The purpose of this article is to know the condition of the carrying capacity of Tangerang City. The background is that Tangerang City has rapidly increased in development and population growth according to its location as a Buffer zone ofD KI Jakarta and a central of industry. A Buffer zone is hoped to be able to counter the high population growth in Jakarta by creating a harmonious development between Jakarta and its surroundings. Tangerang City acts as housing for commuters to Jakarta and have to accommodate migrants who want to work in Tangerang City. The development of housing and its facilities increase the utilization of natural resources such as land and water. Otherwise, the natural resources have limitation of capacity. The over utilization will encourage the risk of land degradation that can threaten a sustainable urban development. For its purpose, this article used data from BPS publication and other related sources, and it was analyzed descriptively.

Gasifi cation has become an alternative technology to convert biomass as renewable energy resource. How-ever, the utilization of gas from the process as diesel-engine fuel is hindered by the presence of tar. Used cooking oil could be used as tar absorbent medium due to its higher or nearly equal boiling point compared with that of tar component. In this study, the performance of spray column was evaluated by measuring the absorption effi ciency and mass transfer coeffi cient of volumetric tar in liquid phase (KLa). The tar used in this study was represented by toluene which was carried by air fl ow and then set as tar model in gas producer. The tar model dispersed in air was injected to spray column for absorption process with gas fl ow rate 2.580 L/min and temperature 30°C. The composition of tar model in gas phase was determined both as input and output of spray column by gas chromatography fl ame ionization detector (GC-FID). The absorption effi ciencies of toluene with absorption liquid of water, 5.4% w/w used cooking oil in water and 10.8% w/w used cooking oil in water are 70.2%, 93.8% and 95.2% respectively in 30°C, with KLa value 1.59.10-2/min, 7.10-4/min and 4.10-4/min respectively.

Indonesia is exposed to climate change, especially with regard to the rising sea level, changes in precipitation and extreme events. This will particularly impact to many sectors in this country. In order to evaluate the impact on subsurface environment, groundwater temperatures in boreholes can be an important source of information on recent climatic changes. Subsurface temperatures in Jakarta city were analyzed to evaluate the effects. As a result the magnitude of surface warming was increase 1.4°C which agreed with the increase of air temperature meteorological data during the last 100 years. This is the preliminary results of significant increase in climate change during the last century in Jakarta. Still today, the information on vulnerability and adaptive measures is not sufficient in order to plan and design appropriate activities on the national level in Indonesia.

The availability of food resources is one of habitat components that support simakobu conservation. This study was aimed to identify the species and composition of feeding plants and habitat structures of simakobu. Habituation of simakobu was conducted in prior to the study. Afterwards it was performed to collect the data on species and composition of feeding plants of simakobu using ad libitum methods. Determination of the structure and composition of vegetation on simakobu habitat, vegetation analysis was done by establishing plot measuring all long 100 m for 15 plots. Result showed that amount of 116 plant species was eaten by simakobu. Katatairek (Bhesa paniculata), logauna (Knema sumatrana) and ungla (Aporosa symplocoides) were species that its parts were most widely used as food source of simakobu. Young leaves, leaf bud, fl ower and fruit parts of those speciesare eaten by simakobu. This study suggests that the dominant plant species on the simakobu habitat is Logauna (Knema sumatrana).

The concept of leadership is not only useful for the leader but it is also useful for everyone who is led, meaning that by understanding the concept of good leadership, a leader will be able to do what he should do and how the follower should shows their loyalty and dedication to the leader. By using the leadership role contained in the Arok Dedes novel written by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, the objectives to be achieved in this study were (1) reveals patterns how Arok leads, (2) reveals leadership perspective of Asthabrata Arok, and (3) knowing the relevance Arok leadership in relation to the present leadership and the future leadership. The method used in the data collection is the literature study. The data analysis is carried out by reconstruction and reflection text (text meaning), then proceed with interpretation by evaluating the perspective of Asthabrata leadership and correlate the text with the concept of leadership in the future leadership. The result of the analysis shows that the leadership pattern of Arok reflects strong leadership and fairness. Arok leadership represents the leadership of Asthabrata. The character of leadership is very relevant to be applied in order to leading a nation in which experiencing a crisis of leadership like today.

Kata kunci: Sistem gantry crane, PSO, Gain PD, Sudut ayunan AbstractThis paper presents the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to optimize the gains of the PD controller to form what so-called the particle swarm optimization (PSO-PD) controller. The effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm is tested under constant step function and compared with Ziegler-Nichols (ZN-PD) controller. Simulation results show that proposed controller has slower rise time and peak time than ZN-PD controller as well as small overshoot under the predefined trajectories.

In embedded-system designs that involve just a small capacity voice-recorder, one may use EEPROM or voice-recorder IC. However, sometimes one needs a high capacity voice recorder also. In this case, EEPROM can’tfulfill the needs anymore because it’s hard to get EEPROM with capacity even at 512 kbyte. Meanwhile, the ISD® voice-recorder IC could store voice up to 16 minutes only. For this background, the writer proposes a high-capacity digital voice recorder which is able to record voice for several hours. It uses SD Card as the storage media.. With sampling rate at 8 kHz/8 bit and 512 MB SD Card, the recorder can store voice until 18 hours. The recorded voices are stored in WAV file format so that can be transfered from and to PC when needed.
