tsunami dan conflict, on how it would has impacts on the life of the [women] beneficieries or the micro finance groups, and the challenges faced. There have been some debates; support and doubt on the effectiveness of micro finance in providing better economic access and opportunities for the beneficiaries or in reaching the poor people through the program. There have been myriad studies on the link be- tween the micro finance program and the economical impacts for the people or the livelihood of the beneficiaries. The study showed some impacts that microfinance had on the life of women’s beneficiaries, implemented in the context of post conflict and tsunami Aceh with a main argu- ment the post conflict and tsunami had contributed particular challenges to the programs, and also has caused some peculiar impacts on women’s life in post conflict and disaster context ac- cordingly.

Abstract

The background of study was conducted under considerations that any organization needs togetherness in working atmosphere. One of the strategy to reach this is through a leader interpersonal communication based on gender perspectives. The leader interpersonal communication has very important role in one organization,it is because interpersonal communication occurs as human nature, face to face, and very effective in changing human perspectives, opinion, and attitudes. That is why the writer recommended to maintain the leader interpersonal communication which has gender perspective in minds frequently in order to achieve togetherness.

Abstract

Stereotypes about women's lower self-concept than men not only found in everyday speaking, but is also supported by the results of research and scientific studies. Some stereotypes that have rooted and considered as absolutely truth in the society like women not independent, timid, indecisive, not suitable to be a leader, and irrational. These kinds of stereotypes cause some impacts on women perceptions themselves. Actually this is a form of self-concept that inadvertently learned and eventually internalized in women. In other words, a stereotype has been shackled feelings, thoughts and perspectives of women against themselves which affects the low self-esteem.

Abstract

Women are part of society. If people ignore them this means ignoring the society. Self-actualization as a form of manifestation of the creative potential of women is something that every woman should have. Because nowadays women have higher education and have an extensive knowledge, they should have been able to apply what they have known into tangible forms. Women also have many useful skills. Therefore, there are no more reasons to restrict their activities. Restrictions on women's self-actualization is a form of castration for women's rights. For this, the opportunity and the support from their family, especially from their husband are indispensable.
