Abstract

The sharia tourism industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, making service quality a key factor in creating customer satisfaction and loyalty. Currently, there is no service quality dimension specifically designed for sharia tourism, so businesses and regulators still rely on a general framework that is less sensitive to sharia values. This study aims to identify service quality dimensions that can be adapted from other organisations, particularly Islamic banking, by applying the CARTER (Reliability, Assurance, Tangibles, Empathy, Responsiveness) model, which has proven effective in the financial sector. The method used is qualitative, relying on literature analysis techniques of five publi- cations that explicitly integrate the CARTER dimensions in the context of sharia tourism. The analysis shows that combining the five traditional service dimensions with sharia compliance principles produces a holistic unity, namely the CARTER dimensions, which synergistically enhance perceptions of quality, satisfaction, and loyalty among halal tourists. These findings confirm that a cross-sector approach can produce a new framework that is relevant and applicable to the sharia tourism industry. The novelty of this research lies in the revelation that the service quality dimension, which was previously only practised in Islamic banking, can be directly adopted into the halal tourism industry, providing a theoretical and practical basis for the development of service standards, certification, and public policies that target the sustainable improvement of halal market competitiveness.

Abstract

Wood ear mushroom is a high-value commodity with beneficial nutritional content and growing consumer demand, thanks to its high fiber, vitamins, and cholesterol-free status. However, CV. XYZ faces persistent inventory issues because it does not operate cultivation facilities and relies entirely on fixed purchases from farmers. This condition often leads to oversupply, quality deterioration, and high storage costs, indicating a mismatch between procurement decisions and actual market demand. This study aims to forecast demand using the Single Exponential Smoothing method, analyze inventory con- trol through the Wagner-Within Algorithm and Silver Meal method, and compare their cost efficiency with the company’s existing policy. The analysis uses historical data on demand, holding costs, ordering costs, and time periods from April 8, 2024, to June 1, 2025, followed by projections for 30 future peri- ods. The results show that total forecasted demand reaches 160.195 kg with α = 0.1, which produces the lowest forecasting error. Both the Wagner-Within Algorithm and Silver Meal method achieve 33% cost efficiency, generating an inventory cost of IDR 46,551,418 with 15 orders, compared to the existing policy’s IDR 60,849,090 with 30 orders. These findings indicate that the Wagner-Within Algorithm provides a more comprehensive and effective framework for formulating inventory policies. Optimizing order timing and quantities helps reduce storage costs, minimize quality losses, and enhance operational efficiency, making it a strategic approach for managing high-value and perishable commodities such as wood ear mushrooms.

Abstract

The increasingly fierce competition in the cosmetics industry, driven by the growing use of TikTok as a platform for information and shopping, has created an urgency to understand how digital marketing influences Gen-Z purchasing decisions in the modern marketing era. Influencer marketing is rapidly growing as a key strategy, but its effectiveness remains inconsistent and depends on the platform and audience context. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of influencer marketing on pur- chasing decisions and to examine the role of electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) as a mediating variable among TikTok Shop users in Pontianak City. The study used a quantitative method, administering a questionnaire to 123 Gen-Z female respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-AMOS and the Sobel Test to examine the mediating effect more comprehensively. The results indicate that influencer marketing significantly influences E-WOM and purchasing decisions. Additionally, E-WOM has been shown to influence purchasing decisions strongly. The Sobel Test con- firms that E-WOM partially mediates the relationship between influencer marketing and purchasing decisions. These findings confirm that although influencers can generate initial interest, positive reviews from other consumers are an important factor in converting that interest into confidence and actual purchasing behavior. This study implies that digital marketing strategies should integrate influencer collaboration with E-WOM reinforcement to increase the effectiveness of promotions on TikTok Shop.

Abstract

The rapid development of Indonesia’s education sector has led to an increase in the number of universities and students. Pontianak is home to high-quality universities that attract students from within and outside the city. This has led to increased demand for student housing, especially boarding houses. This study aims to determine the influence of location attractiveness, service quality, and brand trust on students’ decisions when choosing boarding houses in Pontianak. This study used quantitative methods. The study population consisted of students who rented boarding houses in Pontianak. The sampling method used was accidental sampling, and the sample size was 130 respondents. The data for this study were collected through questionnaires, and the analysis technique used a rating scale processed using SPSS version 24. The results of this study indicate that location attractiveness and service quality have a positive and significant effect on students’ decisions to choose boarding houses in Pontianak City. However, brand trust was found to have no positive and significant effect on students’ decisions to choose boarding houses in Pontianak City. The novelty of this research lies in the finding that the brand trust variable does not dominate and influence the decision to choose a boarding house, unlike in several pre- vious studies. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of boarding house managers focusing on strategic location and service quality for tenants as factors that influence the decision to rent.

Abstract

Post-pandemic business slowdowns in the fintech sector, as experienced by PT Fliptech Lentera Inspirasi Pertiwi (Flip), have created an urgent need to maintain employee stability amidst changing work models. This study aims to analyze the determinants of job satisfaction by examining the influence of Hybrid Working, Work-Life Balance, and Motivation. The research employed a quantitative, causal design. Data were collected through questionnaires from 80 employees, determined using probability sampling with Slovin’s formula. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the partial and simultaneous effects of the variables. The findings demonstrate that Hybrid Working and Work-Life Balance have a positive and significant impact on Job Satisfaction, establishing flexibility as a primary driver of employee morale. Conversely, Motivation was found to have no significant impact on Job Satisfaction in this specific context. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influence Job Satisfaction, explaining 26.1% of the variance. The study concludes that in a high-pressure fintech environment, employees prioritize autonomy and balance over generic motivational drivers. These find- ings offer practical implications for Flip’s management to prioritize and optimize hybrid work policies and "hygiene factors" to enhance employee satisfaction and reverse the trend of declining organizational growth.
