Abstract

Bali has changed. The world is no longer partially controlled by men but there are forms of marriage where both the bride and groom act as purusha (the power of patriarchy) or have the same rights and obligations between them. This qualitative study found that the number of bride and groom couples in Bali who choose the form of marriage "pada gelahang" (having the same rights and obligations), from year to year tends to increase. The background or main reason for choosing the form of the marriage is to continue the regeneration. There are three principles or attitudes of life that need to be held and respected so that the marriage achieves prosperity and happiness forever (find a forever happiness), namely paksa, lasia, and satya.

Abstract

General election is a tools or facility in implementing democracy which is carried out directly, publicly, freely, confidentially, honestly and fairly. This is in accordance with the principle of democracy, namely from the people, by the people, and for the people as mandated by Article 1 paragraph 2 of the 1945 Constitution. The election is believed to be only as one instrument to encourage the democratic process. Because the increase of mature democracy will reduce injustice and make people's lives more secure in their freedom and encourage the creation more a fair. However, democracy which is carried out through general election in Indonesia now adays is not democracy and the general which is election very suitable for Indonesia. Indonesia has a democratic style mechanism and only exists in Indonesia. Indonesian democracy has been very clearly stated in the 4th principle of Pancasila, which is popularly led by wisdom in deliberation/representation. For this reason, awareness is needed by state leaders and elected board members to be able to understand and explore the values and spirits of Indonesians style democracy. So that Indonesians democracy is getting closer to the spirit and body of Indonesias people.

Abstract

Women's political participation in the political stage has increased, one of which is due to the creation of the 2003 Election Law which regulates the quota of women legislative candidates at least 30 percent. The emergence of regulations that open wide avenues for women to take part in politics, in fact, is inversely proportional to the conditions of women cadres in Bali. In Bali, women who succeed in sitting in the district / city legislature can be counted by fingers. From the 2004 to 2014 elections, no more than 10 percent of Balinese women succeeded in gaining positions in the regional legislature. The number of Balinese women who participated was relatively large, but after voting (elections), only a few managed to win. So that this raises the phenomenon of Balinese female cadres being only used as a tool to fulfill the quota of political parties without being given the knowledge, motivation and fighting spirit to take careers seriously in the world of practical politics.

Abstract

Waste becomes an environmental problem in Bali and requires attention immediately. Plastic waste is the second largest component in waste generation in Bali, which very harmful to health and threatens Bali tourism. Plastic waste production in Bali reaches 268 tons every day and only 29.4% of plastic waste is disposed of to landfills. While 44.5% of plastic waste is not processed so that pollutes the environment especially the river and the sea. The Bali Provincial Government realize the dangers of plastic waste and tried to limit generations by issuing regulations that limit the generation of plastic waste. Due to the regulation, it is expected to reduce the generation of plastic waste up to 60-70% so that it can improve environmental quality and have a positive impact on the quality of life and public health as well as Bali tourism. One important point is that being free from plastic will lead Bali into a clean and green island.

Abstract

The Balinese language which is used in daily life on the island of Bali has experienced a shift in usage so it needs to be preserved. In an effort to preserve the Balinese language and script, the Provincial Government issued Bali Governor Regulation Number 20 of 2013 and Regulation number 1 of 2018. I Made Suatjana submitted a proposal that the Balinese script be included in Unicode to make it easier to display Balinese script on digital media. Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha developed keyboards or keyboards and an application called T@miang to facilitate typing Balinese characters on computer devices. Computer equipment is slowly becoming obsolete, replaced by mobile devices used by 53.03% of users in Indonesia, so it is necessary to build a Balinese script keyboard that can be used on mobile devices. PaTik Bali is built for mobile devices with Android operating system. PaTik Bali layout is adapted to T@miang keyboard layout. PaTik Bali version 1.0 only uses the Balinese script on each keyboard key. In version 2.0 each button on PaTik Bali has been added Latin letters because of the large number of entries on the Google Play page. Based on data recorded on the Google Play Console, there are 41,820 devices that have installed the Balinese Keyboard (PaTik Bali) application, 99.19% are from Indonesia. In general, the PaTik Bali application can be accepted in the community, this can be seen from the average rating given by users on Google Play which is 4.27 on a scale of 5. However, some users complain about the incorrect form of letters. The PaTik Bali application uses fonts that have been embedded in the Android operating system so that it can be used as a keyboard in other applications. This font still has enough problems. To fix this problem, it is necessary to develop the Balinese font then ask Google as an Android developer to enter the new font into the Android operating system.

Abstract

The Omed-omedan tradition is one of the unique traditions in the city of Denpasar, precisely in Banjar Kaja, Kelurahan Sesetan. The Omed-omedan tradition is a mythology accepted as a cultural heritage of the Banjar Kaja community, Sesetan, has been passed down from the older generation to the present. That's why this tradition is said to be unique and rare as cannot be found elsewhere. The Omed-omedan tradition was originally a tradition that was carried out spontaneously by the Banjar Kaja community, but in its development it has transformed into a cultural festival which certainly has a fairly high selling value. The transformation of a tradition which was initially carried out spontaneously by the community into a festival showed that the cultural industry with its capitalist ideology was able to influence most people to agree that the implementation of this tradition was packaged into a festival. The Banjar Kaja Sesetan community feels that they need a new model in the implementation of this tradition so that it has more selling value and is better known than before. The Banjar Kaja community, Sesetean, has unconsciously been hegemony by capitalist ideology so that it has unconsciously agreed to transform the tradition from spontaneity into a festival. By reason of the progress of the era and tourism, this tradition is considered to have high economic value so that it should be used as a cultural festival. The cultural industry does not eliminate the sacred value of this tradition, but by turning into a festival with various packages that satisfy the people present, resulting in the loss of the authenticity of the tradition, there has been an unconscious uniformity in the implementation of this tradition.
