Abstract

Barito River is one of the typology of inland waters that has the potential of abundant fish resources as much as 3-4 million tons of fish everyday. Fisheries marketing purposes in the District of South Barito are divided into two, they are inside and outside the district. This study aims to determine the supply chain system of the fish and examine measures to improve the effectiveness of PPIs in the distribution of fisheries in the South Barito regency. Data were collected through observation and interviews with key informants. The method of analysis used in this study with supply chain analysis and gap analysis described descriptively. From the research, it can be concluded that it is still not optimal in the presence of PPI Buntok distribution fisheries in the South Barito regency which recorded only 15% of fish catches are marketed in PPI Buntok while 85% is marketed outside the district. It istherefore necessary building repairs PPI adequate physical and managerial improvement in the management of the PPI

Abstract

The increasing of energy demand and environment awareness along with the depletion of fossil fuel imply that the future energy supply must be from the renewable energy source. One of the major renewable energy sources is biomass. Pyrolysis is a rapid decomposition of organic materials in the absence of oxygen resulting in pyrolysis oil, gas, and charcoal products. High water contents and instabilities such as viscosity increase and phase separation are the main problems of pyrolysis oil as a source of useful chemicals. The pyrolysis oil is separated into the oil phase and the pyroligneous acid. The pyroligneous acid contains a lot of chemical substances, that prohibit removal to the environment as a waste due to environmental pollution. Furthermore, pyroligneous acid needs to be treated to obtain the useful chemical. In this study, catalytic reaction of the pyroligneous acid, derived from pyrolysis process of palm kernel shells, was carried out over natural iron ores catalyst at 350 °C with W/F [W: the amount of catalyst bed (g) and F: the flow rate of feed (g h-1)] of 0.5 h. The analysis result showed that iron ores that treated by calcination at 285 °C had a higher ability for ketonization reaction of carboxylic acid compared to other catalysts. Even so, neither calcination up to 500 °C nor steam treatment of natural iron ores can significantly increase the activity of the catalyst for the ketonization reaction even though the BET surface area of the catalyst increased.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate relationship between education indicator represented by literacy rate and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) real per capita as economic performance with annual data during period of 1980 until 2008 in Indonesia. The analysis method used in this research was Vector Auto Regression (VAR) with Granger Causality Test, Impulse Responses, and Variance Decomposition. In addition, Akaike and Schwarz Information Criterion determined optimum lag of 6 that could be estimated. Granger causality test showed literacy rate significantly Granger-caused GDP real per capita, but there was no significant Granger causality from GDP real per capita to literacy rate over research period. One of crucial implications of this research results is that we must and still need to make the highest priority of base education development especiallyliterate promotion so that high level of economic performance could be equally generated in improving the prosperity of Indonesian societies.

Abstract

The study was assessing the performance of cattle component of technology as determinant for accelerating innovation adoption to support “PSDS 2014” programme in East Java. The assessments were conducted in three districts in East Java Province, which were Blitar, Kediri, and Lamongan. The fi fteen respondents were selected by purposive random sampling representing adopter of component technology. Data collected were characteristics of farmers and farming system, distance from source of information, and also supporting data from local govern-ment. The data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive, with Structure Conduct Performance approach. The results showed that technology performance has effects in accelerating adoption of technology components which are infl uenced by some factors, i.e. farming system characteristics, educational level and accessibility to source of technology information. Accessibility is the most important factor that defi nes how farmers receive information about new technology.

Abstract

Kemiri sunan (Reutealis trisperma) is a potential tree plant for biodiesel source. However, information related to phenotypic and genotypic variabilities of intra- and inter-populations is very lacking. This work aims to identify morphometric traits which show any differences among three populations of kemiri sunan as variety candidates, i.e. Banyuresmi, Cinunuk, and Padahanten. Thirty mature leafs and 30 normal seeds were randomly collected from each population. Morphometric characters observed were length and width of leaf, length and width of seed, seed weight, and kernel weight. Analysis of variance showed a high significant (p ≤ 0.01) in inter-populations differences for almost all characters observed, except for seed weight character. Leaf width has high value of broad sense heritability (H2), so that it should be used as the most valuable character for distinguishing among the three populations of kemiri sunan. Based on dissimilarity matrices analysis, Padahanten population showed the highest dissimilarity.

Abstract

Cijulang and its surrounding area represent as karst morphology with the cavity network development as the result of groundwater dissolution process. The research of karst hydrogeology in Cijulang area was conducted by using hydrochemical analysis and compiled with the field hydrogeological observation data to identify the hydrogeological system. Based on hydrochemical analysis data as degree of acidity (pH), partial pressure of CO2 (Pco2), and saturation index of calcite (SIkalsit) that compiled with hydrogeological characteristics shown the change of groundwater flow mechanism on the spanning of certainly elevation. Diffusion flow mechanism happened at theelevation of 110–65 masl (transition zone-1) and then changed into conduit flow mechanism at the elevation of 65–35 masl (transition zone -2) and at the elevation of 35–20 masl (zone of continuous water circulation).

Abstract

Down syndrome is the most common chromosome disorder and genetic cause of mental retardation. It occurs because of the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21. Down syndrome occurs in about one in every 800 live births. Down syndrome occurs with equal frequency across all ethnic groups and subpopulations. This research is intended to acquire a description of phoneme production competence and examines the patterns of deviations which occur as well as identifying the recovering point phonologically of children with down syndrome. The results of the analysis indicate that (1) the deviations in pronunciation occur regularly in each child, for instance, thechange of a certain phoneme occur in other phonemes and it happens repeatedly; (2) The phonological deviations in each child are not the same according to their intelligence, motoric capability, and background environment, (3) The phonological recovery of children with mental retardation requires a certain type of training, but this training will never succeed without supporting and conducive environment.

Abstract

Communication pattern is the circulation of information in a network of interdependent relationships with one another. Communication pattern is different in its implementation for the Management of Research and Development units derived from background research rather than researchers. Circulation of information from communications to the above, tend to be undertaken by a leader who belongs to the researchers. In contrast information from the communication down, tend to be undertaken by the leadership that does not come from a background of researchers. Emergence the different communication patterns among others, is also influenced by the encouragement of informal communications that are not structured and not fixed by the habits of the leadership itself. Communication processes are carried out continuously and continuous between leaders and researchers in reducing the differences will lead to convergence of communication that can form a patterned process of communication.
