Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of replacing Fuse Cut Out (FCO) on the 20 kV distribution network at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Cikupa to enhance the reliability of the electricity distribution system. Fuse Cut Out (FCO) is an essential protective device designed to prevent damage to electrical equipment from overcurrent or short-circuits. In the 20 kV distribution network, FCO often experiences reduced functionality due to aging and environmental conditions. This research evaluates the current condition of FCOs and implements precise and safe FCO replacement procedures. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through literature review, interviews, field observations, and FCO performance testing. The research findings indicate that placing an arrester after the FCO provides additional protection for transformers, selecting fuse link ratings in accordance with transformer capacity is crucial for effective protection, and proper coordination of fault current interruption significantly improves system reliability. These findings are expected to assist PT. PLN (Persero) in optimizing FCO replacement procedures to reduce disruptions and extend the operational life of distribution equipment.

Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the main resources that is very much needed in everyday life and is an important indicator of a country's progress. The electric power distribution system plays an important role in ensuring efficient and reliable energy supply to consumers. Electricity distribution starts from power plants, through transmission and distribution networks, until it reaches the end consumer. This distribution process involves various components, such as substations, power transformers, and distribution lines that adjust the voltage according to consumer needs. This study aims to analyze the operation of the distribution system from medium voltage to low voltage at the Serang Main Substation, with a focus on reducing power losses, improving distribution quality, and minimizing system disruptions. The research methods used include literature studies, observations of existing distribution systems, and interviews with experts in the field of electricity distribution. The results of the study show that distribution efficiency can be improved with better load management, capacitor installation, and the application of modern technology in the distribution network. Thus, a more efficient electric power distribution system can provide significant benefits to consumers and energy providers, reduce power losses, and improve overall system reliability.

Abstract

During the distribution of electric power, there are power losses which occur in both the line and the transformer. Power loss can be identified if the voltage at the transmitting base (generator) and the receiving base is different from research data. Power loss is energy loss that cannot be avoided. It is important to anticipate and examine energy loss in order to ensure it stays within acceptable boundaries. A lack of electricity supply in an area will result in low voltage, even power outages. The voltage and current at peak load every day are taken at 14.00 WIB and 22.00 WIB. The distance from the Aur Duri substation to the Payo route is 19 km, as this transmission line enters the short transmission line. The power losses that occur when sending power from G.I Aurduri to the Payo Selincah department are quite large. However, these losses still meet the requirements for the feasibility of transmission lines according to PUIL PT. PLN (Persero) 2010, namely not more than 10%. The cause of power loss is due to several factors, namely insulator leaks, long distances, environmental temperature, lack of current flowing and the conductor table material used.

Abstract

In electric power systems, power flow studies are conducted to gather data on power flow. Including active and reactive power, voltage on each bus, voltage magnitude and phase angle, active and reactive power flowing through each channel, and the state of every piece of equipment to ascertain whether it satisfies the necessary standards for distributing the necessary electrical power. In this research, ETAP software is used to simplify and speed up the power flow calculation process. According to the analysis's findings, the higher the transformer load percentage, the smaller the voltage. The smallest voltage at point JE383 – JE507 which is located at the end of the line is 19,719 kV with an assumed load of 95%. The greater the transformer load percentage, the greater the current. The largest current is located at the base, namely at the PLTMG – JEX109 point of 49.2 A with an assumed load of 95%.

Abstract

The 20 kV cubicle plays a vital role in the electrical distribution system, particularly in maintaining the reliability and stability of power supply for industrial customers. This study aims to evaluate the impact of routine maintenance on the performance of 20 kV cubicles at the Prima Krakatau Customer Service Unit (ULP). Maintenance is carried out periodically using time-based and condition-based approaches and includes measuring technical parameters such as grounding resistance, Current Transformer (CT), and Circuit Breaker (PMT). The results indicate that all components are operating optimally, with grounding resistance at 0.6 ohms and resistance values for CT and PMT exceeding 50 GΩ. The study concludes that scheduled cubicle maintenance contributes to improved power distribution reliability, reduced risk of system interruptions, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
