Abstract

The retail industry in Indonesia has experienced a post-pandemic recovery, but still faces various challenges such as economic fluctuations, changes in consumer behavior, and fierce competition. This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture, motivation, and discipline on cashier performance at Retail PT XYZ, one of the largest retail companies in Indonesia. This study uses a survey method with a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents, namely cashiers who work at several PT XYZ Retail outlets in the city of Bandung. The collected data was analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that organizational culture and motivation had a positive and significant influence on cashier performance, while discipline did not have a significant influence. Simultaneously, these three variables make a significant contribution to cashier performance. An organizational culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and customer orientation, as well as motivation through rewards and career paths, is a key factor in improving performance. In contrast, work discipline that is more focused on compliance with rules is considered less effective without being supported by intrinsic motivation. This finding has implications for PT XYZ Retail management to focus more on developing organizational culture and motivation systems through continuous training, incentives, and evaluation. This finding-based policy is expected to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the company's competitiveness in the ever-growing retail sector.

Abstract

Drinking water distribution work at PT. XYZ as a supporting part of the construction industry, involves a series of processes that have the potential to be dangerous and have high risks for workers. To ensure worker safety and health, identifying potential hazards and risks is important. The Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) method is an effective solution for carrying out this identification. This study aims to carry out the process of identifying potential hazards and risks and their control in the work of delivering drinking water supplies at PT. XYZ, using the JHA method. This approach allows systematic analysis of each step of the work, so that potential hazards can be clearly identified and the level of risk can be evaluated in depth. The results of the JHA analysis can be used as a basis for formulating effective control strategies to prevent accidents and injuries in the work environment. Based on the study results, the level of risk obtained at each stage of work before implementing controls varies but ranges between H12 or M9. After implementing risk control the residual risk value obtained is reduced to range between L2 to M6. The lowest residual risk value, namely L2, was obtained for the danger of negligence when checking vehicle oil from the previous value of M9 and the highest residual risk value of M6 was obtained for the danger of slippery floors when washing the vehicle from the previous risk value of M9.

Abstract

Pension funds are one of the important instruments in providing old-age security for workers. However, in practice, there are several cases where pension fund managers are involved in fraud that harms pension participants. This research aims to examine the supervision carried out on pension funds, especially in the context of overcoming fraud practices by pension fund managers in Indonesia. Using a normative and empirical juridical approach, this research examines the effectiveness of existing regulations and the application of sanctions against violations that occur. Based on the analysis, it is found that despite the existence of fairly strict regulations, fraudulent practices in pension fund management still occur due to weak supervision and law enforcement. The case study raised in this research shows that the involvement of supervisory institutions such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and related legal entities needs to be increased so that pension fund management runs more transparently and accountably.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of collaborative policing in handling ethnic, religious, racial, and intergroup (SARA)-based social conflicts with a case study of conflict in Mareje Village, West Lombok, NTB, in 2021. Focusing on the qualitative method of case studies, this study analyzes the dynamics of interactions between the police, the community, and other stakeholders in handling conflicts. The results show that collaborative policing through cross-sector involvement is effective in reducing tensions and supporting post-conflict recovery. However, challenges in communication and synergy between parties are still obstacles in the implementation of this collaborative strategy. This study recommends increased multi-sector engagement and cross-sector collaboration to improve effectiveness in handling future SARA conflicts.

Abstract

The prolonged conflict between Israel and Palestine has produced various narratives and slogans that reflect aspirations, demands, and resistance, one of which is the phrase “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free.” This slogan is known to have strong political appeal because it holds an explicit message related to Palestinian independence aspirations. From a communication science perspective, it is important to understand how this phrase constructs and communicates meaning and how it is received among diverse audiences. This research aims to analyze the slogan through the perspective of political communication, framing theory, and social identity theory, in order to examine its impact and communication implications in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The research method uses a qualitative approach with literature study as the main method. Data collection is done through documentation techniques on various written sources, which are then analyzed through three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the phrase “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free” is often used in the pro-Palestinian movement as a symbol of freedom aspirations, and serves as an effective communication tool to build identity, mobilize solidarity, and influence public perception regarding complex political issues. The conclusion of this study confirms that the slogan has an important role in shaping political narratives and creating a significant communication impact in the dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is characterized by low HDL levels, high triglycerides, hypertension, increased blood glucose, and obesity, often associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Wild Red Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) on total cholesterol levels in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) with a metabolic syndrome model. Method This research employed a quantitative experimental laboratory study with a pretest-posttest control group design. A total of 30 male Wistar rats were divided into five groups: K1 (negative control), K2 (positive control), and K3, K4, K5 (metabolic syndrome) treated with Rubus idaeus extract at doses of 30 mg/200gBW/day, 60 mg/200gBW/day, and 90 mg/200gBW/day. Total cholesterol levels were measured on days 8, 36, and 64. Data analysis was performed using Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the results were not normal in distribution and hemogenity although after transformatted, so non-parametric tests Kruskal-Wallis, were used, followed by Mann-Whitney tests. Result ,the administration of Rubus idaeus extract resulted in the highest total cholesterol levels in group K3 and the lowest in group K5. Statistical analysis showed significant differences (p < 0.05) before and after treatment in each group, with Pearson correlation tests demonstrating a very strong relationship between the dosage of Rubus idaeus and total cholesterol levels. Conclusion, the administration of Rubus idaeus extract significantly reduces total cholesterol levels, with the dose of 90 mg/200gBW being the most effective in lowering total cholesterol levels.

Abstract

In today's business activities, many companies in Indonesia choose to obtain funds from shareholders through loans from shareholders, compared to the mechanism of increasing issued and paid-up capital. Specific to subsidiaries with the status of public companies or issuers, the scheme of obtaining funds from shareholders through shareholder loans is considered relatively easier because it is an affiliate transaction. This study will further examine the appropriate form of regulation related to the determination of the maximum limit of shareholder loan interest to subsidiary entities in the form of issuers or public companies. Through a normative juridical approach with qualitative analysis methods, this study explores the existing regulatory framework, identifies gaps in implementation, and formulates comprehensive regulatory solutions. The results of the study revealed several important findings. First, the existing regulatory framework does not provide clear parameters regarding the maximum limit of interest on shareholder loans, causing inconsistencies in business practices. Second, the existing supervision and enforcement mechanisms have not been optimal in preventing potential abuse of shareholder loan schemes. Third, an integrative approach is needed that considers the legal aspects of the company, the capital market, and taxation in determining the maximum reasonable interest limit. This study recommends the establishment of a special regulatory framework that regulates the determination of the maximum limit of shareholder loan interest.
