Abstract

Transportation problems are usually related to the distribution of goods and services from various production centers to several sales locations or consumers. and the distribution of coconuts is very important for its transportation from 3 existing warehouses to the specified market destination with an initial transportation cost of Rp. 250,000, using and the initial solution for the transportation cost of coconut distribution using the NorthWestCorner (NWC) model is Rp. 82,000. Having a lower difference of Rp. 168,000 with the previous coconut distribution transportation cost, the Least Cost (LC) Method model is Rp. 83,000. Having a lower difference of Rp. 187,000 with the coconut distribution transportation cost, the Vogel Approximation Method (VAM) model is Rp. 86,000. Having a lower difference of Rp. 164,000 with the coconut distribution transportation cost, the Vogel Approximation (VAM) method is Rp. 86,000. Having a lower difference of Rp.164,000 with the cost of coconut distribution transportation, so from all calculations to find out transportation costs, it can optimize transportation costs and also get different results for each method used from the calculations that have been described above. This concludes that there are several methods that can be used to be a means of transportation. Coconut entrepreneurs must think about being able to optimize costs, operational efficiency, flexibility of adjustment, from each price tested in this study.

Abstract

Earthquake prediction is crucial for risk mitigation, particularly in taking appropriate preventive measures in the face of disasters. The magnitude of an earthquake is influenced by various factors, including location, depth, and the history of seismic activity in a region. This study aims to develop an accurate earthquake magnitude prediction model by integrating clustering and ensemble learning techniques. Earthquake catalog data from BMKG Indonesia is processed and clustered using the DBSCAN algorithm based on geographical location. The prediction model is constructed using Random Forest and XGBoost, then integrated through stacking ensemble learning techniques. Evaluation results indicate that the stacking model delivers the best performance, with the lowest Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.108 and the highest R-squared (R²) of 0.892, compared to individual models. This accuracy improvement is attributed to stacking’s ability to combine the predictive strengths of Random Forest and XGBoost. The study demonstrates that integrating clustering and ensemble learning can enhance earthquake magnitude prediction models. However, further research is needed to explore more comprehensive data and features and to test model generalization in other regions.

Abstract

Security is becoming a very important element in the digital age, especially in the management and protection of information. With the increasing volume of information being processed, the need for adequate knowledge management and security provision is becoming more pressing. This research highlights the importance of cybersecurity in the context of digital libraries that must comply with certain technological standards and regulations to protect user data and ensure privacy when accessing electronic resources. Libraries face various challenges in protecting personal data on their electronic resources. This research explores topics such as user privacy, data encryption, access management, and compliance with privacy laws. By addressing these issues thoroughly, libraries can ensure the protection of user privacy while optimizing the benefits of digital resources in today's information environment. The October 2023 cyberattack by the hacker group Rhysida on the British Library's information systems underscores the importance of cybersecurity and data privacy for digital libraries. This research aims to provide insights and solutions to these challenges, so that digital libraries can operate securely and efficiently.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of leadership, organizational culture on work motivation and employee performance, and examines the mediation effect of work motivation variables. The sample in this study was 160 permanent employees of PT. PLN (Persero) Lhokseumawe City Area. The analysis tool used was Amos. The results showed that each variable had a positive and significant influence. Leadership has a positive and significant effect on Work Motivation (p = 0.004) < α (0.05). Organizational Culture has a positive and significant effect on work motivation (p = 0.005) < α (0.05). Leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (p = 0.030) < α (0.05). Organizational Culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (p = 0.044) < α (0.05). Work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (p = 0.001) < α (0.05). Work motivation mediates partial mediation between Leadership and Employee Performance (p=0.009) <α (0.05). Work motivation mediates partial mediation between Organizational Culture and Employee Performance (p=0.008) <α (0.05).

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important role in the Indonesian economy, contributing significantly to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employment. However, many MSME players face obstacles in optimizing their potential, especially in terms of capital, use of technology and halal permits. This research aims to analyze the influence of these factors on the production and income of MSMEs assisted by Rumah BUMN Medan City. This research dataset involved 100 MSMEs taken using the Stratified Simple Random Sampling technique. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a correlational approach and path analysis (Path Analysis), to measure the direct and indirect influence of variables such as capital, length of business, halal permits, and production volume on income. The research results show that capital does not have a significant effect on the amount of production and income, while the length of business has a positive effect on these two variables. Halal permits have been proven to increase production but do not directly affect income. The production quantity variable functions as a strong mediator between exogenous factors and MSME income. The implication of this research is that MSME players need to focus on sustainable business management, increasing entrepreneurial experience, and obtaining halal certification to increase product competitiveness. In addition, the results of this research provide policy recommendations for the government to support the empowerment of MSMEs through more equitable and technology-based financing and training.

Abstract

Based on observation, the researcher noted that the grade X teacher at SMA Swasta Al-Washliyah 1 Medan did not use media or teaching aids in teaching trigonometry. The learning process only relies on textbooks from the government, Student Worksheets (LKS), and the lecture method, so it is less interesting and tends to be boring. The material presented is also limited to printed mathematics books, without any teaching aids or other learning media that can help improve the effectiveness of learning. This research aims to develop learning media in the form of ropintri teaching aids at Al-Washliyah 1 Medan Senior High School that are valid, practical, and effective to improve student learning outcomes. This type of research is the development of Thiagarajan's 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The sample in this study were 28 students of class X-A SMAS Al-Washliyah 1 Medan. The techniques used in data collection are using questionnaire validation sheets, practicality instruments and test instruments. From the trial results obtained the results of ropintri props have met the criteria very valid based on expert assessment of 90.70%; ropintri props have met the criteria very practical based on a response questionnaire of 90.9%. The ropintri teaching aids met the criteria of being very effective from student learning outcomes of 96.42% with a gain increase of 0.6364 in the medium category. It can be concluded that ropintri teaching aids are valid, practical, and effective in improving student learning outcomes.
