Abstract

The number of students with severe mental health problems is a growing concern in Nigerian higher institutions with little or no counselors to attend to their needs. This study described university students’ experiences with mental health in academic settings through an interview. The findings revealed that university students deal with depression, anxiety, suicide, academic challenges, and addiction through qualitative interviews. To overcome these challenges, students must have mental health resources mainly received from the university to support these students. Therefore, as shown in this study, having a better understanding of these students’ mental health challenges, university faculty and staff can recognize students’ needs and effectively offer supportive campus counseling services. The university needs to be prepared to meet students academically, culturally, mentally, and emotionally. Implications of findings for educators, university administrators, and parents were discussed.

Abstract

The implementation of PTMT which began to be rolled out by the government in several schools turned out to have problems in the early days of student learning. BDR system leaves a psychological phenomenon in the form of learning loss which boils down to decreased student motivation in the classroom. The author as a teacher who acts as a facilitator BK students take the initiative to implement Project-Based Learning as an effort to internalize the character of the Pancasila student profile into each student so that it can re-trigger student learning motivation with a more student-centered learning model and atmosphere. The argument in this paper is built with the perspective of Best Practice teachers to restore student learning motivation lost during BDR. The results of this activity concluded that (1) Project Based Learning is worth using as a good practice for guidance and learning because it can restore student motivation that has decreased after the COVID-19 pandemic. (2) with Project-Based Learning, we can internalize the character of the Pancasila student profile with a pattern of integration and more fun.

Abstract

The burnout of study  during the Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on students at school. Therefore, the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak can affect various patterns of human life, especially in the world of education. Especially the behavior of students in schools after the Covid-19 pandemic. Bring up learning boredom or also called burmout study, which is a condition of boredom, fatigue and boredom in learning, causing a sense of reluctance, lethargy, extraordinary fatigue, and a lack of enthusiasm in the learning process, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. In teaching and learning activities (KBM) during the pandemic, students carry out online learning activities (online). In response to this, an optimal implementation of a guidance and counseling (BK) teacher is needed to reduce this behavior, one of which is through E-Counseling or commonly called electronic (online) counseling services. Counseling services are not only carried out face-to-face in a closed room, but can be carried out through a remote format via a website in the form of an application, so that it can be interpreted as a counseling process that can be used as an alternative by guidance and counseling teachers in reducing burnout study during the pandemic. Based on the results of the implementation of e-counseling activities at SMAN 1 Cihara, it was found that e-counseling had a good impact in reducing burnout study behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Multiple challenges with personal growth and development might arise in students from broken homes. This research aims to identify the student resilience from broken home families, as well as the experience and significance of the situation. This reserach used a mixed-method with embedded design. The total number of quantitative study respondents was 100, while the total number of qualitative informants was 10. Quantitative data retrieval strategies employ psychological scale and qualitative data using depth interviews. In general, student resilience falls under the category of average. The feature of optimism received the greatest score, while the aspect of reaching out received the lowest. To be able to survive in difficult situations, the informant tries to remain calm, controls inner impulses in various ways, believes that every problem has a solution, empathizes with others, believes in self-capability, analyzes the origins of problems, and searches for answers. The existence of mothers and younger siblings, as well as mindset and goals, contribute to the survivability (resilience) of informants in broken home families. Informants interpret their experience by taking wisdom and building expectations to be pious children, successful people, and proud parents by performing and working.

Abstract

Increased rhythm of dual role student activity results in role conflict, caused dual role student need to fulfillment of demands from two sides of activities that have different goals. Based on initial interview we found industrial engineering dual role students have qualified for academic burnout dimention: exhaustion, cynicism, and diminished personal accomplishment.  This research is very important with purpose to prove psychological training effectiveness to reduce academic burnout for dual role students. This research is part of quantitative methode with experimental approach use one group pretest-posttest design with psychological capital intervention as independent variable. From the research sample, 8 people of the industrial engineering dual role students were determined.
