Abstract

Infectious disease remains as a prominent health problem and worsened by the emerging antibiotic resistance. Probiotic has been an alternatievly popular application. Lactobacillus plantarum mar8 isolated from tropical fruit showed a stable mannose specific adhesin (MSA) activity in term of competing for and inducing immunity to infecting pathogen. This research focused on coating the probiotic with dextrin in fruit juice using a spraydrying technique to produce microencapsulated probiotic. The microencapsulation using 5% dextrin in either passion fruit or orange juice produced more compact capsule and supported higher probiotic viability. The microencapsulated probiotic expressed MSA gene for at least 10 generation indicating conserved function of probiotic.

Abstract

Electrocardiograph endurance test system has two work processes like defibrillator. Charging process produces energy stored in capacitor (ES) and discharges process produce defibrillation energy. Defibrillation energy without connect to electrocardiograph (E2) at test system is influenced by the resistance values of inductor (RL). In previous research, test system only produces E2 = 19,83 joule, this is caused by the inductor used with value RL = 72 Ω. The purpose of this research is to select inductor resistance value to get good and efficient value E2. Range value RLused in test system was 1–10 Ω, based on standar International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60601-2-27 clause 201.8.5.5.2. Voltage measured in point 100 Ω every time interval (∆t) 0,02 ms obtained from multisim software simulation. The result of simulation indicated if peak voltage increased, then value RL was used approach zero. In other side, measured Voltage data was used as parameter to calculate total E2in every range of RLvalue, then result E2total was compared to ES value to get energy ratio value. Value RL= 1 Ω was the most efficient because has ratio energy value 98,45% with E2 = 393,80 joule, while energy ratio when RL= 10 Ω was not efficient because only had energy ratio value 89,58% with E2 = 358,33 joule.

Abstract

La-Nina is an unusual climate changes that occurs in several years. The effect of climate anomaly on rubber plantation is very influential on rubber production. This research aims as analysis of La-Nina 2010 effects on experiment field Sembawa Research Centre. This research was carried out in experiment field Sembawa Research Centre at 2011. Research was conducted by analyzing the impact of rainfall in 2009 and 2010 on the availability of seed, reduction of tapping days, and rubber crop productivity. The results showed that the presence of La-Nina climate anomalies resulted in the availability of seed decreased by 50% for rootstock breeding. In addition, rubber production in the clones are susceptible to Colletotrichum leaf fall disease is reduced. Furthermore, tapping days were reduced 9 days because of the high intensity of rainfall. On the contrary, La-Nina caused a time delay of leaf fall sesion, so it did not give negative impact on productivity of Experiment Field Sembawa Research Centre. Attempts to reduce the impact of La-Nina climate anomalies have been done by planting specific location rubber clones, using rain guard technology, and giving extra fertilizer on the plants which are suffered by leaf fall disease.

Abstract

The increasing price of fossil-based energy and the higher amount of its consumption amidst its limited source would be the main reasons to develop some alternative energy from renewable sources. One of such alternative energy sources is the one from biomass waste, which is easy to find in rural areas as well as in animal husbandry. This biogas portable tank is designed for 160 liters of volume and 75% of this volume is filled with slurry which composes 1 part of cow manure and 1 part of fresh water. The Hydrolysis Retention Time of this slurry is about 20 days and everyday 14.5 liters of old slurry is replaced with the new one and will produce biogas by about 0.56 until 0.68 cubic meters per day, equal to 0.26 kg of LPG. By the assumption that the price of LPG is Rp6,000 per kg and 30 days of operation in a month, the biogas portable tank would get revenue which can cover cost production of the tank in less than 2 years of operation. With its simple design, small scale and lower cost production, and operability, the biogas portable tank is suitable for the production process of biogas and for fulfilling energy needs in rural areas.

Abstract

Everyone who will convey Tradition of The Prophet (hadits) must check his integrity so that not everybody can convey hadits. Appearance fake haditses push hadits experts to specify a method for proving hadits authenticity, by checking sanad (the transmission of hadits) and matan (text of hadits). Sanad and matan are two fundamental elements on every Hadits. There is a very tightly bearing that cannot be disassociated between sanad and matan. One  saying can be called as Hadits, if founded the existence of transmission of rawi (transmitterr) which waschronically up to the first source (Prophet Muhamad). On the contrary, the network of carriers, though to Prophet, without existence of message (text) which informed can not be called as Hadits. Existence of method for proving hadits authenticity is expected to become reference for everyone wishing to convey hadits correctly.
