Abstract

General Background: Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are increasingly recognized as significant global health burdens, particularly among young adults exposed to high stress, irregular routines, and limited dietary diversity. Specific Background: Military conscripts face unique physical and psychosocial pressures that may exacerbate FGID risks; however, Central Asian populations, including Uzbekistan, remain underrepresented in FGID epidemiology. Knowledge Gap: No prior standardized, large-scale study has assessed FGID prevalence and psychosomatic correlates among Uzbek military personnel, leaving a void in understanding regional patterns and predictors. Aims: This study aimed to determine the prevalence, subtypes, and psychological correlates of FGIDs among Uzbek conscripts using Rome-based diagnostic tools and the SCL-90R scale. Results: Among 910 participants aged 20–25, FGIDs were present in 19.8%, with functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome predominating. Somatization and obsessive–compulsive traits emerged as independent predictors, while depression showed a weak inverse relationship. Novelty: This is the first systematic study to map FGID prevalence and psychosomatic predictors in Uzbekistan’s conscript population, bridging regional epidemiological gaps. Implications: Findings underscore the necessity of integrating psychological and gastrointestinal screening, stress management, and dietary regulation into military health programs to enhance servicemen’s well-being and operational readiness.Highlight : The study found that FGIDs affected about 19.8% of Uzbek conscripts, mainly functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome. Abstract

(General Background) Contemporary Indonesian education often prioritizes cognitive achievement while neglecting moral and social integrity, leading to weakened communal values and fragmented social systems. (Specific Background) Traditional character education approaches remain individualistic and exam-oriented, offering limited strategies for cultivating honesty, tolerance, and empathy through social praxis. (Knowledge Gap) Although speech act theory conceptualizes language as action, it largely lacks practical application in community-based moral education within heterogeneous societies. (Aims) This study explores how speech act theory, integrated with social systems theory, can be operationalized through Sekolah Perjumpaan, a community-based model designed to rehabilitate social relations and foster collective character. (Results) Using qualitative case study methods—interviews, observations, and document analysis—the study found that Sekolah Perjumpaan aligns intentional states (thinking, feeling, desiring, willing) with speech acts (assertive, expressive, directive, commissive) to form sustained moral habits and social cohesion. (Novelty) The research introduces M. Husni Muadz’s innovative praxis that transforms speech act theory from abstract philosophy into an actionable pedagogical framework grounded in Indonesian socio-cultural contexts. (Implications) The findings position Sekolah Perjumpaan as a replicable model for community-based character education and social system rehabilitation, offering both theoretical advancement and policy relevance for national education reform. Highlights: Integrates speech act theory with social systems for moral education. Transforms language use into a tool for social rehabilitation. Offers a replicable community-based model for character development. Keywords: Speech Act Theory, Character Education, Social Systems, Community Learning, Sekolah Perjumpaan

Abstract

General Background: Village autonomy in Indonesia, as regulated in Law No. 6 of 2014 and refined in Law No. 3 of 2024, grants villages significant authority to manage their governance and finances through the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes). Specific Background: However, the drafting of village regulations often diverges from positive law, revealing tension between national legal ideals and local political practices. Knowledge Gap: Few studies comprehensively analyze how national legal politics and local compliance interact in shaping legally accountable village governance. Aims: This study aims to analyze the influence of legal politics and compliance with positive law in the formation of village regulations on APBDes. Results: Using a normative juridical method with legislative, conceptual, and sociological approaches, the study finds that compliance with positive law is strongly determined by central legal politics, human resource capacity, and village legal culture. Decentralization has increased autonomy but also introduced risks of legal deviation. Novelty: This research integrates the concept of legal politics with village-level compliance analysis, positioning legal awareness as a moral and structural foundation of governance. Implications: Strengthening legal culture and supervision mechanisms is essential to ensure that village regulations reflect justice, transparency, and public interest rather than local political interests. Highlights: Legal politics directs village regulation formation within the national legal framework. Compliance with positive law depends on human resources and legal culture. Strengthening supervision ensures justice, transparency, and accountability in governance. Keywords: Legal Politics, Positive Law, Village Regulations, APBDes, Legal Compliance
