Abstract

The synthesis of potassium ferrate and the optimazion as green chemistry degradator had been studied. The purpose of research was to study the influence of pH and reaction time to potassium ferrate stability. This research was started by synthesis and characterization of potassium ferrate. Some parameters influencing degradation process by ferrate ion, such as pH and molar reaction time have been studied, and the decomposition result was quantization by spectrophotometry UV-Vis. Based on the XRD spectra, it was found that the solid phase potassium ferrate had a tetrahedral structure with a space group of D2h(Pnma). The potassium ferrate solution had a maximum stability at pH 9-10. Decomposition result of ferrate indicated that kinetic constant was stable at spanning time 24-72 hours.2h(Pnma). The potassium ferrate solution had a maximum stability at pH 9-10. Decomposition result of ferrate indicated that kinetic constant was stable at spanning time 24-72 hours.

Abstract

Learning can not only be done in the classroom with direct face-to-face activities but can now be done with the help of IT, for example with learned learning. Although learning with vi-learn or e-learn cannot indeed replace overall face-to-face learning in the classroom. The world of education cannot be separated from technological advances such as this study because sometimes in carrying out classroom learning there are obstacles that cannot be avoided. These obstacles can be administrative in nature such as national holidays which coincide with the schedule of courses and cannot be replaced on another day due to limited space and insufficient time. In this study, learning tools for the English for TEP-based learning program have been developed to learn the verbal communication skills of students majoring in chemistry. From the data from the validation results, it can be concluded that learning devices consisting of enrichment modules and worksheets are feasible to be used in learning lessons. Likewise, from the response data, students showed a positive response from students in using enrichment modules and worksheets.

Development of Students Worksheet Based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to Improve Student Critical Thinking Skill In Reaction Rate. The aim of this study is to know the feasibility of students’ worksheets based on STEM to improve the ability of critical thinking on the reaction rate matter. The study uses a Research and Development (R D) design until the limited testing phase. The trial was conducted on 15 students in class XI MIA 6 Senior High School Hang Tuah 2 Sidoarjo. The instruments used are review and validation sheets, student response questionnaire sheets, knowledge, and critical thinking skills test sheets. The STEM-based Student Worksheets are feasible based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness aspect. Validity is reviewed based on content and construct with percentage each criterion are 81,25% (very valid) and 80,69% (valid). Practicality based on student responses shows of percentage 86,67% with very practice category. Effectivity based on results of knowledge and critical thinking skills tests with Wilcoxon test each show sig. (2-tailed) the score is 0,001 the meaning is before and after students have student worksheets is different, and the results of knowledge and critical thinking skills n-gain show 0,78 and 0,87 with high category. The n-gain results of critical thinking skills interpretation are 0,94, analysis is 0,76, and inferention is 0,86 with high category. So it can be concluded that STEM-based worksheets are feasible and can improve students' critical thinking skills. Keywords: Student Worksheets, STEM, Critical Thinking Skills, Reaction Rates DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v10.i3.2021.13

Abstract

Development of Integrated Curriculum Student Worksheet to Train Student Scientific Literacy Skills in Reaction Rate Material. This research aims to describe the feasibility of integrated curriculum student worksheet to train student scientific literacy skills in reaction rate material assessed from validity, practical, and effectiveness criteria. This research uses Research and Development (RD) method until limited the trial stage. The instruments are the review and validation sheet, activities observation sheet, student questionnaire sheet, and science literacy skill test sheet. The developed student worksheet was tested on 13 students of XI grade at State Senior High School (SMAN) of 1 Grati Pasuruan that already accept reaction rate material. The validity of student worksheet is obtained based on assessment from two chemistry lecturers of Universitas Negeri Surabaya and two chemistry teachers of State Senior High School (SMAN) of 1 Grati. The validation consists of content and construct validity by expert obtained a percentage sequentially are 91,46% and 88,96% with both in very valid category. The practical of student worksheet is obtained based on student response and activities observation who get positive response of 98,82%  and relevant student activities result of 98,83% both with very valid practical category. The effectiveness of student worksheet is obtained based on test result of student science literacy skills where student declared as complete with value range 83,9-96,8 and N-gain value of 0,8 with high criteria. Each domain of scientific literacy skills include science context, science knowledge, science competencies, and attitude towards science got percentages sequestially 90%, 91%, 91%, dan 96%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility based of Inquiry student worksheets based on Internet Assisted Learning in the reaction rate submaterial to practice critical thinking skills of class XI SMA students. The development research design uses the 4-D method (Define, Design, Develop, and Dissiminate). In this research it is up to the development stage. The trial was carried out on 24 high school class XI students who had not received material on the reaction rate on November 9-20 2020. The research instrument consisted of a review sheet, a validation sheet, a student response questionnaire, a knowledge test sheet, and a critical thinking skill test sheet. The results showed that the student worksheet was very feasible based on the assessment of the validator and student responses of ≥ 81% and achieving a value of ≥ 75 according to the criteria for minimum learning completeness. The validator's assessment based on the eligibility of the content, language, presentation, and graphic criteria showed the percentage of 98.6%, 86.4%, 85,4%, and 100%  in the very valid category. Student response shows a positive response assessment based on the eligibility of the content, language, presentation, and graphic criteria showed the percentage criteria of content is 91.8% , language is 81.7%, presentation is 85%, and graphic 96.7%. The results of the knowledge test obtained an n-gain score of 0.85 in the very high category. The results of the creative thinking skills test obtained an n-gain score of 0.795 in the very high category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the worksheets developed for the chemical learning of students' reaction rates. This research is focused on the guided inquiry learning model to improve students' science process skills. The research sample was 36 students of class 11 MIPA 4 SMAN 1 Puri, Mojokerto Regency. The research model used the One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The data analysis technique used normality test, paired sample t-test, and n-gain test. The validation results show that 93.3% is valid. An average of 98% of students showed a positive response to the developed Student Worksheets. In addition, students carry out relevant activities with 90.2% when learning takes place. The pretest-posttest of cognitive domains and science process skills showed what usually distributed the data. The paired sample t-test test showed a difference in the pretest-posttest results, and the n-gain test showed an increase in the pretest-posttest. The Student Worksheets Developed are valid, practical, and effective for use in learning chemistry for the Reaction Rate material and can train students' science process skills.
