Abstract

This study aimed to determine the increase in student learning outcomes in the domain of knowledge, skills, and attitudes by using problem-solving learning models. The method used is classroom action research through two learning cycles consisting of the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. There was an increase in learning outcomes and the number of students who met the minimum completeness in the domain of knowledge seen from the average value of students in cycle 1 to cycle 2. The learning outcomes of students in the domain of skills from the observation were included in the sufficient criteria in cycle 1 and increased to be good criteria in cycle 2. Classical completeness based on the number of students in cycle 1 to cycle 2 has increased. The learning outcomes of students in the domain of attitudes through the results of observation data were included in the sufficient criteria in cycle 1 and increased to be good criteria in cycle 2. As well as an increase in completeness seen from the number of students in cycle I to cycle II. Based on these findings, this model can be used to improve the chemistry learning outcomes of students in class XI.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the science process skills of students on each indicator and to find out the average percentage of students who have a science process skill level category (high, medium, and low) chemical bonding material with the POGIL learning model. This research uses pre-experimental research with the one group pretest posttest research desaign. The data collection techniques used were observation and assessment tests. The data analysis technique used paired T-Test (SPSS version 16) and N-gain Score. The results showed that the data were normally distributed, namely the Sig.> 0.05. Paired Sample T-Test obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00, which means that the test is <0.05. So it can be concluded that the POGIL learning model has a significant effect on the science process skills of students. The science process skills of the five indicators, the classification indicator has the highest average posttest score percentage of 96.21% and the observing indicator has the lowest average posttest score percentage of 71.21%. Science process skills have increased from the average results of the pretest and posttest values, namely from 65.76% to 88.41%. The improvement of science process skills is in the moderate category with the N-gain Score index of 0.67.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain: project-based teaching materials with multimedia that have met the criteria for content, language, presentation, and graphic eligibility according to the National Education Standards Agency and student responses to aspects of the appearance, material, and benefits of project-based teaching materials on Alkena material. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) which has been modified as needed. This research was carried out in several stages, namely syllabus analysis according to the current curriculum, book and multimedia analysis by researchers, design and development of teaching materials and multimedia, validation of teaching materials by lecturers and teachers, validation of multimedia by lecturers, and then the teaching materials developed were responded by students. The average result of the validation by lecturers and teachers is 3.67 which means valid. The average result of multimedia validation is 3.77 which means valid. The average percentage level of student satisfaction with project-based teaching materials with multimedia that has been developed is 90.33%. So it can be concluded that project-based teaching materials with multimedia on alkenes are valid and do not need to be revised. Based on the high student response, it means that students like the multimedia teaching materials.
